  1. I haven't played on a PS Vita, but it's choice of games seems to suit me more than those the DS currently has, though I haven't played the DS in a long time.
  2. Krul is love, Krul is life.
  3. Stretch first, then yawn.

  4. I personally prefer pc gaming though I've gamed longer on my X-box partly because I lacked the funds to go out and purchase a decent pc as well as the wide variety of games I already had on my xbox.
  5. Do you prefer to watch anime that are airing or do you prefer to wait until after they're finished? For me, I prefer to watch the anime after they've aired because I'll lose track of what's going on, especially if I'm watching more than one at a time. What about you guys?

    Hello!

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here. I know I'm enjoying mine thus far.~
  7. That's probably smarter and in the end cheaper considering the prices for xbox live. Still, building a computer is pretty expensive too. Tell me how it goes though!
  8. I normally play games on my pc these days so an x-box 1 would be a waste of my money.
  9. I'm not really a big music fan lol. The only real music I listen to outside of anime (during the episode) is the radio.
  10. I still enjoy playing the zombies on them both using my obsolete X-box 360. I still haven't played Bo3. ;3;
  11. I can't really say I'm excited for a new CoD. I stopped buying their games years ago plus it's almost a given that they'll make a new game every year. I never really played Battlefield, but what I have played, I enjoyed much more than the repetitive Call of Duty.
  12. Note: Before reading realize there are some spoilers in the second paragraph. Nisekoi is an anime that miraculously manages to take a large number of overused anime cliches and surprisingly make them enjoyable for both the new anime fans and the old. The anime takes these cliches and combines them with stunning visuals and animation and brings them to life in a rom-com that surprised me as well as many others. Nisekoi is set in a peaceful town where, Ichijou Raku, the son of a Yakuza gang leader, is forced to date a girl whom he has a grudge against for various reasons, because she is the daughter of an enemy gangs leader. They date in order to keep the two rival gangs at bay and maintain the towns peaceful aura. Of course they’re both against it, but, both comply with their fathers wishes and to keep their friends and family, as well as their town, safe. Raku, however, frets over his long lost “wife” whom he had promised to marry years prior, their only connection being held between a key she carries and a lock she gave him. However, after this twist of events in his life, Raku is thrown into a circle of events (arcs), where he manages to unwillingly seduce several more girls, ignorant of the fact each of them loves him (with one exception) while still looking for the holder of the key, his future wife. Anyways, this anime has eye catching animation and character designs, and is altogether fluent. Each character has a unique design and an interesting background. The soundtrack of the anime is catchy and the opening’s animation and color is just as, if not more, of an eye catcher as the actual anime, showcasing (however quick some of them might be) all the characters you’ll be introduced too over the course of the anime. However, I felt the script was the best part of this anime. As I mentioned earlier, the anime uses an absurd amount of cliches as it’s main source of humor and plot. Normally, an anime like this would go unnoticed by the masses and would most likely be ridiculed by the majority of those who did watch it all the way through. However, Niskoi’s script is well written and these jokes actually seem entertaining, regardless how many times you’ve heard them. The characters and plot are much like the anime’s script; they are cliche and overused. But once again, the writers keen abilities allowed him to write such a cliche, yet alluring script, characters and plot while still managing to entertain a majority of viewers. However, at 20 episodes, this anime can stretch itself out at points and most of the content, though funny, is overused. This overuse of cliche jokes can get people who are picky about what they watch upset, causing them to drop it. This anime also lacks a definite ending, as Raku does not pick a girl at the end of the anime whom he has decided to love (which, would be fixed if a third season is introduced). So should you watch Nisekoi (False Love)? If you’re new to anime or don’t mind watching a harem, go for it. I think you’d enjoy it as Nisekoi is quite a popular (which, for the most part, it deserves) harem and the cast as well as script is lively. However, if you don’t like cliche anime or unoriginal content, Nisekoi is probably not the anime for you as it is entirely comprised of such content, from it’s story to it’s jokes. Nisekoi is also not for people who want a definite ending. So far, the series (anime wise) has not finished (though I believe the manga has) and Raku has not made a decision on what girl to date. If you don’t mind the jokes, but do mind the indecisive ending, read the manga. I haven’t read all of it myself, but from what I have read, it’s just as enjoyable as the anime itself.
  13. I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but why don't we watch anime together? Like, we vote upon an anime to watch and watch an episode of an anime (over x amount of time) and then discuss the anime?
  14. That is Shiro from No Game No Life. Nice figurine though.
  15. For me, a lot of the older anime is better just because it has a better story (in most cases) though the art isn't normally the best.
  16. I'd volunteer because I do have a lot of free time, but I'm also newer and probably not as qualified as those above me. ;3; However, if something comes up, I'd love to help!

