So this one is slightly more conventional. We don't see too many American locos here in the UK, but this S160 is impressive. Oh I love it ~! It really does look like an old timey stamp. I've used that effect in some of my siggys before and I really like putting borders like that. I love the photo too very good ~

The frame is supposed to make the picture look like an old postcard. It's an effect I quite like.

Animedragon
Just now, Sasuke said: That's anazing photography. Thank you. It's one of my best sunset photos, I think the two children playing at the water's edge gives it an interesting aspect.

I love it you are right about the children on the edge of the water. It's giving me nostalgic childhood vibes from the times I've spent on the ocean when I was a kid.

Animedragon
I went for a walk in my local park today, it was a nice warm sunny day and the park was an oasis of peace and quiet, but it hasn't always been that way. From 1776 to 1927 the area was the site of a large gunpowder mill. Making gunpowder is a dangerous business and there were quite a lot of explosions at the site, one so large that it was heard 10 miles away and shattered a lot of windows locally. Today the area around the old millpond has been turned into a nature reserve. This photo is of the only surviving building of the gunpowder mill it is known locally as the "shot tower" but there are those who say it never was a shot tower because it is not tall enough. It was set on fire a couple of times by arsonists but has now been totally restored and is used as the base for the local wildlife trust. The tower is also a listed building. This photo was taken along part of the river that flows through the park and at one time powered the various mills. 2

Yes, the photos are from my new camera and the first "real" photos I've taken with it. The area surrounding the old mill pond has been turned into a small nature reserve so I think it would be nice go back with the camera in the spring/summer and see what it's like then with all the wild flowers in bloom. Animedragon
Here's another couple of photos from my park walk. This one is of one of the two sluice gates in the embankment that separated the river from the mill pond, I think their purpose was to regulate the amount of water in the mill pond. The wooden bridge is a new addition, the original bridge was just a plain slab of concrete. Another view of the shot tower taken from the other side of the river. 3

Popular Post Animedragon
Spring is on the way this is a photo I took today of the small daffodils in my front garden, it's amazing that anything other than weeds grow in it because it seems to have more stones than soil in it . But I'm grateful for the little daffs, they give a small bit of colour to the garden. 2 1

I haven't seen any around here as of yet but wouldn't be surprised to soon with the warmer weather temperature we have had. Nice photo too.
