  1. Welcome aboard. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  2. While I'm not a fan of isekai, there are two series that I do like. They come from way back and probably before the term isekai was used for this type of series. The two are: Fushigi Yugi and Magic Knight Rayearth Both have interesting stories, good characters and lots of action. Both have two seasons, the second season of Fushigi Yugi is a continuation of the story. The second season of Magic Knight Rayearth is a new story that carries on from the first, and in my view is the better of the two.
  3. Yes, it was Lycoris Recoil. I should have made that a bit clearer.
  4. Difficult choice. I can't decide between: Rin Shima. Tomoya Okazaki. Nagisa Furukawa.
  5. I watched it. I thought it was not a bad series, but not a good one either. Some of the set-piece gun battles made no sense. The worst thing was the final battle with the chief bad guy, it doesn't matter if he's a human, a cyborg or a robot nothing is going to survive having enough lead shot poured into them to kill an entire infantry regiment, be thrown off a tower block, and then come back fighting several times over. It's certainly not a series I'd watch again.
  6. I've finished watching The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. This is a slice of Life series that follows the lives, loves and aspirations of a group of high school students who all live together in Sakurasou (Sakura Hall). Sakurasou is the dormitory where their school places those students that the school authorities see as trouble makers and misfits. Misfits they may be, but trouble makers they are not, eccentric would be a better way to describe them. The artwork and animation are good quality as is the soundtrack. The series starts off on a slightly uneven path as if it can't decide what it's supposed to be and at one point veers close to Harem Anime territory, but pulls back fairly quickly. Once it's over the uncertainness of the first few episodes the series settles down and becomes a fairly serious story, although not one without some comedy elements. I think the mix of serious and light-hearted scenes is one of the strong points of the series. Each character has his, or her, goal in life and the story follows their efforts both as individuals and as a group as they support each other and work together. Overall, while it did get off to a slow start it quickly developed into a good and interesting series that I'd be happy to watch again.

  8. Ouch! A special form is needed to complete the transaction, it's known as a P-90. The young lady will bring it with her, her name is Henrietta.
  9. I'm retired so I no longer have a job. Unless being a railway enthusiast and anime watcher counts as a job.
  10. This cute young lady from the Social Welfare Agency will be around shortly to discuss the details with you.

    Coffee

I don't like coffee, I did try it a couple of times, but decided I didn't like it so now I drink tea. Plain ordinary decaffeinated tea with milk. Curiously, while I don't like coffee as a drink I like coffee flavoured cakes, coffee and walnut being one of my favourites.
  12. Happy Birthday for tomorrow, I hope you have a very enjoyable day. I've a suspicion that the whole birthday thing was invented by the greetings card manufactures.
  13. Three of my favourite series for de-stressing are: Aria: The Animation: a laid back and totally stress-free series. Yuru Camp: watching Rin and her friends will take away any stress you're suffering from. and of course... Cardcaptor Sakura: everyone's favourite Magical Girl will soon banish your stress.
  14. I think there's two types of being "lost". 1. Where you don't know where you are. 2. Where you know where you are, but don't know how to get to where you want to be. Before I got a Sat-Nav I often got lost in both ways! (I have no sense of direction)
  15. Having looked through my anime list I can only think of three main characters who died and stayed dead. Kaori Miyazono: Your Lie in April. Sakura Yamauchi: I Want To Eat Your Pancreas. Roy Focker: Macross TV. There's probably a few more from series I haven't watched.
  16. Thank you. (Nagisa's help is always welcome.)
