  I dislike downvotes when it's used as a means to be sarcastic or an asshole. The only ones I've received have been used in such a manner. And it's like "why"?

  Hahaha, downvotes hurt a hell of a lot less than a punch to the face. For myself, a downvote is often a relatively benign way to express extreme disagreement without taking the topic further into the muck. I have actually only given out 3 downvotes in MY ENTIRE LIFE. I tend to reserve them for special cases.

  Yeah, I agree with @[2178:Cy~]. Better to downvote than turn it into a flame war. But of course, I only downvote with people I find hard to approach. With you, @[2128:Nectar]? You're friendly enough that I would never downvote you. :D
