SurrealBrain
.hack//Legend of the Twilight. My older siblings were already fans of the franchise. I will admit I wasn't old enough to read it back then, so I had to sneak looks in. I will admit I found Ouka attractive. I'm aware that was the point, but still.

Yeah, I think Ouka was probably my favorite thing about that particular version of .hack (manga & anime). Still think she’s one of the most attractive kemonomimi characters in anime. ken
Doraemon. I might be a bit unusual as a Japanese person, but I often read Doraemon as a manga rather than watching the anime. The fast pacing and the old-style expressions that you don’t find in the anime make it really interesting, even when I read it now.
ablackenedrose
Was a three-volume original English-language manga called The Dreaming. I was unfamiliar with manga at the time (I was maybe twelve when I read it), but I read this particular story several times through and loved it. Ended up being a gateway into the medium for me.

Hero_flash72
This really take me back. It's telling, but the first Manga I read was To Love Ru / Darkness LOL That was probably over 15 years ago! I can't read it anymore but I never liked how 'open' it ended. Sometimes I check to see if a new chapter randomly dropped all these years later. Low_Recording7187
One Piece is a manga that feels like a long adventure you grow up with. When you read it, you don’t just follow fights—you get attached to the characters. Luffy is not smart in the usual way, but his belief in his friends and dreams makes him special. Every island has its own story, pain, and emotions, and some moments really hit hard. What makes One Piece different is how it mixes fun, comedy, sadness, and hope so naturally that you keep turning pages without noticing time. Ket
I think it was when I was in 3rd grade I picked up a Kingdom Hearts volume not knowing what it was. Whichever teacher or aid put that in a school library deserves all the best.

KookyKonata
My first ever manga I read was Real Bout High School volume 2. I happened to be in the right place at the right time, back in 9th grade in '03. My friend was going to lend it to another one of my friends, but he didn't show up that day so she let me borrow it instead and since, I'd been hooked! I then went to Books-A-Million the following weekend and bought the first 2 volumes of Pita-Ten!
