This thread is to find out who was the best villain in Sword art online, I am not talking about the manga because I have not read it yet. I will only include villains from the anime show so far.

Well, i liked Heatcliff too, he would be the best villain for the sao part but i think sugou(in my opinion, his personality is a bit mental+psycho and a bit gross) so yh. Kayaba Akihiko actually helped Kirito quite much.

Kyouji Shinkawa. I felt like his character was very intense and unpredictable. The entire time you viewed him as this young kid and friend, and then you discover, well, he's evil and insane. xD It really blew my mind.
