  1. Since our parents passed, me & my sister's family just go out to eat now instead of the big home cooked meals. Invited some close family friends along as well this year. I actually went with ham this year instead of the traditional turkey, but otherwise standard holiday fare. Most unconventional had to be my 12 year nephew who had the salmon. Just stopped by my house to let out the dog before heading over to their place for some family time.

Just watched Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san.  Cute comedy/slice of life.  Poor Nishikata didn't stand a chance.  :)

Personally I would have gotten tired of that series if not for the segments of the trio of girls giving a bit of variety (Mina aka Eyebrows was best)

  3. Side-scrolling beat-em-ups like Final Fight & Double Dragon. Other memorables: Konami's licensed properties (TMNT, X-Men, The Simpsons), Crime Fighters & Battletoads Arcade Game (which incorporated low-blows into your move repertoire) Capcom's The Punisher, Streets of Rage 2, Sega Saturn's Guardian Heroes. And of course the grand-daddy of them all (though most people are probably more familiar with the NES version).

  4. Romcoms: Recovery of an MMO Junkie; Rascal does not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai; Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun

For the others try: That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime; GATE; .HACK//

  5. Sakurako Kujo from Beautiful Bones is in many ways the perfect Holmes archetype: while intellectually brilliant with a keen sense of observation, she has a number of personality flaws & at times can be childish and petty. While most people assume her preoccupation with bones is morbid, she sees the skeletal structure as a miracle of nature that makes life possible. And also a testimony that remains after life, not only of how they died but also how they lived.

  6. Magic Knight Rayearth (both seasons)

    Card Captor Sakura (original series)

    Kobato

    Pretear

    Petite Princess Yucie

    Magic Users Club

    Flip Flappers

    My Hime/Otome

Little Witch Academia (tv series & OVAs)

    Magical Project S

    Sasami Magical Girl Club

Corrector Yui (what episodes were released in US)

    Sailor Moon (original series)

    Figure 17 (maybe qualifies ?)

Magical Girl Ore (probably not 😜

  7. I wasn't expecting anything great after the first episode, but actually thought it was a decent prospect for the season. I didn't mind that it wasn't historically accurate & was even prepared for it to get kinda ecchi after the time skip. But I was totally unprepared for how cringey it got in the second episode & their depiction of Jeanne was completely unlikeable.  I gave it one more episode to try to redeem itself somewhat, but nope still hated it. When I say I dropped it, I don't mean onto the backlog pile,  I mean dropped into the bottomless abyss never to return.

  8. Probably showing my age here but this pretty much sums up my view:

"I grew up being taught to try to end life's journey with the same number of holes in your body as you started with." -- Red Green (aka Canadian comedian Steve Smith)

  9. For me it all started with the Iscandar & Comet Empire arcs of Star Blazers which forever changed my perceptions of what animation could be like. Was so into it and I would actually set my alarm when school was out for the summer just to watch it & then go back to bed afterwards because it was on at like 5 or 6 am. Watched all the syndicated stuff like Battle of the Planets, Tranzor Z, Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, etc.  I missed out on Toonami because I didn't have cable back then. Started buying anime VHS tapes in the 90's (the ADV/Suncoast era). Not exactly sure what my first subtitled anime purchase was, but pretty sure it was either Ranma 1/2, Project A-ko or Devil Hunter Yohko. I actually got away from anime for awhile when the emphasis shifted over to streaming since I didn't use to have a reliable internet connection. But since moving a couple years back, I've gotten back into it in a big way. Some of my more recent faves are My Hero Academia, Yuru Camp & Konosuba.

So from what I am gathering here we are speaking of series that will likely never see a renewal. In my case I would have loved to see a season 2 of Fruits Basket at the time. There was one planned, but sadly it just did not pan out. Another that I would love a season 2 of is a series called Kajio. Its a sports echi series that is drawn very well, and has great story. It just ended after one season. Thats all I can honestly think of currently since most anime I watch tend to satisfy me even though a good number end early compared to their source manga. Though its anime not manga it isn't exactly cheep to produce so I am understanding of that even if I am slightly saddened by the ending of some series.

Not sure if it qualifies as a season 2, but ...

  11. Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation definitely needs to pick up where things left off (an OVA series or movie at the very least).  Same with Land of the Lustrous.

For an old school shonen title, Flame of Recca.

And even though they’re not well reviewed, I personally would like to see Princess Resurrection & Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero get continued.

  12. There are a number of series I would like to go back & rewatch in their entirety (The original Cardcaptor Sakura & all seasons of Slayers are just a few examples that come to mind), but I simply don't have time (maybe when (if :P) I retire

I do go back and re-watch specific episodes sometimes (usually from something fun like Azumanga Daioh) if I need something to make me smile/relax/put me in a better mood.

Please help. I cannot remember this anime i watched when i was twelve. The anime started with a girl being given an artefact by her father. That artefact contained a demon boy who was supposed to destroy the world. It also had a weird old guy wearing a cone over his crotch. The ending of the anime series had the girl turn into a giant and put the demon boys head in her breast

That would definitely be Jungle de Ikou!

    - Guy and Girl each have a colorful pistol/gun (guy has a blue one, and girl has an orange one i think)
    - I think they are cops maybe
    - artstyle is like pokemon/sailor moon i think

I don't think they were funky colors. maybe brown/black. The cover of the anime movie was the girl and the guy holding there guns aiming towards us (i think) sorry

Are you sure the guns were odd colors? This was the only thing I came up with so far

  14. I don't  do coffee. I blame my dad for giving me a taste of his (straight black Folgers) when I was about 4 years old (just thinking about it makes my eyes water).

I can't live without sweet tea though (cold, I don't really like hot beverages)
