What is something you're passionate about?

You have to learn how to market your degrees.  That's not just history or art history - it's every degree.  Liberal arts in general does a poor job preparing a student for a perspective employer.

This is so true 😂 the amount of bs I see on resumes or I have to put into applications for funding is ludicrous. The most recent PhD student in our group had a CV which made you think she was a modern day Aristotle 😂 at the end of the day though she was just a usual PhD student. In academia at least, even if you are passionate about your subject, knowing how to sell it well is part of how to get money for your passion

I'm passionate about writing, specifically roleplaying in general-- I like to imagine myself as a certain fictional character and create AUs, y'know? It's really fun!

I have many passions learning and helping others to learn is a big one. Though when it comes to my more specific passions of interest that would be science, technology, art, writing. I understand a couple of those are quite broad, but hey I like learning about them all.

Once upon a time I used to enjoy songwriting and dabbled in music for a while (mainly hip hop). I'm told I was pretty good too but life takes you by the scruff of the neck and you end up doing other things. I had a year in secondary school where I was obsessed with theoretical physics and spent tons of time reading up on all sorts of stuff, even wanting to become an astrophysict when I was older. Then I went to college and realised I'm actually terrible at Maths lol.  I think these days I enjoy writing, or more specifically world building. I do A LOT of world building in my head, not so much gets put to paper lol. The main difference with writing is I'm actually decent at it, I'm just lazy.

I'm passionate about animals. I do volunteer work at a sanctuary when I can but it's mostly bottle feeding baby goats and cleaning food containers. Sometimes, I help rehabilitate dogs until they get adopted. I've actually adopted four rescues from abusive homes, which I'm planning on introducing in a separate topic.

Supporting independent artists is another thing I'm passionate about. I've never been to an anime convention but I go to comic and special make-up effects/monster cons. This is where I buy a lot of art and snag some business cards to hand out to family and friends. There are some artists I've become acquainted with after bumping into them at several different cons. It's so wonderful to see them start to flourish!

Typewriters too. I currently own three but it was an adventure getting one of them back into working condition. I found fixing it to be satisfying and relaxing. Although, before I moved, I drove my sister crazy with using them. They're so loud! 😆 Right now, typewriters are the only thing I like to write short stories with.

Restoration is another. I like fixing antiques and I'm currently working on an old wooden chess set. I've often struggled with restoring certain pieces. Someone told me that it didn't seem right to alter the passage of time done to some objects.

Collecting old books. My biggest fascination is period sailing ships, Victorian fashion, and the French Revolution. I think thrift stores are the best places to find hidden gems! :) Some books I've purchased have messages dedicated to friends or family. It's pretty neat giving those books a home again. Additionally, the thrift store I go to uses their proceeds to donate to shelters for troubled youth.

I can't delete my quote on my phone bwahahah, either way. You are so cool! Those are such awesome interests and hobbies. I feel like we have a lot in common haha

I love finding used bookstores, antiquing and thrift stores too. There's one in my city that has a huge collection of classic magazines. They're interesting to browse though.

Also yesss introduce your dogs soon :3

I feel like I'd totally want to befriend you IRL if we ever met. You are like a lot of my close friends lol.

I’m passionate about reading, I do enjoy manga a lot but just normal books are really fun too. I also like to skateboard, which is fun and generally just a good skill to have if you want to go somewhere.

I'm passionate about a lot of things. Mostly my art and manga writing abilities.

I'm also passionate about my 'detective work.' Of course, it's not like crime or anything, small scale stuff.

However, it does make me happy. I act like a detective because I want to be similar to L. Not his unhealthy habits or anything like that, but I want to become a detective like him.

@OtakuKid sounds great. don't really know why but ramps were never really my thing. I mostly did flips and on occasion tried rail grinds. I had to stop when I broke my skateboard though 😂 do you have a normal skateboard or one of those longer/shorter ones?

My problem is that I get bored too easily by things that made me happy a few moments ago. Sure, I like watching anime or playing video games, drawing, the usual stuff, but right now, I don´t feel like any of it (Yes I am aware that it´s the middle of the night xD) so, I´ll just go with the thing that I enjoy doing at the moment: listening to some calm music while enjoying a cup of teaaa.

What I´m an expert at is easy for me to answer: I´m incredibly good at dwelling on the past:P

Hey Illusion, how do you tag people? Also, I have a regular one and a longboard.

you just write the @ symbol, and then the name. for example in your case I would write @Otaku and it would bring up a list of users and then I just click the one I want to tag.
Longboards to me seemed more something for casual riding along. I would prefer them over the really small ones I have also seen. But I think if I bought one now I would again buy a normal skateboard.
