  1. So it seems that the film was simulcast after all. It's up on Kissanime which means it had to have been taken from Crunchyroll for it to appear there. Anyway, I saw the film in theaters yesterday and the gift with the movie ticket was a Meikomon card. Anywho,I liked this one best out of the ones we've gotten so far. It was pretty emotional, and felt bad for Takeru, but he was definitely showing off that "hope" trait that he's well-known for. "Zettai daijoubu" was pretty much his motto for this movie. Believing and hoping that nothing would go wrong, that Patamon and the others wouldn't become like Meikomon. Takeru talked with Meiko quite a bit. She was the only one to know what Takeru was going through since she could relate. Koushirou was stressing out the entire time and even got into an argument with Mimi over Meiko. He wanted answers and he wasn't being very sensitive to Meiko's feelings. Mimi called him out on that and they argued (both were right, though...Koushirou just needed to use tact in his approach) until Sora told them both to stop. For the rest of the film, Koushirou stayed in his office. He didn't even go back to school. I will assume his parents didn't realize he was gone all that time? Geez. He was desperate to figure out how to help the Digimon, cause of the infection, etc. Later on, Hikari went into trance mode, and revealed to the Digimon a secret and how to kinda sorta beat their infection. . This part of the film, I need to watch again...so I shall definitely do so to catch all that I missed due to the explanations being confusing. The Digimon then knew what had to be done. This was the sad part. The Digimon went to hang out with their human partners. Yamato was like, "Okay, what's going on?" to Gabumon. lol Taichi was pointing out how strange Agumon was acting. Stuff like that since everything was so sudden. . After all was said and done, the kids went on about their lives... Anyway, at the end, the kids go to the Digital World. Earlier, Takeru went to see Meiko and was explaining how they were all planning on going to the Digital World, but she refused...but at the last minute, changed her mind. To open a gate, Koushirou was trying, but couldn't. "Villainessmon" (thank you for that name @senshikoi lol) showed up with Ken's D-terminal and D3. With that, they were able to open a gate and go through. After they arrived, Jou was going on about how nostaligc it was being back in the Digital World. Jou also seemed to be the one saying, "Don't worry" or something like that, over being back. They went in search of their partners, but Hikari kept sensing something "wrong". Anyway, they hears a whistle, followed the sound, and saw Tokomon blowing the whistle Hikari had originally given to Tailmon at the end of Adventure. Nyaromon was complaining that it was her whistle, but Tokomon was hogging it. At the end, we see Kaiser Ken watching them. At the beginning, Takeru and Hikari went to Ken's place, but there was no answer. But man, that ending. Next movie features Sora with Hououmon. So, it's interesting. In Adventure, Jou and Mimi's Digimon first went to their perfect levels in the real world while everyone else's partners did so in the Digital World. For movie 2, their partners went ultimate in the real world. Just interesting.... Oh and we learn of how Meiko and Meikomon met and for one part, Meiko pointed out how motherly Sora was and Sora was all huffy about that. Reminds me of that Love Letter drama how they joked and said Sora was like an old woman because of how motherly she was. So yeah, really liked this one.
  2. There's always Gundam. Been around since I think 1977 so you have a lot to choose from.
  3. I know, odd topic, but...just thought I'd post this here anyway as it's part of the culture. So one thing that does interest me about Japan are the social issues this country has...and of course, one of the most interesting to me is women. I've mentioned this before, but 101 East, last year, did this video talking about women in Japan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSozUMIQTQ0 The first thijng they open with, is a maid cafe...the one I went to, ironically. lol Not that specific one, but that brand.
  4. Okay everyone, time for some randomness from me and I think I'll waste it on Digimon Adventure Tri and my thoughts on it. For this, it's not necessarily about the series itself...but just reflection so please share if you'd like. I didn't want to clutter up the official Tri thread. So far, I don't feel it's all that great. It's okay, and I guess I feel that way because of convenient memory loss of the characters regarding their friends. One of the things this series in general seems to put a lot of focus on are friendships and the importance of those. It still bothers me that the Adventure 02 set are being so blatantly ignored and forgotten, but I'm still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since Ken as the Kaiser was around (even though it was just a copy) and in the first movie, it had that Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, and Ken were missing. How can you conveniently forget that your friends are missing or that they even existed? The more this series is going on, the more I'm hoping it's Taichi's fever dream. Now, some of the things some fans are getting nutty over are the pairings (possible ones). At the end of Adventure 02, as you know, it did a time skip and showed what each child grew up to become and who they married (if it was within the group). Yamato married Sora and Ken married Miyako. I personally didn't have a problem with the final pairings. I was fan of both, ironically, along with a whole bunch of others so…if I was as invested in ships or took it seriously, no matter the outcome, more than likely, it would've ended with a pairing that I liked. Now, for Tri, seems they are hinting at Takeru and Hikari (much to my dismay and I need to get over my stubbornness to admit it) and Koushirou and Mimi (call me a hypocrite based on what I just said about Takeru and Hikari). I kind of wish that for Koushriou x Mimi, it was more…subtle? Koushirou is so darn obvious, it's ridiculous…yet cute. I guess I wish that his liking towards Mimi was more of subconscious thing as opposed to even him probably realizing that he has a crush on Mimi and I'm most certain that she probably has. I guess I just never imagined that a character like his would