  1. i'm surprisingly extremely insecure about my english.

    1. Optic

      Optic

Your English is good to me. :)

  2. My day is mundane and boring like everyone else. Eat, school, sleep. Welcome to the life of a angsty high schooler.
  3. Holy crap. I don't think i can mention a single couple that I actually remember enjoying to some extend. Let alone calling it a favorite. It's funny because 60% of anime I've seen where romance. Well, to be fair, A lot of romance anime I've seen are about characters finding mutual love, over the relationship itself. It almost never showed the characters being an actual couple. Or kept the relationship extremely vague and short.
  4. My nails. Rip fingers. Are you good at dancing?
  5. Does lewd stuff count? It's basically the only thing I come back to, on a consistent basis. Everything else, I just lose interest in after a while. Play any instruments?
  6. Maybe using the word grinding was a bit unnecessary, but I think my message got across. S You do realize I said ("Isn't" the community notoriously "known" for), and that it wasn't my actual opinion on the community. Counter point: what about how you mentioned dark souls not being fun? [end] Taking one experience from a game and implementing that to the entire community is ridiculous. It wasn't implying that the whole entire community was bad, I was just pointing an experience I had with it. Counter point: Well, how about when you said That was implying you were agreeing to that statement. [end] That was under the assumption that the "the community being notoriously infamous" was true. That's why I used the term, "Isn't" and "known" because it's an often discuss subject. I was asking a question. Not making a statement. As for Well, I heard at least. It doesn't. I don't think I've ever implied or seemed angry in my posts. My grade C+ english is showing.
  7. That's actually kind of impressive. Isn't Xbox community notoriously known for it's shitty community? I played dark souls on a Xbax 360 before, that wasn't exactly a fun experience. Or is your bar for friends so low, that your standards for friendships is equivalent to a bad community. Or did you just meet good people through excessive grinding. Well, to be fair, the Sony community isn't much better.
  8. oh, LOL. Don't get me wrong. I don't think anywhere did I imply or say that you should change consoles. That would be ridiculous. More of a curiosity for the reasoning for buying an Xbox one. If it's for sentimental feelings, that's fine. Just wondering if it goes any further then that.
  9. Buying a 400 dollar gaming machine because of 40 dollar controller doesn't seem worth it and something you can easily adjust to after a few hours. Especially since there are cases where you can play PS4 games with an Xbox controller. I'm actually not a console player. I play games with my PC. Never been a really big fan of play station or microsoft.
  10. Having a 4k monitor is cool, but have fun gaming on that thing.
  11. Some shitty prebuild medium prebuild case. amd socket Am3+ with a single PCI express slot. No room for expansions, just a single PCI express slot. 8 gb of slow ass ram I still need to overclock AMD fx6300at stock. It's like an 3.5 GHZ, and 4.1 at turbo. With the cooler included with the CPU. Whole bunch of hard drives. I think all of my hard drives combined is around 4ish TB. Mostly got those hard drives from tearing apart broken or old external hard drive. Not reliable storage, but it does it's job for anime. A cheap 40 dollar power supply at 500 watt at peak. It's sketchy as hell, because no where in the manual or the cover does it tell the continues watt power. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it broke from 2 weeks from now. Some crappy 100 (CAN) dollar Nvidia GT something card with 1 gb of VRAM. Forgot it's specs, but oh well. It's not a very good GPU. 2 monitors, with different resolution. It's a pain playing fullscreen games, without borderless. Especially if I'm watching something while playing. tl;dr my computer sucks. I mean, it's okay for gaming, but not as good as it should be. in today's market, you can probably buy all my parts for like 350ish (CAN) dollars or something. lol
  12. There's also a similar guide here. http://blog.fuwanovel.net/2013/02/how-to-read-visual-novels-in-japanese-in-2-years-time-or-1-year-if-you-are-fast-%E2%80%95-learn-to-read-through-vn-or-anime/ Basically it outlines the guide for reading Japanese within 2 years, through popular occupations we usually spend our time with.
  13. Have fun learning Japanese. Japanese and asian languages in general are notorious to learn because of it's diametrical difference between grammar. It's a lot different from the other languages you mentioned. But yeah, hard to add anything other the the standard "welcome to the forum", but welcome to the forum. Try really getting into the community before giving up like a lot of users. After you break the barrier between 30ish post, it gets a lot more easier to post.
  14. I feel like enough of a regular to welcome incomers to this forum. Welcome. hard to add anything other then the conventional "welcome to the forum", but welcome to the forum. We need more active users here, majority of users are inactive. Hope we don't scare you away. Also, why would you get an xbox one over a ps4. At this point, exclusives are everything for consoles. I honestly can't think of a single title worth buying an xbox one. Other then halo 5. But I heard pretty bad stuff about halo 5. and don't we have a user called Seppuku?
