Extreme Anime Potential: HTC Vive

Bard

Recommended Posts

I recently got a chance to play with the HTC Vive, i'm not going into detail on how I got to play with it but its awesome.

When I put that thing on it felt like I was in another world, normal VR gives you the sense of being somewhere else, but adding on the ability to interact with things using your hands and to be able to actually walk around makes it so much more.

Now on to the important part

Imagine the possibilities with the Vive...

Horror games(Spooky), Sports games, Adventure games where you could actually fight a dragon, Gun games where you could actually be in the fight.

You may be thinking "Bard, this probably isn't what your making it out to be. the motion controls cant be that good... I mean you ca-" WRONG, Shut up, no one cares. These aren't your average Wii motion controls, these are life like, I couldn't tell the difference between when I moved in real life versus when I moved in the VR.

Now on to the more important part *

Anime, think about that for a second...

With VR capabilities like these there are sure to be you know.. anime games and sorts.

The reason i'm hesitant to go into more detail about this is because the internet is the internet. And the internet will always be the internet. And quite frankly, the internet will make new types of porn centered around anything they can find... I guess it cant be that bad.. or it could be THAT bad...

Awkward final notes

The HTC Vive is a amazing device in my eyes. I've never experienced anything like this in my life (Sorry past relationships, but you didn't make the cut). The product its self is extremely high quality and very realistic, I think a lot of good (and bad) games and programs will come out of this. The HTC Vive may lighten your pockets with its $800 (USD) price tag but I stongly believe it is worth every penny of that hefty amount of money.

Tell me what you think

* Hentai... I meant hentai

You could say the same about the RIFT which has been in the works much longer then the Vive and the controllers that are coming out in the summer feel more natural to use. But to be honest the only big difference between them are the games coming out and there is a lot more games coming out for the RIFT then the Vive. The makers of the Oculus Rift are refusing to sell jump scare games on the store which I agree with since it could really do some harm to some people. oculus-rift-angle-1434375720-p0mS-full-width-inline.thumb.jpg.56c6ec6dcad5e553158fbad2c830221c.jpg

And we cant forget the Playstation VR which to be honest has nothing compare to Vive and Rift but hey Hatsune Miku VR with it.

The prices are another big thing

Playstation VR: Around 300euro

Vive: close to 1,000euro

Rift: close to 800euro not including controllers which would cost another 200 so around the same price as vive

And as for Anime games Hatsune Miku is the only one I know atm for Playstation VR but I know IBM are making a Sword Art Online MMO for VR

True, and I have played with the Rift as well but overall I believe the Vive is a over all higher quality. If you would fork out 1000 euro for one of them i'd definitely go with the Vive over Rift. Of course this is a personal opinion and i'm going off my personal experiences only, don't call me out on specifics.

The NVIDIA GTX 980 works fine with VR, we tested them in class. (because this school with throw a lot of money into anything you ask them to, literally bought 10 of them for $6600 because we put in a request.) They worked fine. I don't know too much about AMD though so i cant give my input on that.

I always find NVIDIA to be better then AMD and I know the people who have their hands on the VIVE say they work really well with NVIDIA graphic cards.

A private school that costs way too much money. And they use their money on pointless things because, put simply, they can.

yeah its cause AMD is designed for dx 12 so NVIDIA has been outperforming them on dx 11 cause AMD build their cards for the future.

IDK why, but if you check performance between NVIDIA and AMD on DX 12 games, AMD preforms considerably better on DX 12 (a lot better)

NVIDIA will have to change their architecture to beat AMD on DX 12.

looking forward to see what they do ^_^

yeah im not sure if their are issues or not on NVIDIA cards, i haven't really looked into that much, as im not getting VR until it gets more games and support.

VR Porn already exists so there's that.

DOAX3 is getting a PSVR version.

Miku PSVR tech demo has you watching a Miku concert

In 2014 in one of Sony's existing VR has a tech demo of Im@s featuring 765pro. With Im@s PS4 already announced 2 years ago, Im@s VR is probably being produced.

VR, especially PSVR will be well supported by japanese titles, that's going to be the main difference between Vive, Rift and PSVR. While Vive, Rift will get many indieVR games and H-games (Illusion already supports Rift with one of the mods as I recall), PSVR has more japanese develop games because Japan has been Sony's territory and PC games doesn't sell in Japan unless its an H-games. (The reason why when some games comes to NA, they add a steam version because PC version sells well in NA)

My friend got a free google cardboard from pornhub since they were doing a free giveaway last week. PH is starting to push VRporn since Oculus/Vive is going to be coming in soon.

Ew. That' even more weird...
