General discussion for Blu-Ray discs! I started purchasing them before I had a full HDTV so the difference was quite small. Now that I'm on a full HDTV the difference is phenomenal. Blu-Rays here were $40 each when they first came out here!! They're at a more reasonable price now though you'll still be paying a premium if you go for the Triple Play editions (DVD and iTunes copy bundled). I had a quick glance at my library and I'm at 60 Blu-Rays! My only gripe with Blu-Ray is region coding. To my knowledge there still aren't any viably good region free Blu-Ray players. I import several Hong Kong Blu-Rays so they're on region A, whereas we're on region C. My current workaround is to set my PC Blu-Ray player to region A whilst I play the local releases on the PS3. Anyone else here buy Blu-Rays? Whats your experience been like?

My old Kia Rio when a Nissan Prado rammed into me. And I was stationary. In total I was involved in two rear-ended incidents. I truly believe the colour was the cause in both cases: inattentive drivers combined with a colour that actually blends nicely with our clear Australian skies. I would strongly advise against going for this car colour! Thankfully my Subaru Impreza is nice and red. No accidents so far.

Benchmarking just means to compare.

For those that have never played it before it was a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney. So each of the worlds were modelled after a Disney franchise, thrown in with some Final Fantasy. It was a really touching story across both games and some of the nicer features at the time included: live battles (no random encounters) bizarre yet interesting mix of Disney and Final Fantasy characters (Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck,Aladdin, Simba, Winnie the Pooh, Yuffie, Squall, Cloud, the list goes on!) Discussion topic for Sword Art Online. For the benefit of those that haven't watched the series in full yet please use SPOILER tags. If you're still watching it how are you finding it so far? If you finished it how did you find it? I know a lot of people felt this way, I wish they extended the SAO arc over the AO arc. Bear in mind I've never read the manga it was based on. With AO I felt a lot of the suspense was lost when in SAO if you died that was it, but in AO there are no major consequences as you'll eventually respawn...

Hmm... I do wonder what happens if you click the Watch History 10,000 button? Does it show each video you've seen? My viewing history doesn't have your button at the top, it goes straight to pagination. I think because I haven't watched that many videos (having created several different YouTube accounts over the years).

What colour is your car NightDancer? My very first car was a Kia Rio. In some ways I do miss it, I think there is always that sentimental value with your first car. What I don't miss about it is the colour. It was a light sky blue / polar white. I think this blended in with our clear skies at a distance which may have contributed to two people rear-ending me on separate occasions. And I was stationery. I now drive a red Subaru Impreza. I have to say it was a tough choice between that and a Mitsubishi Lancer.

What was the first video game you played? I myself can't remember exactly but it was definitely a DOS game. The computers in Primary School were 386 and 486 IBM machines and they had DOS/Windows 3.11 so they had an assortment of DOS and early Windows games. The DOS games were the most fun, Word Rescue, Math Rescue... Raptor... old Apogee games.

I have my heart set on either Singapore or Japan this year. A lot of our members are in Singapore so I would love to meet them one day. Japan there are a number of reasons I would like to go there. My first exposure to the culture was through Japanese exchange students visiting during High School. We also have two Japanese teachers I work with from time to time and they have very interesting photos and stories to show.

That's awfully strict, I wonder what the reasoning behind that is? We don't have such a rule seeing as we wipe them clean with a reimage when they get returned. And secondly how would they enforce that anyway? :mellow:

Looks like you've made some very good connections Nick. As for me... Careers: Volunteer work with the Ambulance service for 2 years. Full time work as IT support for a school coming up to 2 years now. Hobbies: Tried making short films for 6 months. We made some nice wacky productions including the use of replica weapons and LED lightbars for our Police cars but we never had enough actors to take it really serious and thus could not justify spending money on filming permits to film in the CBD... Inspired to recreate AN again. Rekindling my Anime interest again. Possibly going mad by purchasing Japanese Blurays for awesome quality which are very expensive compared to the local releases here... Relationships/misc: Still living and enjoying the single life. Went to Europe alone last September and visited London, Amsterdam and Vilnius (Lithuania). Eye opening experience. Moving house soon.

First day back for students for me too and what happens I get my first speeding fine from a fully marked Police Car hiding behind a tree. 56km/h in a 40km/h school zone. $150 and 2 demerits. :eek: Will pay it and move on.

That day is coming up again, year of the snake this year which is my animal! I think this year we would like to celebrate at home. Last few years have been very expensive going out especially with the huge courses of meals (Sharkfin soup anyone?). How about you, what are your plans for this year? B)

My current setup is a 120 GB SSD and two 1 TB HDDs. Working on all the galleries lately I've noticed my HDD space is rapidly running out. I like to have the DVDs in lossless format which allows much faster frame seeking. ^_^Of course then that results in insanely large file sizes such as 278 GB for all the Digimon Frontier DVDs deinterlaced... I would like to do the same for the Gundam SEED Blurays (which will hopefully ship next week. Just waiting on one box out of the four to be in stock from their end) so I'll most likely need a new HDD as shown below: How is your storage going on your machines? Files are getting larger these days.