be obvious about liking a girl. Now that I think about it, outside of characters like Miyako or Daisuke and maybe Mimi, I couldn't imagine any of the characters being obvious about it. I only said maybe for Mimi because of the old Wondersawn game she was in where she openly flirted with Ryo after their battle. I probably shouldn't even count that, huh? Well, back to what I said earlier…only Daisuke and Miyako..the others, not so much. In the first movie (or either the previous one, I forget), Taichi and Yamato have some conflict and it felt incredibly forced. At least Adventure had an entire season to work that in…and I guess this is my number one problem with Tri so far. It's being shown as movies or like OVAs. Toei just should've done a proper television series and put that other Digimon series they're doing on the backburner. If Tri was being done like a proper show, then the pacing would be better, I feel. I'm like the biggest Koumi fan in the world and even I'm so-so with how the whole Koumi thing is playing out and would like it better if this was done throughout an entire series as opposed to how it's being done in the movies. If it was a normal series, maybe they could show the kids in school. I know that Koushirou kept in touch with Mimi over the years (just like I'm sure all of her friends did), but now that she's back and we know that Koushirou is crushing on her, why not show their interactions in a classroom setting? Since Mimi is a returnee, and the last film did get on it briefly, has she become friends with anyone yet? Is she only hanging around Koushirou in class? I know it's trivial, but that's something I would love for the movies to show. Other things I'm hoping for is for something interesting to happen regarding Sora. She's been pretty boring so far. I'm glad she still has that motherly way about her, but I kind of miss the fact that she doesn't seem to play tennis anymore, and it actually kind of shocked me that it hasn't been mentioned at all. Yamato still has his music, Taichi has soccer, Jou has always been very studious ( and now that I think about it, back in 02, they never mentioned if he had a club activity or not), Koushirou, I would assume, is still dealing with computers whether it's in school or out of it, but since he has an office (I STILL have to use a whole lot of suspension of disbelief for that one) and junk, his doing a school club probably isn't an option. Sora…nothing. See, if this was a full series, this could be something else that the show could briefly go into or mention. Speaking of clubs, I wonder what Hikari and Takeru do. It's mandatory for junior-high-school students to be in a club activity. I would assume Takeru would've been into basketball and maybe Hikari, a photography club or something else artsy. Okay, so, what do you truly think of Tri so far? What would you do to improve it?
  5. I could see a series like this existing. There are stories of people forming bands and stuff like that. Why not have one with a group trying to create an actual manga series? Seems pretty meta.
  6. No, sloth is right. This is very subjective. I don't like Neon Genesis Evangeleon...many people praise it. Are their opinions wrong just because the series couldn't hold my interest? No, because entertainment is very subjective because people like different things. I wouldn't state my opinion on the series as fact because it's exactly that...an opinion. No one should, really...
  7. That can definitely apply to Wada Kouji. Like a memorial theme to him.
  8. This is subjective since everyone's preferences differ. For instance, you feel these aren't good series for the reasons you mentioned whereas others view them differently. Many people seemed to like Neon Genesis Evangeleon but for me, it's not a good series. It didn't keep my interest. Same with Full Metal Alchemist. This doesn't mean that they're particularly bad...just that they don't appeal to me.
  9. I get that, but it still sounds more suitable as an insert theme as opposed to an ending theme.
  10. Nice song, but feels wrong as an ending theme to me. It just doesn't feel Digimonish to me. It also feels more like an insert theme.
  11. Seems that'd be a small amount though, since the only people who would be using Crunchyroll would be people who aren't from Japan, since it can't be used there, unless you use something to trick the system as you said. Seems that wouldn't affect sales too badly for native Japanese goers, but it does take only one. I even rewatch it despite going to the theater on kiss anime. It does suck, however that the films have limited theatrical releases.
  12. @senshikoi, I think it's coming out sometime in October for Crunchyroll
  13. Wow, I wonder why it won't be simulcast. That's just straight up evil. I wonder if it's due to the fact that they are dubbing it.
  14. Yeah. I'm rewriting the story. It's not completely finished yet, though, but some of it is there. It's a long story, though. The original was written back in like 2000 or 2001 or something like that. It's horribly written, imo, which is why I decided to try redoing it. Originally, the story idea came from a dream I'd had and I just wrote everything down and made a story out of it. Here it is if you're interested... https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11861962/1/Digidreams-do-come-True-2016 The story doesn't truly begin (as in Digital World stuff) until about chapter 10...sorta.
  15. Maybe one day I'll finally write a prequel story, but I didn't have any ideas of how to write it. The fic I wrote was the aftermath. It's much easier to write for the kids going up against a villain than to write for the Digimon only.
  16. I kinda had an idea about this...somewhat...but more so indirectly. Pretty much a battle between Demon and Dagomon with Demon overpowering him and taking over the Dark World and then breaking free of it to get revenge on the Chosen Children for banishing him there by trying to take over the entirety of the Digital World, maybe causing it to be merged with the Dark World since his body can no longer tolerate the light from being in the Dark World for so long. He would also try to do the same with the human world to make them all miserable. Yeah....fic idea I played with a few years ago. ^^
  17. It's nice that they're doing that. Wonder what they'll do at this year's Digifest regarding him and Mizutani Yuuko.

