A great action packed opening episode. This is an anime - about anime characters coming to life from different worlds. We’re introduced to Sota’s rather normal life as an artist. Then suddenly he is pulled into an anime called Vogelchevalier in which Selesia Upitiria is battling a mysterious woman in a military uniform who uses throwing swords as weapons. Though Sota makes it back, he also brings back Selesia... awwh cute. But then the mysterious solider is also in pursuit too, turning the city into a battle zone. The music by Sawano Hiroyuki as usual doesn’t disappoint with his soundtrack. Sadly the later episodes were no where near this action packed or badass…

Thanks for the first impressions, very helpful. I've adjusted your thread title to reflect it being your first impressions on Summer 2017 titles. Frankly the only two titles I'm interested in this season is Fate/Apocrypha and Senki Zesshou Symphogear AXZ (season 4 of Symphogear - it being one of my most favourite franchises!!) I'm still catching up with the previous season titles (Spring 2017) Almost there.

[FLOAT_RIGHT][/FLOAT_RIGHT] So I finally watched this official anime music video with the interesting Porter Robinson dubstep mix... The story: It's so sad when Rin looks at her past memories!!! :'( Those are the most powerful scenes to me. But it does leave us hanging with so many questions... What ACTUALLY happened to the world / Tokyo ? What drove her father / guardian to send JUST HER to space? Presumably nobody else survived? It gets a 7/10 from me - the worlds that Rin creates in her virtual world are beautiful.

Discord is a free text/voice chat service that is marketed as a Skype and TeamSpeak replacement.

I have taken steps to make the Discord server unofficial. The topic about it has been removed from the Bulletin Board section. I also have left the Discord platform, which means that the web-hook which was sending new thread/post notifications from here to the Discord server will also be deactivated. I am unable to commit to both chatting and moderating it due to time constraints with several projects. In truth I have been very inactive on the Discord server for the last few months for this very reason. The Discord server was originally created by members as an informal place to gather - just in the same way anyone could make an unofficial Steam group or Facebook Messenger conversation group as a quick place to gather for events. I'm certainly not against having these other channels as they excel for live events and gatherings. But from an official and practical stand-point, we cannot endorse any of these platforms (Steam, Discord, etc.) as official AF platforms. It's unfeasible because there is a lack of "Report" tools, as well as the lack of AF staff available to keep an eyes on things - they're already focused heavily on the forums here.

Hi @RepentantSky, point taken. The current dilemma though is the preview excerpt displays the first 200 characters of the first post. So unless the thread starter takes care not to put spoilers in the first 200 characters, other visitors could be exposed to spoilers if the visitor isn't up to date or familiar with the series. I think it can also be assumed that any threads in this area would very likely have spoilers (which we mention in our Forum Guidelines).

Yes, I must admit I didn't actually know about this feature until @zoop mentioned it. Maybe we can set it as the default. I will also work on styling the bar to make it match with the latest Heiki theme. :noire-crazy:

Hi @GreenEyes and @John jobs, thank you for your interest. This announcement was made last year, when we used to have a very different layout for our anime forums. At that time we had separate sub-forums for a number of anime titles (similar to MyAnimeList). The idea at the time was to allow us to have separate episode threads and deeper character threads for certain titles. But It unfortunately fizzled out as there just wasn't enough activity and members to sustain it, resulting in many inactive sub-forums. Also managing so many sub-forums became very tricky. So the best way to contribute is just to participate in the anime episode and general anime title threads. I am going to be making some episode threads soon on the Spring 2017 titles that already aired, but please feel free to bump any of the other anime threads or create new ones as you like. I am also working on a way to help tie all the episode threads together which I will announce shortly, just working some kinks out.

The Discord server was created by other members and when I first checked it out I thought it was great, the original plan was to actually replace the Forum Chat with Discord, as it was much more modern and also had the bonus of having push notifications for the iOS/Android Discord apps. I trialled promoting it by adding a live user list Discord widget on the sidebar of the forum home page. But unfortunately, this had a side effect of new users going straight to the Discord server and mostly staying there - drastically reducing forum activity. In some ways Discord is just too good, it's almost a sub-community by itself. The biggest issue with Discord is there is no way to embed it on a web page, you can only use it from the web or via an app. I tried to mitigate this by adding a bot within the Discord server that would automatically post a link for each new thread and post created but it didn't help much so in the end I removed the sidebar widget to help the forums recover. In light of the recent events, I'll need to review our official stance on the Discord server again. Admittedly I haven't been visiting the Discord server recently, so I will monitor it more closely and make a decision on it in the coming days.

Looking at the most recent entries it looks like it is working OK but perhaps you've noticed an anomaly, bug or glitch. There are also events where points are awarded manually from time to time.

Sorry I don't know the answer, best to make sure you have a new separate save each new chapter. I passed Rebirth 3 awhile ago but didn't get true ending (the good ending is terrible and ends abruptly at the climax with the CPUs!!) so in the process of getting True Ending but I just haven't had the chance to play for awhile now due to my current schedule. There is a Rebirth 3 thread in this section which would be worthwhile bumping.

Hi @Moe, Thanks for your feedback on the Waifu/Husbando feature. In its current form it would be very hacky to implement a time delay / different phrases for the character based on the member's time. A revamp of that feature is planned long-term, as there are so many characters in that dropdown list now I am almost certain it's a little daunting. I'm hoping to implement some other improvements to make it easier to use (images instead of the dropdown list) and perhaps the possibility of being able to upload your own character/image as well as your own phrases. Apologies for the delay - I did see the notification but have a large backlog. Can you please send me a private message (Conversation) with the image you would like to add and I will get onto it as soon as I can.

Hi @GreenEyes, @zoop has pretty much covered my thoughts. MyAnimeList actually has an API so we could get a module developed to list your favourite anime titles directly from your MAL profile... but... then you may as well just promote your account on your profile and signature as they present it better.

Hi @Orius, As others have mentioned this community is actually ranking quite high for a number of anime related keywords so it certainly could be a nice way to get some exposure if you don't already own a blog. It would be a significant financial investment though from my end to implement this, so I've reserved this project for when the community becomes larger. For now though you are definitely welcome to advertise your own blog/website/channel in your signature.

Hi @Mars Terra thanks for your suggestion. The Manga/Light Novel section isn't overly active as we're predominately an anime forum, and it would be quite empty if we had a dedicated subforum for this. For now please feel free to just make them in the Manga/Light Novel area so we can gauge activity. Of course if it gets very active definitely happy to expand it.

Not an artist myself, but I've heard many good things about CLIP STUDIO PAINT - a lot of pixiv artists use it.
