A hundred years from now people are going to be like "Can you believe they didn't believe in magic back then?" Meanwhile there are plenty of reasonable explanations for unexplained deaths and disappearances, weird animal sightings, UFO sightings, paranormal encounters and so forth. So which way do you go? I think it's how, at least in the beginning, they were able to do thinks that were not allowed in American animation. Before computers doing them was hard and many people were unwilling to take risks, especially with what was generally considered a medium for children who were supposed to be kept in the dark about certain concepts and maybe more importantly, did not have money. So most animation studios kowtowed to the parents. But the small country of Japan instead of doing it that way had a few who tried the old school stuff, like how Fantasia had a few scenes of nude females. Or animating blood or certain relationship aspects normally left out of cartoons. Then when those made it to America kids saw them because inattentive adults looked at things like Vampire Hunter D or Heavy Metal or Tencho Muyo and thought, hey my kids are just watching cartoons. The kids saw the loophole and asked for them, btu the way teenagers want National Geographic for the occasional nude natives. Eventually the adults caught on and either joined in or tried to ban it, much like what happened with Harry Potter and the whole thing grew and got more popular. I think them up and the computer makes them real. But it's the added touches that justify it as art. The Ai thinks up a lot of things I don't. Unfortunately they are also unfairly limited. Many are prevented from doing stuff with famous people, or going too sexy or violent. It restricts the art and is rather a nasty thing to do.

It is all about your point of view. Time fixes all problem and causes more. However since we'll always exist in some form or another, it doesn't really matter. We are going to be around forever. It doesn't matter if you like it or not. Physical immortality would have its perks and its downsides, especially depending on what kind you get. Eternal youth. Invulnerability. Regeneration. Undeath. Body snatching. Some will do anything to live forever. Others pray for death that never comes.