    Utada Hikaru

What I meant was that my interest in her faded out long before she ever did, along with Kuraki Mai, for some reason and I have no idea why. In Japan, she was super popular. Forgot which album it was, but I think she's ranked fourth or fifth for best selling album. Also, in the supermarket, sometimes I hear her song Traveling playing.

    Utada Hikaru

My first exposure to Utada Hikaru was back in 2000 or so...maybe about 2001. The earliest song that comes to mind for me is probably Kettobase! and as for album...probably the 2001 release of Distance. Seems, back then, she was in competition with Kuraki Mai (Mai-K) who i also used to listen to quite a bit...but my interest in both artists seemed to fade after a bit. Thinking about the song Kettobase! makes me wish I still had my Hikki stuff. Deep River was a REALLY good album, imo...but it's not like I have much to compare it to either. ^^ Anyway, I heard that she may be coming from out of retirement.
  20. The only thing about the later design that I think was a good addition was the strap for his sword holder. Other than that, I'm cool with the original design. Game wise, I kind of prefer my N64 version, but that's in comparison to the Gamecube version, not the 3DS version. ^^
  21. @Kon, whether or not Nimoy did or didn't like the character doesn't matter much at this point, but up until the later eps, apparently, "Davis" was written poorly, and seems the episodes that Nimoy wasn't a writer of "Davis" was portrayed better.

    Pokemon Go

I have it, but unfortunately, since I'm in Japan, I can't encounter anything yet because the system isn't running here apparently. All I have is my starter.
  23. @senshikoi, it`s not that they`re interchangeable, it`s just that Japanese people usually can`t do the romanizations correctly. For example, I have a student named Taichi. For his English nameplate, it`s written as Taiti. I also have a Chihiro who has her name written out as Tihiro. The problem is due to the fact that "chi" falls into the "T" line for the alphabet… Okay, that all aside, and sorry for going so far off-topic, but I kinda like the Tamersish feel in that regard. It makes me want to actually watch Tamers. Still my favorite of all the series that I`ve seen. I liked the whole government meddling where it shouldn`t be meddling thing going on. I still can`t help but wonder what the confession will actually be and am now wondering if it means that Villainessmon (I love calling her that) will confess that she has ulterior motives or something. I want her to be a bad guy so badly, but at the same time, at this point, it would be too obvious and cliché. Maybe she`s a red herring.