  18. I'm pretty lucky with my selection. One of the few perks about living in California is the wide variety of shops that open up all over the place, including a decent number of local anime shops that carry everything if you hit one or two of them. However, I don't normally buy anime, I buy manga.
  19. Shiro is cuter, to me and gets a lot more screen time and bonds/grows more with the audience.~ Why not use a website and/or document to track where you are on each anime you're currently watching?
  20. Since I normally watch things after they're finished airing, I haven't actually watched everything that aired in winter. However, I'll talk about everything I did watch and why I did or didn't enjoy it. Note: there will be spoilers, though I'll try to keep them minimal. Boku dake ga inai machi (9/10)- This was, by far, the best anime that aired this season (to me). The animation, story and OST was great though the ending could have had some work. Another problem this anime faced, be it intentional or not, is that it was downright obvious who the murderer was, which, for me, took away a lot of the pleasure this anime could have given me. However, I really grew attached to the characters, something I felt the ending ruined (for most of them). However, I really enjoyed it's general idea and the way the story played out. Even though you most likely knew who the killer was, the characters didn't meaning, even if you didn't get the pleasure of figuring out who the murderer is w/ the facts, you still get a similar feeling watching others do the same within the anime. TL;DR- This anime is pretty good up till the ending and the fav. of the season (for me). Hai to Gensou no Grimgar (7/10)- This anime was, to me, quite boring at many parts. It had very little action, which was the primary reason I watched it, and even if there was action, I don't feel the shots of said action were in the right positions. The action, wasn't very well done. The only other thing the anime had going for it in this area was it's focus on human emotion, which I feel it also failed at. Yes, they had the general idea down to a key, and it was well done overall, but they tended to skip over the key areas that were highly important. I felt the OST was well done, and, as much as I love pastel coloring and despite how badly I wanted to see it be the art style of an action anime, it felt bland. The art made most of the scenes seem more peaceful than they truly were and the characters and art didn't blend that well. I did like, alone, both the art and character designs, and I felt the characters were well written. This anime really did take an interesting take as they placed the monsters fighting for their own cause, which was similar to that of the humans, so I gave it points for that. TL;DR- This anime took an interesting side that most don't but left a lot to be desired. Kono Subarashi... (6/10)- In all honestly, this anime, in aspects of doing what it wanted to do, did better than Grimgar. The animation was better as were the jokes, which were it's main selling points. This is also why I didn't like this anime much. To me, this was a cliche action harem anime that relied on it's silly jokes to make you overlook it's problems. It was one of those blown out of proportions anime when it comes to their story telling and enemies. This can be, if done correctly, really fun. However, the art and story telling didn't seem to go together and I didn't really feel attached to half the main cast. I did enjoy some of the jokes in the anime, but it seemed to be kicking a dead horse by the end of the series with some of their more prominent jokes. This anime doesn't fail to pull a laugh out of you in almost every episode, but it's how often they do it as I found myself laughing less and less at each episode. I also feel this anime left a lot of questions to be answered that weren't though the concept was also, in it's own way entertaining and yet, at the same time extremely cliche. TL;DR- It was an ok idea with ok humor that only continued to repeat itself. Dagashi Kashi (6/10)- This anime, like Kono Subarashi, had it's fair share of funny jokes. However, the jokes seemed to get less and less funny, even as they continued to kick a dead horse in much the same way. The difference between the comedy is that Kono tried implementing new jokes more often than Dagashi did. Dagashi sets up a legitimate story line that I could have found myself enjoying, regardless the witting, but after the first episode, it proceeded to trash the idea of a plot and continued itself just like time had stopped for 11 more episodes. Overall, I felt this anime went no where and seemed like a waste of time as the jokes also didn't go anywhere new. I did, however, learn quite a bit about candy. I did feel the OST and animation were above Kono's, which is why the two have the same score. TL;DR- This anime trashed it's entire concept after episode 1. GATE Season 2 (6/12)- GATE really lost it's glamor to me as things settled down on the new planet. I didn't get to see a lot of people getting shot and it lost some of it's humor. Yes, GATE did a better job of hitting it's jokes than the other two anime and the animation and OST were decent too, though, Seaons 1 set a high bar and I feel season 2 failed to reach and/or surpass that bar. They did hit new jokes, which kept me entertained, but they seemed to skim over the action scenes even more than the original season did and they took a more innocent stand unlike the first season. The anime also