It's Tottori, @senshikoi. ^^ I never did give my opinion on this. What stood out for me was seeing Ken's D3 and D-Terminal. Also, the more I watch this stuff, the more I feel this is a tad Tamers-ish...like that government organization is definitely responsible for the mess going on. I'm also curious what "Villainessmon" is lying to the kids about.

Personally, I don't feel this should be limited to anime. It can count towards anything you're into. For instance, I have a Legend of Zelda mug since I'm such a fan of the franchise and Link. I also have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles glasses, as I'm a fan of that franchise.

I do wonder why some series have changes like that. I know that for Mihoshi in Tenchi, I couldn't help but wonder why they changed her character for the TV series (which is a parallel story to the OVA series). Her partner is Kiyone and her character is smart and very serious. I guess that's why they dumbed Mihoshi down and made her the screw up and it seems for the other spin-offs and series that came out for the Tenchi series that wasn't in continuity with the first OVA series (Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki) has her portrayed in this way. It's a bit mind-boggling. All this talk about Tenchi, I think I will go and catch myself up on the first OVA series and just start it over from the beginning. Despite the fact it started in 1992, the OVA is still getting releases now. I have no idea where I left off years ago. I can't remember what happened last. -
Are you sure? I just checked it. It's still there on the digimon-adventure.net site on the Japanese side. It's not up for the English side yet. I shared it on Facebook too and those there seemed to be able to play the video fine. The trailer is under the movie section and the news section for the Japanese side of the site. It was updated May 28 (Japan time).

You've never seen or heard of the DIgimon Adventure series or any of the DIgimon series? Anyway, Toei is releasing films for the series with the characters aged up. The first one was out last November and the second, this past March. The next one comes out in September, and there's a film trailer up for it, but apparently, it's region locked for those outside of Japan, so I just pointed out the main site for the folks here to view it. I doubt that would be region locked since it gets a worldwide release. In Japan, it's in theaters and on Crunchyroll outside of it.

@Koumi was talking about the trailer for the upcoming film. The third part. That aside, everyone, a trailer is up on the site...the Japanese side anyway... http://digimon-adventure.net/news/#news2016052801

Ashita wa Motto - Yuko Mizutani has passed away

I honestly haven't kept up with Tenchi in years. I pretty much just stuck to the first series from 1992 (Tenchi Muyo Ryo-oki, which is still going today, technically since it's an OVA series) and Tenchi Muyo! TV (aka Tenchi Universe, which I do have the boxset of, a I really liked it) and I did see the Tenchi Forever movie. Shin Tenchi Muyo (I think the English title was Tenchi in Tokyo) I hated. I also had the other spin off series called Tenchi Muyo GXP, but my DVD player (at the time, my PS2) couldn't play it for some reason. It played the first disc but not the others. Must've had a scratch or something. I've also seen the Mihoshi special, which was pretty cute. I could never get into the other series/spin-offs much, like the Pretty Sammy series. That aside, if I were to recommend any Tenchi series to anyone, I always suggest watching either Tenchi Muyo, Ryo-oki or Tenchi Muyo! TV. At least for those series, all the girls weren't in love with Tenchi, or came across that way. The only two that seemed to be into Tenchi were Ryoko and Ayeka. I think that's what annoyed me about Shin Tenchi Muyo. It really did feel like a harem series...all the girls liking Tenchi. I guess that does show how diverse the franchise a whole is. It has a series for everyone and there are alternate storylines for the majority of these series. Edit: You know, thinking about it, I would recommend the OVA series over universe. Universe does have the character Kiyone, which is an awesome character, imo....but Mihoshi's character was changed. She became a stereotype of a "dumb blonde". In the OVA series, her character was clumsy and stuff, but she was still competent and took her police work seriously. That change for Universe did bother me. -

@senshikoi She voiced Mihoshi from Tenchi. That's the main role I associate her with along with Sora. Ironically, Kikuchi Masami voiced Tenchi. He also voiced Jou originally. -
https://animeforums.net/threads/sailor-moon-crystal.1626/ I gave my opinion there... That aside, it's a remake. It's just sticking closer to the manga and has no filler, unlike the original, due to the manga running concurrently alongside the anime. It's what Dragon Ball Kai is to Dragon Ball Z. It's Z's story without the filler.

Death Note - is this a series worth starting?

Personally, I'd check out the manga. If that draws you in then check out the anime. It's very close to the anime because the manga was nearly finished when the anime started. -
5 Reasons You Shouldn’t Watch Sailor Moon Crystal First
ssjup81 replied to LillyFrost33's topic in Anime Discussion
@LillyFrost33 Check out the Sailor Moon Crystal thread you posted in. Check out the first post there. :-P -
The only series I've seen all the way through are the first two. I've seen scattered eps since then. I tried watching Diamond and Pearl, but grew bored. Bi watched Best Wishes, and even though I loved Dento's character, the show couldn't hold my interest. The new series based on X/Y I couldn't get into at all. I miss the fact that the original series was more "Japanese" and slapsticky, I guess.

