Exclusive on Potato Patch #3

RyePotatoes

So I've been talking with my Parents lately. I just turned 18 which is very surprising for cause their little girl is finally acceptable in liquor bars and in jail but is still mentally 5. I'll be graduating High School this march and after that it's already college life which I am not very particular with since I am an 18 year old that is mentally 5 xD In college I'll be going away on the next city beside ours which is like two hours or so. (It's not that far actually but it is still far for me) This would be my first time living on my own. I mean, I can't even cook a decent meal without all the burns and so on. I can cook rice but that is all!

I'm afraid of going away and suddenly realizing after some time that my parents have already grown old. I'm a family-centered person and I find it hard living the nest all of a sudden. I know all of you might say that I'll get over it or that I can go through it and somehow I can survive it. But I'm kind of still afraid. I've actually stopped watching anime too cause I feel like I'm already too old for it. xD Which is kind of a wrong way of looking at anime like that because anime had always been a part of my childhood. I have been quite busy to with the college papers that I need to look in to that's why I've been inactive in here too. I really want to stay very active and greet new members cause that is what I've been doing ever since I joined here.

This blog is not a good bye blog of any sorts. I just want everyone to know what is up with RyePotatoes nowadays. :)

Well Rye dear I've always enjoyed reading your entry's for your blog and wow that must be exciting to be 18 and almost done with high school then off to collage soon. True it can be hard if your going into collage and your the type of person who is involved a lot with there family, I am as well. I never got to go to collage myself due to money issues really but even though it might be hard or a little scary at first you should still go and try. It's a great opportunity to achieve your goals and do whatever you want to do job wise or for a career for your future. I think your a really smart gal even if your younger and can do this. I didn't move out right away myself as well from home, but I found out it isn't so bad and maybe just find a roommate that can help fill the gap if your lonely ever or tight on money. So then you don't have to do it all on your own, just a thought though for advice. I really wish you all the best luck your a wonderful person Rye dear and deserve the best and most of all to be happy. Don't worry if you don't watch anime a lot or even no more. It's not a bad thing I think, personally.

True it is apart of your childhood as well as mine. But does not mean you need to watch it all the time. I don't and do it sometimes since I have other passions of mine I enjoy. But I still support it and others since I grew up with it, so don't feel bad if you do about it. And yeah I've noticed your busy more which is alright since that's life everyone has lives to live and it can get busy so no worries there. Do miss you though girl. Heh, cooking is still not my best strong suit ever since moving out, but I've been practicing more and learning what I can so don't give up with that you'll get there. Well please take care Rye dear and if you ever need anything or want to chat feel free to message me. Be happy to talk to you or help if I can in anyway.

Sending much love and positive and good vibes your way~ <3

Ne, Potato-chan, you almost gave me a hear attack! I thought you were leaving for good T__T Don't scare me like that!

I'm not a family oriented person, so I can't give you much thoughts on how you must be feeling leaving your parents. But like @SleepyLeoulf said, it's a great opportunity, so you should definitely go! If I remember correctly, you're able to visit your family once a month, or even once a week, so don't worry ^^ Maybe if you have a roommate, they can act as your new family in college! Not that they're replacing your actually family, but just giving you almost a similar feeling.

Don't worry - you'll learn how to manage making food for yourself in time ^^ I suggest getting microwavable buttermilk pancakes and waffles, lots of ramen, and lots of microwavable pizza (preferably Red Barron~) for starters. Since they're easy to make (literally just microwaving), and since they taste good, you'll be able to live in the comfort of having good tasting food. ^^ If you actually want to make your own meals, start out with scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, omelets, and/or bacon. They're easy to prep and they taste good - with minimal effort as well! I cook for myself sometimes, and these are the easiest things I know how to cook!

Ne, it''s okay to still watch anime :D My uncle's 36 and he stills binges it everyday ^^ Embrace your inner child!!!

Daijobou, Potato-chan :D Take as much time as you need! Filling out papers for colleges are a little nerve wracking because it decides which college you'll be going to for the next four years of your life. Don't rush it, 'kay? I wish you the best of luck!!!

That's kinda funny to me, 18 is when I started watching stuff other than Digimon/Pokémon.

But good luck with college. I spent too many nights playing ping-pong or going through my recommended videos on youtube and ended up doing the bare minimum, which wasn't good enough. It was definitely a rude awakening from high school.

Only 36??  I remember watching the original Uchuu Senkan Yamato on Saturday morning cartoons in the 70s.  Speed Racer on MTV reruns too.  I've been reading (mostly SF) books and watching anime since before the Internet.. even before microwave ovens!  :o

If I ever stop, I must be dead.  :D

I do not think you are too old for anything.

Cooking can be tough, especially since the cookware gets hot before what is inside, but just be glad that you have full use of your body, so burns are not too risky.
