efaardvark
This morning I decided that I needed to play Rimworld. I haven't played it in a while and thought it sounded like fun. About 2 hours in I decided that I was wrong. More a me problem than with the game. I've played it before and usually enjoy it a lot. But Rimwold is one of those games that requires planning and keeping track of a lot of details at once and for some reason my brain did not want to engage today. I kept having to scramble to deal with events that I should have been more prepared for. Maybe I should have tried a lower difficulty level. Or gone with something simple like Stardew Valley. efaardvark
Played a bit of minecraft with relatives in Wisconsin. Building a large fortified town or some sort of bastide around a village we found. Carcassonne comes to mind, though the design of the walls is straight from the imagination of my SIL. My brother and I were building shops and homes for the villagers inside while she worked on the walls. Going to have probably a couple dozen villagers when we're done. (That's if the lag doesn't get us first. ) Once we get all of them placed and leveled up this is going to be a lively place. We're not strapping the villagers down like you seen in most "trading hall" designs on youtube or twitch either. We're trying to build sectors within the town where the villagers are free to wander and mingle a bit while still keeping the villagers confined enough to not lose track of their beds or profession blocks. Kind of a tricky balance given minecraft village mechanics, but it'll be cool if we can pull it off. There's a trial chamber right underneath where I was standing to take this screenshot too, so there's a "dungeon" to go adventuring in nearby. Forlorn
I've had Ryuji learn First for the melee skills, now I'm working on Duel, Speed, Guide, and Stun. It's a slow grind, but totally worth it.

efaardvark
Just reading up on Hytale as we get closer to early access. Linux (and MacOS) will be supported.. https://x.com/slikey/status/2006774600491827296
efaardvark
Had a few minutes so I took a look at a couple Hytale 'Tubies. People keep saying it's a minecraft clone. The resemblance is there for sure, but it also shares play elements with games like Vintage Story. It's a lot more than just "Minecraft 2.0". The other thing that's obvious from the early-access release is that it's already quite well developed for an EA. One or two technical glitches are evident but mostly it just needs a bit of balance and a lot of content. It even has recording and building features built-in and functional. It'll be interesting to see how this develops over time, especially in view of the devs embracing the modding community.
EnviousEnvy
Cult of the Lamb Completely restarted the game and I nearly have the base game completed. I married my lamb to their first spouse and said spouse has the “Lethally Jealous” trait which has me a bit nervous, lol. Skyrim Doing another play through but on PC this time. I now have the Anniversary Edition (I believe that’s the latest one now?) So I can have pets and tame wild horses. I’m so stoked. Of course I went with my usual female dark elf though, lol.
efaardvark
I have a tradition of starting a new hardcore game on every new minecraft release. Usually I die quickly. Hadn't done one yet with 1.21.11 however and now that my mods are all also up to date with 1.21.11this evening I'm doing the thing. (modlist hidden below) Had a good start. Not too far from spawn I found a ravine with a bunch of copper, then a village in a nice area. Commandeered a house w/bed and now I'm enjoying the view of the Tectonic landscape provided by Distant Horizons and Complementary while warming myself by the furnace where my copper is smelting. The village even has a fletcher in it and I was able to trade sticks=>emeralds=>arrows and level him up to be able to buy a bow and a stack of arrows without having to risk fighting spiders or mucking with breeding chickens. The copper is enough to get a full set of gear so If I can get some fencing or a wall around the town and light it up before getting killed then this one might be one of my longer hardcore runs. I have the ESV: Special Edition on my to-play list. It supposedly runs well on Linux via Valve's Proton. Much better than the original. It has a GOLD rating in the ProtonDB and occasional reports even say it runs better on linux than on Windows, especially on modern hardware. (Better in the sense of higher frame rates and fewer physics glitches.) I tried the original on linux and while it did work it had some issues. I want to give the game another run but other things keep getting higher priority.
Forlorn
It turns out there's 2 DLC for Xenoverse 2 that I haven't bought yet. So, I'll wait until my birthday to get those then I'll pick up Xenoverse 2 again. In the meantime, I'll be playing Front Mission 1st Remake. So far I've been trying to get Frederick to learn higher levels of the Switch skill because he's only learned the first level of that skill so far. efaardvark
I found some baby ghasts! This is the first time I've seen any since they were added to the game. I need to read up on the care and feeding before I do anything with them. (I also ran out of time.)

Still has a glitch here and there but nothing game breaking. Pokopia This game has been my current obsession. Loving the cute artwork and being able to be a Pokémon myself. I’m currently working on making the other Pokemon happy and discovering new ones. Fields of Mistria Currently working on building my relationships with the villagers and focusing on Juniper (my love). I’m only on year 2 so I have a lot to do still.
