Who is your favourite anime character of all time?
Optic replied to NightDancer's topic in Anime Discussion
Oh gosh that's a tough one... I think I know how you guys felt when you gave me grief for making you have to narrow down your two most favourite anime Opening/Ending themes for that AN Compilation #01 soundtrack. I have a few candidates in mind from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam SEED/Destiny or even Code Geass... will get back to you after I finish watching the first season of it. In the meantime, what is yours? -
I have none actually but now you make me feel like wanting them too! I only have anime plushies. They look really nice and beautiful! =D

I re-watched Elfen Lied with my best friend! It's her favourite anime and I got her the box set ^^ Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van AN Community Forums

Pretty good! I particularly like the weapons: definitely above average. During the last anime convention I attended, I noticed Attack on Titan was a pretty popular cosplay. All those brown jackets and green capes. I'm just waiting for someone to take it to the next level by propelling around with those jump packs (I can dream)..

I heard bad reviews about the anime due to lots of fan service so I hope I get a surprise and its better than what the reviewers say it is. I definitely like the sound of the plot.

Btoom is a nice series, not sure about the anime, but I've read the manga

Log Horizon is similar to Sword Art Online with a few differences such as they can't die in Log Horizon since they just get reborn again. So far I prefer SAO. The other anime I mentioned are about people working in an office where they try to help the public with their problems. The main character is just working at the office because she wants revenge on a staff member that worked there that allowed her parents to let them name her a very very very long name because they could not decide what to name her. There are other animes showing but I haven't watched them yet since I had to leave early.

I did hear somewhere that Team Rocket changed a bit recently, they had a different motto and also, they started winning battles which was amazing! I do wish Pokemon could be changed up a lot more. I wish Ash wouldn't leave his Pokemon behind Also, one thing I did like... I don't watch it anymore but I did see that Charizard came back for a short while. It was cool to see the footage of the anime showing a flashback of Ash and Charmander/Charizard, seriously it was cool seeing how much the animation had changed from the original. I think it would have been cool for the creators to get to re-draw a scene like that and see how much it had changed. Have any of you seen it? I could show it to you.

It's a really good anime! Only sometimes it feels so rushed and the ending of the Alfheim Online was really creepy =( Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van AN Community Forums

I think the anime became quite boring because it's always the same. Ash leaves his Pokemon behind to start over again, catches new ones and always at least one of the starters. Ash arrives somewhere team rocket still wants pikachu, they catch him or another Pokemon, ash gets them back, team rocket blows up Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van AN Community Forums

As harsh as it sounds, I grew up. The anime, for all intents and purposes, was geared towards children. As an adult, I find myself no longer enjoying it. That, and some of the decisions Ash has made throughout the series irk me.

My favourite seasons are the first season and the Orange Islands I liked how in the Orange Island season it wasn't connected to a game so the anime writers could do anything they wanted to. Really weird though how I noticed while re-watching the first season that all of his badges were handed to him

Oh, poor Docklands! It has received a lot of criticism. Its had a bit of bad luck. Its main attraction is the Melbourne Star which is an observation wheel which will slowly go around and you are supposedly meant to be able to see great views of Victoria. Unfortunately this wheel had many faults and had to be closed down for years. This meant that a lot of local businesses situated in the Docklands have struggled since the tourism just isn't there. Luckily, the wheel is up and running again, it almost got closed down again. I haven't been on it since none of my friends are game enough to go on it due to its troubles. I know that in Singapore and London they have similar wheels but they're much better. I would suggest anyone who goes to the Docklands to go on the observation if they really want to but I have heard its nothing special since most of the views are blocked by big buildings. Sigh. My favourite place to go when at the Docklands though is Glow In The Dark Mini-Golf. It's really nice. Perfect for a date or a fun day out with family and friends. www.glowgolf.com.au/ Docklands also have boat cruises as well. I am yet to go on one but they look really cool. You can go on a cruise that has theatre live entertainment or just a simple buffet or three course meal. I agree with Optic. Definitely go to the Queen Victoria Market and the Skydeck. The Skydeck is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately I believe that there isn't much to do in the Docklands so those travelling Melbourne are best to go to other parts of the city or state. For amusement parks, we have Luna Park which is right next to the St Kilda beach and its just a tram ride away. I would also suggest visiting China Town. There are some really nice clothes shops for girls there. Melbourne also has some really cool themed restaurants. There's even a Titanic inspired theatre restaurant. Melbourne has lots of theatre restaurants such as Witches in Britches and Dracula's. We also have some really cool bars. For the anime fan, there are Robot Bar and the Asian Beer Cafe. I would strongly suggest Asian Beer Cafe over Robot Bar, only cause the cocktails are cheaper and better there. Also, go into the toilets while you're there cause they're kind of unique. There is also, Chill On Ice which is an interesting bar where you go below freezing temperatures and have a nice cocktail drink in a frozen glass. Everything in there like the tables and chairs are made out of ice! http://www.chillon.com.au/ We also have outdoor cinemas. There's one in the city called the Rooftop Cinema. rooftopcinema.com.au/ There are a lot of nice places which are an hour away from Melbourne - they include Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm - that's where you can pick strawberries and you can also buy the most amazing strawberry desserts. We also have lots of fun mazes around. There are also some nice drive in cinemas still around as well such as www.drivein.net.au/ and www.lunardrive-in.com.au/ There's probably more I can think of... haha.

