Weirdest Stuff in Anime

What's the weirdest WTF moments you've seen in anime? Stuff that seriously melted your brain. 

 

 

I remember the first time i saw FLCL I spent ten minutes just going "Buh----duh...huh? Whu?..."

Depends on what definition of weird you are looking for. Anime that seems like the author was nuts or taking LSD or anime that is crazy implausible?

 I'd nominate Girls und Panzer for the latter. It literally has high schools located on ships the size of a small island and someone decided the height of feminine grace is to get in an early 20th century tank and go battle it out. Since this is a light hearted anime there isn't the massive body count you'd expect.

Girls und Panzer is a crazy series. As a Brit I loved the idea of the British tank crew drinking tea from bone china cups.

Fun Fact: The Challenger 2, Britain's current MBT has tea making facilities fitted as standard.

One of the biggest WTF moments in recent anime has to be the first episode of Oshi no Ko. That 90-minute opener starts out deceptively sweet and then hits you with a plot twist so shocking it feels like your brain short-circuits. I had to pause and just sit there processing what I’d seen, absolute storytelling brilliance!

Oh man, anime can get *wild*like, "sentient spaghetti monster fighting a giant mecha powered by existential dread" levels of weird. It's part of what makes it so fun though! You never know when a show will suddenly throw in a penguin with a top hat or a character who communicates exclusively through interpretive dance. Gotta love it!

You have to love how the narrator's last words are that he'll see anyone who watched the series in hell. And deservedly so.
