  1. Hello Claire, welcome to Anime Forums. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
  2. Working on Puella Magi Madoka Magica galleries. Homura and Madoka :)

Ooooooh! I can't wait to see them

  3. Admittedly I've drifted away from most of the friends I made throughout the years due to moving suburbs, different jobs and perhaps overcommitting myself at times. I do still keep in touch with 2-3 people from time to time. I think as you get older it definitely becomes harder to make new friends outside of work.
  4. My first encounter into anime forum communities was either AnimeSuki or MyAnimeList. Memory is a bit hazy on this one. There were a lot more anime fansites than forums at the time. Wow, now that brings back memories! I remember visiting that site since 2009.. Looks like they've been bought out though, judging from all the ads plastered on it.. Any idea how this community is going? I noticed they've had a new owner fairly recently.
  5. Hello Zynektic, welcome aboard. ;)

Thank you! As I explore more now that I am registered, I can appreciate the effort gone into creating the forum!

  6. I'm now about halfway through the Katakana. Some of these are brutal, those two you listed for example. But also シ and ツ ... on this font it looks quite distinct but on some other fonts it's quite similar. Just adding that I haven't started writing any kana yet, just committing them to memory as I want to learn ASAP so I can read more of the kana in my Hyperdimension Neptunia PS4 game which is in full Japanese.
  7. Hello Neko-chan, welcome to Anime Forums. Good suggestions already made above. I see that you like Black Butler. Have you seen Hakuouki? If you don't mind samurai anime I think you might like it.
  8. Ehhh... [spoiler=Episode 09] The pacing of the action scenes in this one felt a bit off. Where the heck did the vampires get all those Apache helicopters from?? I also felt the tension was kind of lost as the helicopters were strangely animated - their flyover angles felt strange and jerky. There was one scene in particular where one of the helicopters got shot by Yuuichirou's arrow but it still managed to do a flyover and fire a missile before exploding. Bizarre. The introduction of the pills by Shinoa is interesting, perhaps they'll use them in the next episode judging from the bloodshed teasers in the preview. I must admit I'm growing more fond of Shinoa, despite her patronising attitude, seeing her pull such cheeky faces in the midst of their dangerous situations is amusing and always gives me a slight chuckle. Overall, still entertaining. Looking forward to the next episode.
  9. Thanks for all the responses everyone, very useful feedback. Clearly a significant number of members have found us via Google. Our anime chibis overpower them and take them away! In all seriousness, all websites do have issues with SPAM. Thankfully the automated measures in place combined with our diligent staff help to keep it to an absolute minimum.

    Headphones

I'm using a pair of Sony MDR-7506s. They're actually reference headphones, similar to your AKGs @Karen, they give a neutral sound. I originally purchased them for short film-making back when I had a lot more free time. But I rarely use headphones unless I need sound late at night.
  11. That sounds like an interesting setup @Karen. With the DDJ-SR do you DJ or do audio mixing?
  12. Happy birthday. :)

  13. Hello Gabe, welcome to Anime Forums. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
  14. To better promote our Fanworks and Gallery sections, the front page sidebars have now been changed to include: Latest Anime Screenshot Galleries (replaces recent anime screenshot images) Random Anime Screenshot Galleries (new) Latest Fan Art (unchanged) Latest Fan Wallpapers (new) Latest Fan Cover Images (new) I have had to reduce the number of featured anime reviews to accommodate the new sections. Feedback welcome.
  15. Testing and tinkering with some new sidebar blocks - may look a little cluttered but only temporarily. ;)

  16. Hello Hime, welcome to Anime Forums. Ooh you have an interesting signature image there. Is that from Kiki's Delivery Service? That's on my to-watch list someday. I've only seen two of Hayao Miyazaki's works so far: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Both titles I found really touching.
  17. I've lost interest in this one - but may pick it up again once it finishes airing. Overall it's just so bland! I realise this is a spin-off on a completely different Haruhi universe where nothing outrageous happens, and a different take on the franchise (from a different manga) but it's hard not to make comparisons to Kyoto's version: Humour is quite shallow: Kyon is nowhere near as slapstick as he used to be. Radically different art style: it's not bad by any means, but just seems too soft for my liking. Everyone looks so "baby-faced". Pacing is dreadfully slow. Basically I am biased because The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie ended on such a good and epic note. It will take some time for me to separate my experience from that with Nagato Yuki-chan. This blog entry explains really well how Kyoto Animation moved away from the main Haruhi series. It's a good read.

  19. How are your studies going @Yuuki_Radosian ? After a good month of studying I have almost learned all the Hiragana - yes I'm slow The Dakuten (those double quotes and circle blobs) still trip me up a bit though and I feel like I'm reading Hiragana slowly like a child in Kindergarten... BUT it's good fun. Already I can recognise basis Japanese words in kana. Just need to finish off with combination hiragana and then can finally move onto Katakana. I've had great success in trying to think of a picture for each kana so far. Then just keep revising them once a day, even if it's just for a little bit. I treat each kana like this:

    Shopping!

This weekend I bought some Japanese stationery at an Office store, from A4 files to clipboards. (Lihit Labs Aqua Drops). I bought a blue, green and yellow one.
  21. Hello Veaz, welcome to Anime Forums! Ooh since you like Date a Live, I think you'll enjoy Infinite Stratos. It's really funny, in a Date a Live harem way and has similar mecha style action. I can really relate - so many real life commitments. Try to slot in as much anime as you can around them, we all need to recharge our batteries and unwind. Enjoy your stay.
  22. Hello Anthony, welcome to Anime Forums. Unfortunately I don't think we have anyone here that are actively making anime parody voice-over series (yet). Hope you do find a team though as it does sound like fun.
  23. I can strongly recommend AmiAmi. Here's a direct link for that mug. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GOODS-00037329 Release date looks like late July, but preorders do go quick depending on how popular a given series is. So you do need to get in quick.
  24. Just for fun, I'm adding extra images of Uzume with different expressions at the end of my posts.

  25. How did I get involved in this bottle business? Granted, but I decided that @Ryuji would benefit more from a real life Noire from Hyperdimension Neptunia and went off on a quest to do this but got distracted and the bottle exploded as a result. I wish I had a car that could fly.