Watching Chuunibyou Ren, Wake Up Girls, Imocho, Noragami and Watamote. Noragami is IMO the best anime this season.

I still post in my old LiveJournal. It is always a great way to express myself. I think I do agree that Facebook killed blogging when it came to personal diary entries since it was easier just to write a Facebook post about it but blogs are still widely used for restaurant reviews and for some anime reviewing sites as well. Blogs are not dead but what they have been used for have changed, I think. Optic, why don't you use LJ anymore? I think you can get friends from add me communities and I would always reply to you. I didn't have anyone commenting to me for ages on my LJ and then slowly people did admit they were reading. I was shocked!

Careers/Education Finished High-School Degree in Chemistry and Communication. Yes two Uni-courses. Freelance Model Used to work at a company as an office manager/secretary as a job on the side Full time communication trainer, specialist and a manager. I run two departments in two different companies. Communication trainer as in I teach people an communication concept so they can get a contract out of a prospect (sales department). It's fun, I love it that I can teach other people things and meet new people every week. Hobbies: Modeling, as much as it is my job and I earn money of it. I love to model and yes it actually is exhausting. Videogames! Whenever I have a chance to play games I do that, together with friends or my boyfriend. Music, it is still one of my favourite things in the world. I still go to concerts and festivals a lot! Movies! I go to the cinema a lot...like at least 3 times a month haha. Anime/Japan is also still there in my life. I got my boyfriend into it too and I've actually cosplayed last Weekend and created my own costume (always fits better than buying it off the internet and it's the way you want it) and in February we're going to cosplay together. Cats, I am adopting cats from a shelter who need a second chance. One day I hope to have a house with a big backyard which I can set off so they can't escape but still can play out in the open with things I will put in my garden. Why can't they go out of your backyard then? Well I don't want them to get run over or get hurt by a cat hater but don't worry I want a huge garden. Relationships/misc: I've been together with my current boyfriend for almost 2 years and 2 months. We are living together since we were dating for 5 months (he moved in with my parents) and we have our own place for a little bit more than a year. I am not a gothic girl anymore on the outside but I still have it in me. My love for black will always stay and I do go to those gothic related fairs and dress up as an elf or anything else. I even model for a designer of Within Temptation. I 'm a real blondie now, stopped dying my hair for 6 years now I believe.

Since AN: Graduated high school Studied a Bachelor of Media and Communication (majoring in Journalism) and graduated in November Had newspaper articles published in the Geelong Advertiser Work as a Cashier/Supervisor at Coles Supermarkets since 2010 - in October I transferred from Mornington Coles to Tooronga and its going to be a long journey but it means I will get the chance to improve my supervisor skills in closing and opening the store Decided to go back to university in July this year after the job market being so bad - currently studying a Master of Communication but still thinking if this is the right decision - maybe I should do teaching? I really don't know Finally moved out of home in September this year Joined an anime club in 2011, became the president a few months later and really improved the club - it felt like what AN would be like if it existed in real life - after graduating uni I was vice president until conflicts made me leave the club if I had known I was going to go back to uni I would have stayed as president I suppose Finally had a long term real life boyfriend! No more online relationships for me! His name is Alex and I have been dating him since 14th September, 2012

What I've really admired with Japanese media is the packaging and extras are usually stylishly... intricate. The first two Sword Art Online Bluray volumes I bought came with plastic sleeve protectors. Absolutely stunning packaging and a nice collectors box: As for the money making, so true! Each volume cost me 6800 yen. And the Mobile Gundam SEED Bluray complete set I bought... well the cost was ridiculous. But I really feel the studios deserve it. I only started buying Anime recently for the ones that I found touching. Gundam SEED and SAO touched me, so I went out and bought them. Slightly off-topic I also tend to grab the OST, artbooks and figures (if they're still available and of a nice quality build). PS3 games are region free, I know this because I used to buy PS3 games from a Hong Kong online retailer because it was cheaper ($40-$50 USD versus the absurd $80-$110 AUD here for a new release) and they worked fine on my PS3. But SOME Blu-Ray movies do have region coding. Basically: (with a few exceptions) A: East Asia B: Africa, Europe, Oceania C: Central Asia The Hong Kong Blu-Rays I buy normally come in Region A... they won't play on my PS3 because we're Region B... <_<On the PS3 you can't change the coding whereas on some standalone Blu-Ray players you can... anyway I just play them on my PC's Blu-Ray player which I set to Region B.

Did anyone watch this? It's a mecha anime that started a few weeks back. The title is kinda silly but there's an explanation behind it and the show shared the same art style as Gundam SEED. So far I find it to be decent but the opening is great imo.

Hello iMon!! How have you been, and how is Online Digimon going? Noticed the main site is down, is it undergoing renovation? Regarding Digi Legends... well I wanted to start expanding to other anime titles outside Digimon Frontier. We've pretty much exhausted the Digimon Frontier side of things. The community also shared this feeling too, so it was the best way to help get everyone involved in projects that they'd be interested in doing (there's only so much I can do by myself in terms of content, especially since now I'm working full-time). On a more technical note you will also have noted we're on the IPB suite. So far it's working out great having a single sign in without needing to use bridges (we were using Coppermine on the old gallery which felt disjointed with the main site). And welcome aboard. I must come down and visit your forums again sometime.
