How long and fast did it take you to learn Japanese? And did you regret it? I'm always faced with this question. Reading Japanese is great and all for doujins and eroge games and such, but never saw much practically outside of that. I always felt that I could spend that time mastering a instrument instead.

It's just cute girls wearing over the top dresses. I get the cute girls part and the nice personality, conversation kind of thing, but other then that I always find them overpriced and pointless. Maybe because I'm more into sexy type of girls over cute ones, but hey, that's just me. So, no. I wouldn't go the a maid cafe, if I were to ever go to Japan, which I doubt. Also, majority of western pseudo-attempt at maid cafes are pretty bad from my experience.

Why is the image of cartoons so stigmatized anyways? Aside from the discussion of wherever anime are cartoons by definition or not, am I the only one who finds it hypocritical when anime fan claim that western cartoons are bad because it's "not mature"? (aside from the oblivious fact that enjoyment is subjective and adults can enjoy kids cartoons) The reason why people say "oh, anime is cartoon" is usually because the mindset of "Anime is synonymous with cartoons"(which is true, by the way), and the cartoon I watched as a kid are for children and don't tackle mature themes, hence it's for children. I assume that you don't like anime being called cartoon for the same reason, "cartoons is synonymous with children enjoyment". Cartoon can have an appeal for adults and children, same with anime. Claiming one isn't for adults, and one is "more" mature is ridiculous. You see how both from each party is ignorant on the subject? It's even more hypocritical if you think that the masses don't like anime because "If they would only give anime a try and see how mature it could be." It just really pisses me off when the whole circle jerk of "Don't you hate it when people call anime cartoons?" being completely oblivious of everything that cartoons are capable of and praising anime as this superior form of enjoyment or something.

People with slow internet connection use torrent because stream buffer and The quality of the anime is a lot better then streaming sometimes. If I were to stream something from 2010, it wouldn't be as good as a torrented show. The default streaming is usually around 480p to 720p while torrenting offer 1080p. and it doesn't take very long to download. Only around 5 minutes or so. The space isn't a really big deal either. Most hard drives are cheap as hell. You could probably buy a external harddrive 1tb for only 80ish CAN dollars and for an internal harddrive you could get 3 TB for 130 CAD dollars. That's a steal. Also, waste of space could easy be achieved by deleting the anime after finishing. More positive traits for downloading anime. Doens't need flash No ads Able to change subtitles tons of settings options to go 2x or 4x if the anime bores you no buffering No crappy player

Weeaboos. Basically anything/anyone occasionally with anime is called a weeaboo. Because my peers can't go 10 seconds without insulting a sub-culture. Despite my attitude toward my generation definition of "otaku", I couldn't help but agree majority of the time. A lot of the anime fan are just really weabooish. It's really cringe worth seeing a bunch of shitty references and memes thrown everywhere. While you do see actual decent human beings watching anime, it's pretty rare around my area. I'm not really proud calling myself an anime fan, but I don't despise it. It's just whatever, I'm a normal guy. Don't talk about it and It won't be bought up.

I'm pessimistic I'm pretty snobbish when it comes to anime. and because of that nobody likes me. hence, ThatCynicalSnob. I actually mostly just stole it from "ThatAnimeSnob". Just replaced anime with cynical, because ThatPessimisticSnob doesn't sound as good.

Main characters that are stupidly overly OP and/or move the plot for convoluted and stupid reasons. Usually it's meant to stroke the authors ego, and make the character reletable through stereotypes and culture references. But also making the character cool and badass, creating the perfect escapism. Kind of like gary stu's. Man, don't you love it when author make their own stories into a personal subtle diary about regrets and jealousy? Keima Katsuragi from The world god only knows 8man from yahari ore no seishun Kirito from Sword art online Oreki from Hyouka Whatever his face was from Persona 4 the animation A bunch more from various show and manga. Edgy stuff You know, my pupils turn black and make stupid expression and I become a total badass because of some tragic backstory. Or, im stupid, ugly or insensitive so that I can trick the audience into hating a character by putting as little effort. I'm not really an expert, but I like to think I know a bit about computers. But yeah, it makes sense. Just a really strange placing. I've never seen a motherboard like that before. and the cooling thing for the motherboard is way to big. Unless it's some sort of hard core gaming motherboard or something. Which I doubt since It only has one PCi express slot. But yeah. strange looking motherboard.

What is the black box under the CPU? Seems like PCI slots, but they aren't suppose to be downwards. Well, I've never seen PCI slots downwards before.

Dropped a whole bunch of anime. I think it's somewhere around 50ish. I add my drop list with my currently watching or on-hold because I always have a feeling that I would get back to it one day. But I usually never do.

Yeah, I know what you mean. my backlog is filled with shows that I'll never watch. I think it's around 200ish. excluding my backlog for other mediums, like movies, literature, and video games. It's crazy. I swear im going to finish it one day thou.

It was released in the 70's and completed in the 80's. It's kind of an episodic episode where a blonde and a kid go to new worlds and explore stuff. If you're into older anime, you probably seen this somewhere. I actually remember having a VCR tapes of Galaxy express 999 with korean subtitles. Kind of strange, but cool.
