  1. Welcome to the forums, Eri. I hope you enjoy it here.
  2. Welcome to the forums, Austin. I hope you enjoy it here.
  3. An otaku is a person obsessed with something. Like Shinichi in Detective Conan is a Holmes/mystery otaku. He's literally shown to be super obsessed with it. Just thought I'd mention that. ^^ That aside, welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy it here.
  4. Could you describe the actual anime? Like character looks? Stuff going on while the song played, etc.?
  5. The DS, like the original Gameboy is region free. You can probably import it.
  6. Yeah, live-action movie. Forgot when the film was in theaters, though.
  7. My roommate rented the movie Nana to Kaoru a few weeks ago and was explaining the story. I said that I wouldn't mind checking out the manga someday.
  8. My cat 5 died 5 years ago...during a blackout during hurricane season. We buried her the next morning in our backyard since nothing was open. Our dog, who was still a puppy seemed confused when we kept her out of the room that night. As a kid, I had a hamster that died, but not sure what my parents did with him. The other cat (brother to the one mentioned) died five years prior while I was at work, but my folks were home. They took him to our nearby vet.
  9. What animated American series outside of television specials have a runtime of about 45 minutes? Live-action drama shows, yeah...animated, no not really. Anyway, maybe it's more expensive to produce longer run times since they use so much CG animation these days.
  10. You're welcome, but why thanks? ^^
  11. They would probably have to edit them severely from the way you're describing these series. I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if CN stuck to mainstream shows that'll appeal to a general audience.
  12. I'm surprised I missed this. Anyway, my favorite completed manga series is +Anima. The reasons why can be found in the link below. I still highly recommend it. https://animeforums.net/community/threads/anima.1563/
  13. My favorite anime is still Yoroiden Samurai Troopers.
  14. You should've written pigtails. That's what the style is called. I was thinking two literal tails too.

    New staff

    みんなさんおめでとうございます!!!
  16. Favorite Digimon Adventure Tri human character so far is Jou.
  17. People probably like villains more because they sometimes come across as being more complex or have different facets to their personalities. This goes for pretty much any medium, not jus "anime".
  18. My roommate is totally into Tokyo Ghoul and she's emotional over that.
  19. I never got the chance to finish the manga or the live-action series. Never seen the anime. I liked it, though.
  20. I wouldn't advise traveling in Japan during August. It's super humid and there'll be more crowds because of kids being off, Yama no Hi, and obon. Yama no Hi is a new holiday...Mountain Day. Just started last year.

    Japan Q & A

@SAO LILDOOP: Just found out that Comic Con is held here sometime in December.
  22. Hopefully others will join. And as a reminder, you're supposed to make words based on the final sound of the previous word. Most Japanese words and even borrowed words (like Angel Beats, which would be written ENJERU BIITSU in katakana), ends with a vowel sound or a consonant + vowel sound. The Japanese "n" sound at the end of a word has an "mmmmm" sound, which is why you're out because no words in Japanese begin with that sound. The entire alphabet consists of vowel sounds... A I U E O KA KI KU KE KO SA SHI SU SE SO TA TI (CHI) TU (TSU) TE TO NA NI NU NE NO HA HI HU HE HO MA MI MU ME MO YA YU YO RA RI RU RE RO WA WO (O) N So, yeah, sorry... ^^'
  23. I didn't word that right. I meant English romaji. ^^ That's why I chose Tsubasa Chronicle. The last sound in "Beats" in Japanese is "tsu ". The game is quite phonetic.
  24. Sorry, thought we were using Japanese rules and Japanese titles, just typed out in English.