  15. Hey. There isn't really much catching up to do, but yeah. Can't really add much other then the generic "welcome to the forum" but, welcome to this forum.
  16. I've recently been taking a re-interest on personality types, for some odd reason. I want to know what type of people use this forum. If you don't know what personality types are, it's an theory that people fit into 16 different types of personality types, or often called MBTI. Of course these personality types are usually extremely stereotypical, and don't represent every person. But I do feel that these personality types fit into a lot of people. It's basically horoscopes, but with actual studies and not completely baseless. You can take a test on this site. It only takes around 5 minutes and it's just great to read about your personality type. https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test Also, answer honestly, even if you don't like the answer. You're proving no one if you end up getting INTJ or INTP on your 3rd try. Just answer honestly. personally, I'm an ISTP Introverted Sensing Thinking Perceiving ISTP's are often nicknamed The craftersman The Mechanic The Risk Taker The realist ISTP's are rational and logical people, and have a compelling drive to understand the way things work, and like to apply this knowledge on practical concerns. They typically don't have interest in theories and such if it doesn't have a practical application. While they are good at analyzing physical objects, they often apply this in social activities. An ISTP analysis and watches before striking, and because of ISTP's constant analyzing and understanding of reality, often excel in physical and mental activities even as beginners. While ISTP's can focus on a subject intensely and improve at a rate that's above average, they often lose interest fast when they feel like they mastered the subject or get bored of it. Because of this ISTP's usually have an abundant of hobbies and tricks under his belt. With all these hobbies and interest, ISTP's are usually popular people, because of ISTP's connection to multiple hobbies. All this and said, ISTP's have a tendentious to be stubborn and irresponsible. They are often insensitive and hurt people around them without realizing it with there brute honesty. and are often bad lovers because of their dislike to commitment. They can also make risky behaviors being completely oblivious of those around him. Also, ISTP's are NOTORIOUSLY infamous for being hard to understand. While you can easily strike up a friendly friendship with an ISTP, it's mostly likely never going to get passed that. ISTP's are generally pretty private and independent. Famous ISTP's Steve jobs (there's some controversial between steve jobs being an ISTP or an ENTJ, but he does show some ISTP habits) Bear Grills These are just sterotypes of ISTP's and don't apply to all ISTP's, like I said before. Also, this is just scratching the surface of an ISTP. ISTP's and every personality type have a lot of depth to it. I just didn't want to write every aspect of an ISTP because the amount of typing I would be doing. But it's fun to talk about them, and see what type you are.
  17. This is kind of funny actually. Despite me being on this forum for a couple of months, I just noticed the upload a file button before I posted that comment. Honestly, that might be a cool feature, but I seriously doubt I would find myself using it like.. ever. The only practical use I see for it is quickly uploading images, but I don't think many users upload the same picture twice. You can do a scan or something, but from my experience, I don't think I've ever seen an user upload a same picture twice before. I mean, you can still do it, it's just that I don't think many users would use it very often.
  18. Going to respond to a dead thread because why not. And I doubt you'll see this Orius, but great post like always. Even if the Gintama review seemed a bit bias. It's Such a Beautiful Day by don hertzfeldt It's such a beautiful day is morbid. It tackles the ideas of nihilism and death in a really unconventional way. It doesn't really seem to have a message, or a message that seemed really blunt for the audience to understand. It's really one of those, "It's what the audience takes away from the movie". I'm not really being a huge fan of this method of conveying thoughts or ideologies, because you could really apply this method to any vague works of art. Sometimes it just feels extremely lazy and pretentious. Personally, I don't find the movie "lazy or pretentious", despite the movie sharing the authors interpretation of death. I don't like this theme because it usually end up really bland and overblown. Usually going somewhere along the lines of "Live life to the fullest", or other generic advice. But "It's such a beautiful day" doesn't really seem to have that generic advice, and despite it's vague message, I did got something powerful and meaningful after the ending of the film. (spoilers for the movie from here on out and basically the real review) This isn't going to be very long (well I thought I wouldn't type much at first), because majority of the film enjoyment is going to be completely subjective. Criticizing this is hard, no matter how objective you are. But I'll try my best without delving to deeply into my own interpretation of the