Hello everyone, I've received a lot of feedback on the theme featuring the changing backgrounds since it was first introduced. A lot of visitors really enjoy how immersive the backgrounds were especially when they were fading between different ones in the set. However I also received some negative feedback: Fading backgrounds too distracting. Made text harder/distracting to read due to the transparency effect. Significantly increased loading times - the five wallpaper backgrounds added 2 MB to the page size. Not ideal for smartphones whilst on the go. Caused scrolling lag in some browsers - specifically Google Chrome (though the 64 bit version improves this significantly, it's not offered by default from Google's website). In the interest of responding to this feedback, I have made a variation of the theme called "Genki" and have set this as the default theme. "Genki" is ideal for those that prefer the minimalist look without the background images and removes the large spacing that was present on the top of the logo. If you prefer this theme, then no further action is required. To return to the changing background theme, just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the theme name here to change it back to "Sugoi". I really am open to feedback, and this is about giving choice for those that had performance concerns. Rest assured I will continue to maintain both themes equally. Thanks for your time. Hello everyone, I'm looking for a new set of wallpaper suggestions to help keep the background image rotation fresh. Please link or attach your full size wallpaper below. Resolution must be at least 1920x1080. Where possible choose a wallpaper that highlights the characters towards the top or sides as the content area will be obstructing the middle - though it is slightly transparent. No ecchi please. Look forward to your suggestions.

Just providing an update - I finished the beginners course end of last year and it made me crave for more. I'm going to try some self-study methods and try to nail the basic kana as I really want to try and read some of the script. And many of the textbooks out there have exercises in kana instead of romaji so definitely worthwhile in my opinion.

You'll definitely love it here then, clear skies, clear weather and beaches are plentiful here along the coast. Out of curiosity, how's your Internet connection there? Given Australian's current Internet situation with an aging copper network for broadband I wouldn't be surprised if it surpassed most of us here.

Sega. My most fond memories was playing Streets of Rage on the Sega Genesis. Really really fun with a killer soundtrack at the time. At the time I had a SNES as well and there were moments where I wish I had a Sega Genesis instead as the games did look more appealing on the Genesis...

Anime for me has been more about helping me to unwind and relax after work. A few titles have influenced me with those that have philosophical plots such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, PSYCHO-PASS and Ghost in the Shell.

Looks like you need a Groupon account to look at that link @Koumi. That's a tough choice out of all the ones in your list. Do any of those give you certifications that you can put on your CV/resume or are they just for general learning?

I see what you mean now. Unfortunately I can't add it to the system because you've customised it with your name. You see, the idea behind the Onii/Onee-chan bubble is to keep it generic so anyone can use it by choosing their desired character from this list: As @drill has suggested you can use the Stylish browser extension. This will allow you to pick any character and then change the image directly via a CSS override. Or you can attach the original image/render and I'll create one in the same style as the others (with the Onii/onee-chan speech bubble so anyone can choose it).

Ahh I see - yes admittedly I'm not very accustomed with abbreviated names. Going back on-topic, no other anime character names come to mind for me. Though I can think of plenty of video character names that definitely are weird.

I gave it another go using a different technique. The skirt and hair is a little jagged but it's the best I can do at this stage:

@ssjup81: yes - though I was actually thinking of another character that goes by TK too from Angel Beats: He blurts out random English words.

@drill: those three are now available for use now. @AkashiSeijuro: not sure what you mean sorry. If you want your request here, just attach the chibi image here and I can make one for you. It will be added to the list for everyone to use in their Preferences menu. If you prefer to make one yourself I can let you know what image dimensions and what font I use.

@drill: Unfortunately I couldn't do Kanade. The lines around her skirt are too faint to crop the background out: Plutia, Maki and Latifia now added:

Sure why not? Well perhaps you can start him off on some DVDs or Blu-rays? Let him watch offline as a starting point, How about Pokémon? If he finds that too tame, ramp it up a notch. By the sounds of it if his friends are watching gore movies then he's probably already desensitised already.

I remember seeing a Japanese software developer turning 2D animation into psuedo 3D using hybrids.