skimmed through a lot of other subjects I felt should have been put into more detail and quickly introduced new characters, even those that stayed. TL;DR- Season 2 didn't surpass the first season. It dropped the bar as it skipped key areas and action. Dimension W (5/10)- This is one anime I didn't really like, unlike the vast majority of it's audience. I felt Dimension W's soundtrack wasn't as good as that of other anime as I skipped the OP for the second half of the series (something I don't normally do). To me, this anime just wasn't aesthetically pleasing. I liked how it was out there and crazy at parts, but at the same time I didn't. The anime does wrap itself up in a decent way, though I felt they could have put more into the story (which I would actually give a 6-7/10) to make it better (as space was there) but they also skimmed over quite a few things I felt could have been expanded upon. The anime really lacked life in a good amount of their characters, only really breathing it into 1-3 of them. Dimension W also lacked explanations on some of it's core features, primarily Dimension W itself, even at the end of the series. This is, to me, a big mistake Sci-fi shows should never make- explaining how the world changed and/or it's main concept. TL;DR- This anime failed to explain key concepts. Schwarzesmarken (5/10)- This anime, unlike Dimension W, did hit all of it's core factors and changes. However, it lacked the depth I felt it needed considering the stance they seemed to have taken on things. It was interesting as they focused on the politics of things and kept the world divided even though they're losing a war to aliens, something I can actually see happening, but made the politics of the matter child like. They didn't put much thought behind it. I felt a lot of this anime could have easily been trumped had someone pointed out some obvious facts in the anime. I also felt the characters lacked depth and were easily changed (as in 5 minutes they're a different person). The OST was iffy to me but the animation was decent. TL;DR- The anime had mature aspects it handled in a childish manner and it had bad characters. Over the course of the season, I also watched some of the shorter anime, though I don't feel they need to be discussed as they weren't really meant to have a thick plot and most likely weren't as well funded as the other anime on this list. I know I haven't seen everything this season, as there are plenty of other anime that aired (and plenty of others from this season I'd like to watch). Also, just so no one gets upset, these are all my opinions and I'm not trying to force anyone to agree with them. I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to anime as I'm a tough person to please. Some of these opinions are also partly based on my personal preference when it comes to what an anime contains, though I try to keep it based off of a more "logical" standpoint. Also, sorry if I lost you at the end; I spent quite a bit of time writing this and, as it went on, I became less enthusiastic about writing (though I continued on to finish and post this anyways). All titles have TL;DR just in case (since most people keep these things short) and I hope you enjoyed reading my opinions.~
  21. As it stands overall I feel Log Horizon is better the Sword Art Online, though each of them have their own good qualities. Both of them take a different approach to being trapped in a game and they also put give out different information regarding how they got there. I feel one's opinion is based primarily off their tastes rather than the actual quality of the show. Log Horizon hits a more political stance when it comes to the affects of being in a game and makes you think a bit (not much at some times) than Sword Art Online does. Log Horizon, however, does leave out how they got into the game and are saving that answer for their finale that may or not may not be coming up in a future season(s). Sword Art Online, however, takes a more action adventure stance when it comes to being trapped in a video game. As the series (or the first half) is much shorter than the so far 2 seasons (though they also haven't finished the story) of Log Horizon, it does a lot more explaining. Because Log Horizon is longer, it also tends to take things slower than Sword Art, which, to some, seems to have rushed through it's primary story, skipping a lot of what it was advertised for (action). However, both anime have decent OST and are about people being trapped in video games and the affects that may or may not have on them. Each of them is realistic in their own way (Log Horizon focusing more on how people would react and build themselves up whereas Sword Art Online is more about trying to escape in an action romance). I feel Sword Art Online's animation was much better than that of Log Horizons, but I feel that Log Horizon is written better. Overall, the opinion the anime should probably stand between whether you like a more action oriented anime or if you want something more mentally based. TL;DR- The two of them are like apples and oranges. They both stem off of tress but are fundamentally different.
  22. I'm pretty sure this is how you send messages? Anyways, I wanted to ask about you're writing competition. Like, does it need to be a fanfic or can it be anything? And does it have to follow a theme and be written like a story or can it be written as a poem?

As long as it follows the guidelines I set forth, it doesn't matter what it is as long as it's nothing inappropriate.
