What Anime Conventions are in your area?

I am in Illinois and live one hour away from the city of Chicago. The anime convention held around there are Anime ZAP in January, Con+Alt+Delete in December, Anime Central in May, Anime Midwest in June, and Anime Magic in August. I go to every one of these conventions every year save Anime ZAP because that one is the furthest away being two hours away. Anime Central is definitely the largest convention out of the ones I have listed. I am telling you that it is massive all in in convention center size, number of attendees, etc.). I think my favorite convention to attend is Con+Alt+Delete because it takes place in the winter season and I just love colder temperatures.

i could've sworn i commented in here before but!

my home con i grew up near is Youmacon in Detroit! we have a few other cons within an hour or two distance in state like Isshocon, Dokidokon, MiAnime, and JAFAX. Most of the bigger Midwest cons aren't super far either :3 (acens about a 4ish hour drive for me)

We just had anime Midwest here where I live. It's always held in Rosemont which is not far from where I live but I didn't go this year because I've had bad experiences there before. There's another con coming in August I'm going to.

There was Louisville Anime-Fest today not far from us that @Sakura and I went to. We didn't stay long and neither of us thought it was very good. The booths didn't have a lot of anything that interest us or good merch and no good panels going on or voice actors to meet. We ended up to leave after only around an hour.

I've been to several cons but not very many of the large ones. The large ones seem to be where you run into the worst kinds of people at. I enjoy the local smallish ones that don't get as much attention. Large cons to me are just good for going in and grabbing exclusive merch and then making a hasty exit.

I think it sounds both cool and nightmarish lol

This is exactly what I've always thought haha For me, I think I'd prefer a larger one so that I could sort of get lost in the crowd. Plus the larger ones are more likely to have industry people there, and that's probably what I'd be most excited for.

Just got done performing at J1-Con in Atlantic City last month. They'll be moving to Philly next year, and I'll definitely be there.

And in two weeks, a new one-day con is going on in Long Island, ExtravaCon. Got two games ready to go and hundreds in prizes ready to give away. And the whole family is going, which is the crazy part, my son and especially my wife helping with my shows for the first time. (My daughter is a vet at this now.)

I live in Texas and we have a ton of anime cons. Which is good, since it's so spread out. My favs are San Japan, Anime Frontier, and Weebcon. I used to list Animefest and A-kon on that list until they died, RIP.
Lots of other cons though. Anime North Texas is still struggling along, there are a number of cons that start with 'anime+city-name' even though they're not all affiliated (Anime Dallas, Anime Tyler, Anime Texas, etc). Ikkicon and Ushicon I used to go to and they're still around, too, I just can't make it out to them anymore due to time of year. I'm going to one called Otaku Odyssey next May. Anime Impulse is not a Texas con but they held a show here last weekend, too.

There's a big one here that I'm going to near my house soon ~ that's the only one I know of so far though I'm trying to go to anime MidWest this year but since I'm going on a cross country road trip with Zari over the Summer, I don't know if we'll be in the area at the time of it.

There's several in Orlando this year I'm going to and a smaller one nearer to my house. I'm taking my gf with me to one of the ones in Orlando and that'll be her first anime convention. We're thinking about cosplaying together but haven't decided on characters.
