I don't know about these characters, but from your description of their temperament I think that you've captured them very well and the background really suits them.

Yes I remember watching those grey & grey Apollo pictures and to see such hi quality real-time images during launch, reentry and splashdown was just amazing. If SpaceX pull off the double capture of booster and ship and I'm sure they will, it'll be something amazing to watch- even if only on YouTube.

I've just watched that on YouTube. After an impressive launch to then watch the booster return to its launch pad and be captured by the chopsticks was absolutely amazing! Shame it was nighttime where Starship landed because it was a bit hard to see what was going on, but the commentary said it had landed on target. In the comments on the video someone said that Starship exploded just after landing.

It looks bright outside, but I suspect it's quite chilly as the central heating came on this morning and the thermostat is set fairly low.

A day out with the family is always good, especially if they live a long way away. I'm glad you had a good day with them. You're right, that's one weird and creepy tree.

Being constructive

I'm not quite sure what defines "mainstream anime", but I come from the roughly the same anime era as you. I discovered anime by accident back in 1996 while TV channel hopping one evening when I was bored. So I watched a lot of the old 80's and 90's stuff as well as the 2000's series. So I offer you some of the more recent series that I think you might like: A Place Further Than The Universe. A Sign of Affection. Aquatope on White Sands. Hyouka. Yuru Camp. Days With My Stepsister. I think that may be enough for you to check out. I hope that some of them will interest you. I guess I'd be remiss for not mentioning my favourite series, but I suspect it's one you may have already seen given its age. Clannad & Clannad After Story.
