The Zabuza Arc of original Naruto is the best kind of anime I've ever seen, I really wish the tactics and deception of that arc stayed throughout the series.

lol nice, Sonic music rips. do you have a favorite track? cause i can never choose 🙃

  2. Heyo! Welcome to AF, always neat to see a fresh face! It's kinda interesting seeing a brand new member with slightly older tastes in anime (Death Note, Lucky Star, etc.), how much do you warch newer anime vs. older stuff?

  3. Damn, you're on a marathon the last day or so lol
  4. Hey man, don't feel obligated to do something that you mean to do purely for enjoyment. Whichever place is more fun for you to be on, go for it. It's your free time, you should get everything you can out of it. And really, it's not impossible to just balance the two out if you have to, but if you don't want to play that balancing game then just don't do it. Even hobbies or interests feel like work if you treat them like work, and it sucks sucks SUCKS when you turn everything you enjoy into a form of work or an obligation.
  5. Nothing to add, just a Black Lagoon appreciation post. I actually went a few years not realizing the manga continues past where Season 3 ends, which is a massive relief because the ending to the anime WHILE GOOD, felt like it didn't wrap up enough for the characters arcs. You finish the manga? I'm only a couple chapters past the end of the anime.
  6. I just realized that you have a Sonic stage as your banner. Nice!

  7. @efaardvark Fuckin' yikes, feels bad man. I'm glad you can at least stay home now, but you really got put through it. I hope whenever we finally come out the other side of this, we end up recognizing everyone that kept working through the pandemic, to say you got the raw end of this deal doesn't even come close.
  8. Yooooo that Lavender Town stuff was so spooky when I first found out about it! Pokémon Ghost Black is my favorite creepypasta period
  9. Currently taking turns getting pissed off at every Sonic game for some reason. Breezed through Sonic Heroes until I got to the rail section of Final Fortress that DOESN'T FUCKING WORK! Try to switch rails and he just bugs out and flies off into the sunset. Then I went to Sonic 2, just enjoying the hell out of it. But sure enough I got to that boss fight on Eggman's ship with the 3 spinning platforms w/spikes and just got my ass beat. Sonic just handles too poorly in tight spaces, it's easily one of my least favorite bosses in the whole series. Overall, Heroes is an absolute gem (even if partially completely broken) and Sonic 2 is incredibly satisfying, if maybe too hard in the closing stages.
  10. That's the one positive of COVID that I hoped more people would appreciate: with so many people off work for months at a time, all those people have more time to focus on what's important to them in their own lives. I hope what we learn on that front gets put to good use when COVID is finally gone for good, we all could use more time for personal pursuits in our daily lives. Life in too many places revolves around work instead of our pursuit of happiness.
  11. Is it bad if I say I've thought about that a lot? I definitely would, but that's not the only kind of person I'd be interested in. I think you would date people like yourself if you're seeking proof or validation of the kind of person you are, and you would date someone with qualities you lack if you KNOW you're unsatisfied with yourself and want to be better. Neither is bad, just depends what you want more.
  12. That's awesome man! I'm glad to know you've been able to get so much out of anime for so long! It almost seems like a skill, just being able to appeciate the medium that much. I could definitely stand to learn a bit from you about that lol
  13. I really think if you slow down and watch maybe 2 or 3 episodes at a time, that will do a lot to help you actually finish an anime. If you watch 90% of an anime in one day, no matter how good it is, it won't feel nearly as grand as it really should and you'll never be satisfied. It's my belief that when you take your time and give yourself breaks, you're able to not only experience the story for longer, but you also give yourself a lot more time to fully absorb the events of the story. When you go full "binge" there isn't any time to reflect on past events, it's just a constant uninterupted flow. As a whole, I think we'll be able to recognize more true classics in the future if the anime community as a whole practices this. If we all binge anime at top speed, the magic just kinda fades. Grand stories aren't meant to be experienced in their entirety from 11am to 9pm on a Tuesday in July.
  14. Bruh you quoted an instance of a subjective viewpoint and called it "not true", then blamed me for being bored because I wasn't "looking hard enough". I don't think you intended to argue, but that's exactly what arguments look like. No ill will though, we clearly just don't see eye to eye, that's fine.
  15. I take it you don't exactly live in the heart of a city or anything, do you ever wish you did?