Ashita wa Motto - Yuko Mizutani has passed away
ssjup81 replied to senshikoi's topic in Anime Discussion
Yes I heard about that. Pretty sad for Tenchi fans too. There are two versions of Ashita wa Motto....but the only difference is that she sings the ending as opposed to whispering it. -
The story has been put up on the Digimon-adventure.net site...but only only on the Japanese side. Not sure if it's right, but seems that because of what happened to Meikomon, and to an extent, Imperialdramon (despite the latter not being mentioned at all or Ken [This annoys me]), they're more worried about the Digimon becoming infected and the kids want to know how and why these infections are happening. Seems Koushirou will be the most burdened with this since he can't find answers and unsure of what to do so as not to end up with another situation like Meikomon's. The only solution Koushirou has is to keep all of the Digimon in quarantine in his office (I still feel that you need a whole lot of suspension of disbelief to accept this)...but it seems that Patamon is starting to show signs of infection. Also, I think it's implying that we'll get another "Hikari" moment like in Adventure when her light attribute took over and she told the others how they were all chosen and stuff. There's going to be some big secret revealed about the Digital World and I hope it mentions something about the 02 cast! And...I guess they'll end up fighting against Meikomon...or something. I hope someone properly translates this soon. The Japanese side of the site just updated this information yesterday. Possibly. lol Maybe he won't evolve at all in this upcoming movie. This could even be a possibility. When it comes to Hikari though, since they'll probably end up using Ophanimon as opposed to HolyDramon, I could see that being highlighted in whatever movie it'll happen in. These are Takeru's stories, right? I could see Patamon being saved for last. Yeah. It's annoying! Well, now that a synopsis of the upcoming film has been revealed, I guess the confession could pertain to whatever the secret is that's going to be revealed about the Digital World. At least that would be relevant to the plot. I would hope that it wouldn't be love confessions, personally. You know, seems the "determination" was mostly on Mimi's part....sorta.... Even though earlier I mentioned that I wouldn't want this....not now anyway, it would be interesting to see how Koushirou would confess and how Mimi would react. Would it mirror her reaction to the love letter in the love-letter drama? I don't want to be around for that. >< Wow, this is probably right. He would have to come to terms with not having all of the answer and given the recent synopsis, you just may be onto something. As for Takeru...if maybe you're not too far off. If it's true that Patamon is showing signs of being infected, but he keeps trying to remain hopeful (or Patamon is), maybe he would have to confess about being despaired for once. Maybe we'll get a dark Takeru...which would delight me, personally. The potential to do this back in 02 was missed. I like the idea of Takeru having a dark side. He probably was, I just didn't see him since it wasn't left on the screen long enough for me. The last poster, I didn't even notice Imperialdramon and he's huge.

I've been meaning to answer this for a while. I really liked the Marmalade Boy manga....way more than the anime. I honestly haven't read another story like it....but maybe I could recommend a josei series. It's not a romance perse...but it does have a love-related situation with the main character and, like Yuu and Miki's relationship, it would be slightly taboo. Yuu x Miki taboo (at first) because . Maybe you could check out Gokusen. It's about a women named Yamaguchi Kumiko, a recent university graduate, who's the granddaughter of a Yakuza (Japanese mafia) boss, but she keeps this life secret because her dream was to always become a teacher. She ends up getting a job at a rough, all-boy's school with a very poor reputation, where fights are super common. Of course as the series goes on, she starts to earn the respect of her students, but she still must juggle two lives...her Yakuza life and her teaching life. But she does have her love issues too. So the series has comedy, action, crime...junk like that. So yeah, not sure if you'd be into a series like this, but I personally really really enjoyed it. Liked the main characters and stuff and at times, it is a bit random. Of course there were some things I did dislike regarding some of her students... . I guess I just prefer jousei-type series in general. Guess it'd fall into that category. The Jousei demographic means series aimed at older teen girls and adult women. Edit: Just thought of another title. Why not check out Fruits Basket?

Yeah, she died here a good while back. It's probably "Origa" because she was a Russian artost, not Japanese.
-
I think that the writers just assumed she was dead since she wasn't around, because I don't think it ever said one way or the other in the original ep where they first met Brock/Takeshi.
-
Thanks for that @senshikoi. When seeing that in the movies, I didn't even notice Patamon there. That is odd that we don't have Patamon evolved there. I wonder why? That's pretty unusual. I hope they release some new information. Sucks we have to wait until the fall for this one to come out. So, any theories on what you think the confessions movie will include? It's obviously centered around Takeru. Ooo, maybe both Takeru and Koushirou will confess something. Koushirou will finally confess that he likes Mimi! lol! Okay, maybe not, but I just don't know what to fully think with that kind of title that's actually plot relevant.

I started watching Joker Game and the Ace Attorney anime.

Shipping can apply to any fandom and isn't anime exclusive. Years ago, about 2005 or so, I was an active member on the Chamber of Secrets forums which was a forum for Harry Potter fans. They had a shipping thread and debates were allowed as long as you didn't break any rules like flaming those who disagreed with you or bashing characters for the sake of "proving" something. The main ships debated were Harry x Hermione, Harry x Ginny, Ron x Hermione. Anyway, most were civil, but it got to the point that some shippers, mostly the vehement Harry x Hermione ones would bash Ron and Ginny's characters while others kept breaking the flaming rule. The mods banned all shipping discussion until the last book finally came out and had canon ships.

Touch is a baseball series. Princess Nine is another about baseball, but it deals with an all-girl team who dreams of playing at Koshien as no girls ever have.
-
Actually....the Tri version of Seven is. The single for this came out right before he passed.

I didn't notice this thread. I'll go delete mine. It's sad that he lost his battle with cancer. He, along with some of the other musicians, are the main ones that truly got me into listening to Japanese music. I'm sure that the next film will be dedicated to him. I wonder if they'd planned on him doing any other songs for the films, like how they redid Seven and Butter-Fly.

This was difficult. They're all good.
