This is a fun title. Mecha musume armour girls + electronic music = awesome. Great music - upbeat electronic soundtrack. Cool mecha musume costumes - when they're in their Symphogear forms in order to counter the supernatural threats.. In terms of tone, it does have a few typical magical girl moments in terms of despair - but nowhere near the levels of psychological thriller that Puella Magi Madoka Magica had. In fact it's very campy and pacing feels rushed after the first few episodes. It's absurd they transform and get their strength from singing... but I LOVED it! So much it made me watch Symphogear G (second series) immediately afterwards and Symphogear GX (currently airing third series) soon after. Hibiki is my favourite character due to her genki personality. Her voice actor is the same as the one that voiced Madoka in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The two characters are quite similar - of course Hibiki does more punching in her Symphogear form. I strongly recommend it for the music alone. Yusa was interesting, but I felt they tried to pack a little too much in that episode with Misa (her violent possessed dead sister). I found it hard to connect to the sad scene towards the end before Misa "disappeared" for good as they were jumping personalities quite often - maybe that could've been spread towards two episodes.

Honestly, after the second episode I was so close to dropping this series - mainly due to Albedo's ridiculous pandering towards Momonga. But it seems she can be serious after all when the two are outside Nazarick. Glad we're finally outside Nazarick, combat scenes were great and Momonga learning more about the regions by liaising with the village leader was very intriguing. Looking forward to what's coming up..

I finished watching Symphogear not long ago and loved it! Tomorrow I intend to marathon watch the second series of Symphogear so I can catch up quickly with the currently airing third series of Symphogear. It's been awhile since I marthon watched a whole series, hopefully it'll be fun.

Back when I was making the screenshot galleries for the HDN anime, there were so many quick cut scenes in the OP which I thought were pretty cool, but couldn't find a place in the Gallery for them as they were mostly groups shots. So I'll just tuck them here for now.

Every now and then it's good to check the status of your hard disk drive using a utility that can read S.M.A.R.T monitoring data (failed sectors, CRC errors, temperature, etc.). If you're using Windows, there's a nice moe one you can used that was created by a Japanese developer. It's called CrystalDiskInfo - Shizuku edition, and comes with several different themes featuring their mascot: Shizuku-chan ! Most bloated utility ever though - clocking in at over 200 MB. But with so many themes and voices that is to be expected... Oh the HDD test...? According to Shizuku-chan they're all good.

Well, I finally finished this game. First time I got the bad ending due to not looking at certain scenes before proceeding on the main event... So then I got the good ending. But based on how many CGs I have that are still locked I know for sure there's a True Ending. In any case, my Japanese ability kind of prohibits me from going any further unless I follow a guide so I'm shelving this for now. Also, these two scenes of Neptune and Noire towards the end in alternate dimensions were hilarious:

Anyone else seen this mecha anime movie title? It's written by Gen Urobuchi, who also brought us ALDNOAH.ZERO, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and PSYCHO-PASS. So expect some philosophical elements. I admit that Angela Balzac's outfit caught my eye. Very futuristic looking. And a bit of fan service.. Very solid amount of mecha action (especially towards the end). My favourite moments are between Angela and "Dingo", as Angela is your typical tsundere. Interesting remarks with the two having to work together. I would highly recommend giving it a watch if you like mecha, post-apocalyptic or humanity philosophical themes. There's a strong chance you'll like it too if you enjoy any of the titles I mentioned above.

I work in an Apple school, and from time to time I find myself removing adware from various OS X machines. Most of the infections I've seen are browser related, they inject ads on Google SERPs OR redirect you to a dodgy website when you click a Google SERP result. Basically poke your friend and say all platforms are vulnerable if you visit dodgy websites.

Ehm... I've migrated to iTunes. Also ripping my audio CDs to ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) - very similar to FLAC. And converting my old FLACs to ALAC. I figure it was the best way to go as my iPhone doesn't support FLAC natively and I didn't really want to have two versions of my music library. Basically, less effort this way. And every other player supports ALAC too so no loss there. iTunes looks pretty good these days too: Thanks for the explanation. I think as long as there's no annoying buzz, hum or hissing in the way you've wired it up then it should work for now.

Here in Australia we don't get any snow at all. So that's either good or bad. I imagine no need to clear driveways, but then so many missed opprtunities playing with snow.. Our summers are brutally hot - particularly in Western Australia. 35+ degrees Celsius days during Summer are certainly the norm. But unlike Singapore and Malaysia where theie weather is humid, our Summers are quite dry. On that basis, Spring is my preference. Not too hot, not too cold. How about you?

The localised English release for Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth 3 has come out for Vita... I'm excited to play it as soon as possible. This particular Neptunia game involves Neptune being stuck in the 1980s. As I saw the anime adaptation first this is the chapter I am most looking forward to learning more about originally from the games... as specifically this is the part that includes Plutia/Iris Heart and Peashy/Yellow Heart. Though I'm a little disappointed though that Nepgear is no longer a main character (she had a major role in ReBirth 2) as this quirky character profile shows from Idea Factory's website. Well lets see... Gunships against dragons.. Modern infantry against swordsmen.. Youji becoming a military Lieutenant for his heroic efforts in his vain attempt to save the Doujinshi event. Overall I like it! Next episode should be very entertaining. This one? She does look quite cute. Wonder when they'll meet.

Interesting setting and start with Momonga being trapped in the server with his new life-like NPCs, but not much really happened after that. Hope to see what dangers and conflict are in this world and the true extent of Momonga's abilities in this new Yggdrasil. I also wonder if we'll ever see any glimpses of the real world?