movie, because that's something for you to decide. The main character (bill) having strange memories due to hes mental instabilities was keep hidden from the beginning of the second part of the film from the audience. So basically there were just strange flash backs without informing the audience that it's just his mental instability. But the memories aren't really "strange", while not being realistic, it doesn't really seem to bend either way. So when I was confronted and told that bill strange memories were in fact false and just due to him making sense of all the strange situations because of his mental instability, i wasn't really a surprised or disappointed because of how predictable it was. It just felt really out of place. There was no build up to this moment, and was a vital part of the movie. The memories should have bend either eerie realistic, or strange beyond comprehensible. It was both, and because of this the build up to that scene felt empty. The strange memories didn't really seem due to his mental instability, but seemd like something that actually happened to main character. In other words it was to realistic to be taken seriously. The animation seemed "inconsistent." The reason why I quoted that is because using inconsistent seems a little unjustified. Because you can see the author improving his art style as he was creating the film. Taking frames from the first part to the last part, you can see how different the art style is. The sound is extremely solid, good choose of music, it fitted the scenes and the narrative has a smooth voice. and the sound effects are pretty solid. The metaphors are sometimes way to vague and seemed to just be placed there to confuse the audience. It wasn't until I rewatched it multiple times I understood the metaphorical imagery. As for characters, like I mentioned earlier, determining whenever this character had meaningful character growth is something that the audience is to decide. Because Bill is just an manufacturer, a construct of you and the masses. For the most part, bill stays the same person for majority of the film. It's really at the very end of the film where the camera cuts off, is where Bill changed from the person he was from the beginning of the film. (sorry if my English seems a bit off. I honestly had a really hard time writing because I couldn't think of the right words to use.) 8/10 Enjoyability: Life moving/One of my favorite movies
  19. Welcome. I remember you, I think. Well, aside from re-welcoming you, I'm here because your occupation made me curious. You refer to yourself as a second year, and not a sophomore. Why is that? I know that sophomore isn't really use anywhere else other then north america. It's slightly implying that you're not from north America. Just kind of curious of your location or why is that? I'm not a creep, I swear to god. I think.
  20. Huh. It's weird seeing bleach and hitman reborn in the top 5. Does it really deserve to be there? I mean, since when was the last time bleach has been relevant? The last time I remember it being popular was when the anime ended. and hitman reborn isn't nearly bought up as often as Naruto, and One Piece. Aside whatever my opinion might be from bleach or hitman reborn, aren't the big 5's suppose to be defined by it's popularity? At this point, it's really just one piece, naruto and fairy tail. Also, the "Well, i had a discussion about hitman reborn with ****** 2 weeks ago!" bring up the point that stating one experience isn't enough of a justification to prove that this show is relevant. and I could also bring up the "The Big Sort", but I won't because then this would turn into 20 paragraphs, and no one would be interested in my rambling about the nature of the internet. It should be the big 3, over the big 5. But oh well, i'm just really bickering at this point, my entire point could be debunked with "it's suppose to broaden the discussion."
  21. Just giving money may seem more practical, and seem more honest. and gift cards are novelty item, holding sentimental values. But let's be real here, who cares about feelings and such, psh. Yet It's traditional and a social convention. So, it's kind of expected. It's kind of awkward just receiving money without a gift card. Maybe It'll feel different if i'm the one giving out the gift cards, not receiving it. (I'm not old enough, let alone responsible to be the one giving out money to relatives)
  22. I don't really use anime characters to identify myself on social platforms like these. But I remember using this picture for a solid year and a half. But even then, this came from a game.
  23. Am I the only one noticing these trend of sensitive creators dismissing any sort of criticism, constructive or not, as being "Haters?"

Not that I really mind being called a hater if it's synonymous with "critic". But identifying myself as a hater would come off as misleading.

Oh, it's more common than you think. One particular writer I've seen, however, seems to LIVE by that. Hilariously, he thinks he has a massive fanbase that just doesn't speak up. I'll bet you if it was half as big as he thinks it is, more people would defend him, and his original work would sell better.

Good to see I'm not alone on this. I especially see this type of sentiment on social medias like twitter and facebook.

  24. I don't get the point of the thread. But oh well, It's not like there's a new thread that I haven't already contributed in yet.
