  1. *coughs* Oldest Favorite Series :-P
  2. About the music thing, why not be more specific? Narrow it down and ask, "What's one of your favorite groups?" or "Who's one of your favorite singers?" That aside, just find out what she likes (hobbies) and plan an activity based around that and then maybe go out for a meal so you guys can discuss it afterwards.
  3. Hi all. Decided to make a thread to talk about this series. I saw other threads, but they mostly mentioned info about the series starting. So yeah. I've only seen up to ep 11...still. Anyway, this is what I thought of it... My feelings after about 9 eps in... So how about you guys?
  4. Thinking abour it, probably this one. I've mostly been on message boards catering to something specific...like I'm a member of a Detective Conan message board that I frequent once in a blue moon, for example.
  5. You know, I have a feeling that question was made with me in mind since I'm from the US and live in Japan. lol As for milk, I absolutely LOVE it! RPG or Action Adventure?
  6. Rhythm games. One of my favorites is Taiko no Tetsujin. Anime or manga?
  7. MP3 player. I'm all about music. Genesis or SNES? :-P
  8. Nope, not that I recall. Have you ever had a dream where the language spoken in it by you or others wasn't your native language? If so, what language?
  9. I haven't been to many places. Mostly within the US...the east coast mostly. Other than that, only The Bahamas and Japan.
  10. There's more to Japanese food than seafood. Yes, there are a lot of seafood dishes, but the main food that seems to be consumed is rice (like most of Asia). That aside, pork and chicken are consumed a lot.
  11. What type of genres do you like? For instance, I like crime/mystery series, hence my liking of shows like Law & Order and NCIS. This is also why I was into QED (I read the manga) and Detective Conan (I read the manga...haven't regularly watched this in years...but keep up with the films), for example.
  12. It would help if you specified what type of genres you like in general. It would make recommending stuff a tad easier, even if you did mention Pokemon and Dragonball. That aside, here are some I made in another thread... Can also check out this thread...I made about this series... +Anima
  13. I've finally started playing the 3DS version of Majora's Mask. I've had the games for months, but was skeptical because it's the Japanese version. I haven't gotten far, but I have noticed one main difference...being able to save the game right off the bat...thus making it easier than the original already.
  14. I forgot how to locate my FC. ^^
  15. Do Amiibo count? I have Link and Luigi. lol I have a Link riding on Epona statue...but it's stateside in storage, so I had to look it up online.
  16. Oh man, I remember that game. Used to play it all the time despite my not being a Power Rangers fan. My younger cousins were and they had the game. I always liked using Trini and Billy...depending on the level.
  17. Since we have new members, decided to share this once more.
  18. For me, probably the original Super Mario Bros for the NES. It was so much fun and it was such a simple time. lol Never mind, Mario Bros 2 and 3. Yup. No no...the first 2 games in general coupled with the Super Mario Bros Super Show...total nostalgia trip. I remember when I first played OoT. I received the very first version (since it was preordered) for the N64 for Christmas of 1998. Loved it!
  19. Finally! Something! Thanks for this information! Ironic how Taichi and Sora are in the same class still. That would mean that they've always been in the same class since their Hikarigaoka days so it's easy to see how they remained such good friends from such a young age. I also like that they mentioned regarding the Teenage Wolves, which does make sense. Seems I was right about Jou being in a high-level high-school or either a private high school. He comes from a family of doctors, so it would make sense. He went to a good school in 02 when in junior high. I also like the fact that they did, in fact, acknowledge 02 actually happening....but still odd how they haven't mentioned the 02 kids, like, at all. I mean, come on, at least Ken! He's the REASON for the junk that happened in 02...mostly. That aside, nice to see some kind of information. Thanks for sharing this.
  20. I think the answer is 1. As for my truth, it's 2. I used to tutor an eight-year-old who was having trouble with reading. His teacher was even saying there was no hope and that the kid was too dumb to improve his reading skill and that he'll be left back a year. Anyway, working with him, his grades went up and he passed. As a thank you, they gave me one of their puppies that had just been born. Number 3 is partially true....I didn't meet her in Japan. lol
  21. Evil Bunny: 1? 1. I used to smoke 3 packs a day due to getting hooked as a teenager. 2. I was given a dog by a student. 3. I met Takeuchi Junko (Naruto fame) here in Japan and amazed her with my knowledge of the Hunter x Hunter musicals she did.

    Japan Q & A

I was just thinking about this and decided to start a thread where people, if curious, can ask questions about Japan. If anyone knows the answer, then he/she can answer. I think this will be a good way to learn more about the "Land of the Rising Sun" that entertains many people.

    +Anima

Hello all. I just reread this series for the millionth time and decided to write about this series here. The image was kind of big, so I put it under a spoiler. Good old +Anima, definitely one of my all-time favorite manga series that ended much too soon. The story centers around a 12-year-old orphan boy named Cooro. He's what you call a "+Anima". +Anima are those who have some type of an animal spirit which is most common with children who usually obtain these if going through some kind of a traumatic experience. The animal spirit that the child gains usually ends up saving that child's life. They say that the spirit leaves the child once it's no longer needed. Cooro is an unusual case, though, as he was born with a +Anima...the crow. Usually, in this world, people hide their +Anima features. For instance, Cooro has black wings and such, but he can easily hide them and bring them out at will. Cooro is also an unusual case because he's very open about his +Anima (despite being feared as his black wings have people associate him with bad luck) and is quick to show that he is a +Anima. In other words, he's the most comfortable with his +Anima (as well as the character Senri but that's due to his background [loosely based on Native Americans]). Cooro also can sense when one has a +Anima spirit. He's in search of other +Anima, but the reason for this is unknown until later on as well as Cooro's backstory in full. He eventually befriends three other +Anima characters: 11-year-old Husky (fish), 16-year-old Senri (bear), and 11-year-old Nana (bat). All three received their +Anima spirits in traumatizing ways. The group is traveling together trying to find a place to belong and survive, as +Anima are discriminated against and in some areas of their world, they're kept on as slaves. Due to traveling with them, Cooro gets to the point where he's glad he has friends and not as concerned with his original objective of finding +Anima. It's a very interesting series and I highly recommend this underrated series. It's interesting because the kids end up facing prejudice, being feared at some points, slavery, etc., while just trying to find a place to belong.
  24. I know...sucks when there's no new info aside from NicoNico streaming eps of Digimon Adventure 02...
  25. Why? Mind explaining what you enjoyed about this series or what type it is, etc.?
