Optic
Also known as Oreimo? I haven't seen it myself... but do let us know @Caroline what the basic plot is about and your thoughts.
Caroline
Also known as Oreimo? I haven't seen it myself... but do let us know @Caroline what the basic plot is about and your thoughts. Yes, also known as Oreimo. The anime is based on the light novel series with the same name about a brother and sister that are not close. One day the brother discovers his sister is obsessed with anime particularly with sister related anime and games where the brother falls in love with the sister. At first he helps keep her hobby a secret but soon he helps her find friends that also like anime and also helps their family and friends accept that she likes anime which is considered very taboo to them since the otaku seem to have a bad name in Japan. I really enjoyed the first season. It showed some of the flaws that there are in the anime business when creating new anime (this is explored later on in the season, I won't mention this too much since I do not want to spoil anything). Season 2 is alright but not as good as season 1, I felt the ending ruined season 2 completely but it is definitely still worth watching.

Nights
Cruncyroll or you can download it as a torrent on Pirate Bay or you can buy the DVDs. I actually prefer to use a good stream site that's solely about streams. You don't have to clutter up your computer with files. I've never actually used Crunchyroll because of it's layout, but their streams are excellent quality. I have watched S1 of Oreimo and a few eps of S2. I lost my place and just haven't bothered with finding it again. I'll give it a watch so we can discuss. I actually really enjoy the artwork and the storyline. Character progressions are great and I'm a total sap for tsundere. It'll take me a day or two to catch up ^^
katyC
I think I watched that anime before or read the manga maybe,I can't remember but the plot sounds so similiar I'm sure I either read the manga or watched the anime nya~~ I actually prefer to use a good stream site that's solely about streams. I don't really like using Crunchyroll because of their ads. I hate the waiting time nyan~~ animeshow.tv has really high quality streams but sometimes they don't have the anime I want to watch. However, I think their website looks really fresh...and pretty.... onion-cup

Sometimes though I watch stuff on Crunchyroll and there are barely any ads which is weird. For those that pay they do not get ads at all and they get to watch the anime straight away after it airs in Japan pretty much. S2 isn't as good as S1 though and I would be interested in seeing how you react to the ending. I still prefer downloading files to watch my shows though. I use animefushigi, they normally have any anime you can think of and their streams are all pretty high quality. I use adblocker on stream sites so I can skip them and go straight to the anime. I've noticed that the first season on most shows is normally better than the following seasons. S2 is good so far but S1 had way more feels to it. Though when Kuroneko broke up with Kyosuke my heart dropped three feet. That was so depressing. But then they turn it around so quickly like nothing ever happened at all Way to ruin a good story arch. It would've been more interesting to see several episodes put into that but ... I suppose I'm too fond of Toradora!
Optic
Well I finally watched the first series of this and it's good! A lot of it does reflect anime and otaku culture, the characters even visit Akihabara in Tokyo many times. Character development in this one is heart-warming and very amusing. Karen
My guilty pleasure anime. I can't defend it in an argument, I can't hate on it in an argument. I've seen season 1 about 4 times, and I believe I watched season 2 twice. I've got 2 Kirino figs and 1 Kuroneko fig. I have no idea why I enjoy this anime so much.
