I've actually just started watching Monster Farm, aka Monster Rancher. It's nice being able to finally see this in Japanese. I watched the first three eps last night.

Yeah, I got what you meant. I still wonder if anyone outside of Tentomon and Gennai knows about it, though. Tentomon knows from the convo he overheard and Gennai knows because Koushirou told him about it in the Original Story drama (which was fun....he told Gennai he was eating more because some of the 5th grade girls of the computer club were taller than he was [he as a 6th grader]).

At the time of the drama, I doubt they would've known, but I can't help but wonder if he's ever mentioned it. We know that Tentomon knows as he overheard the convo Koushirou had with the Izumis and we know Gennai is aware of it.

Well, in the love letter drama, everyone was speculating who Koushirou's letter was for and one of them mentioned Hikari. I think it was Yamato who pointed out that if Koushirou and Hikari married, how Koushirou would become part of the Yagami family and how he wouldn't be cool with that if it was his sister. Taichi agreed. lol

You know, the CGI is what kept me away from the series for so long along with the aging down of April and Casey.

Yeah, I agree. Like I said, I like the triangle, but not in that way. I like it mutual between Koushirou and Mimi, but like Hikari having a crush on Koushirou.

I've only tried smoking once. I took a puff to shut someone up back when I was about 16. I just don't get why people start, but I won't lie. Watching the Pink Panther as a kid made it look cool and I still think so now. The cool walk + his cigarette holder = awesome cool. lol. *sighs*. Interesting how TBS and TNT used to show cartoons... That aside, from a young age (about 6/1st grade), in our health class, we learned about smoking. In our textbook, it had a photo of a healthy lung and a smoker's lung. That scared the crap out of me. That was enough to deter me. My parents are also strongly against smoking and was raised that way. My mother wouldn't allow people to smoke around me when I was a child, unless it couldn't be helped. My father would say things like "smokers are idiots" and how they should just pick up a gun and get it over with because you're going to kill yourself from smoking. I think he was this way because his father and older brother were heavy smokers and both passed from it.

Why do you think so? What's "OT3"?

I'm like that with animation in general. If the plot entertains me, I'll watch it...but I'm still not all that big on CGI. I like 2D stuff...although, ironically, I watch the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.

I don't watch many new shows in general. Last "new" series I watched was Isshukan Friend, which was recommended to me. Who knows what I last watched prior to that...oh Sailor Moon Crystal. Didn't care for the art style, even if the design was closer to the manga. I just prefer 80s/90s style.

Nope...just know I prefer the older style in a general sense.

Just like with the other thread, decided to bump this one for our new members.

Since we have new members, I decided to bump the thread to see what they feel are good dubs.

If I could go to any world, it would be the Pokemon world...first gen era in Kanto. I wouldn't be a trainer or anything. I could never picture myself as one. I'd like a pet Sandslash or an Eevee. So yeah...that's why I would choose the Pokemon world.

No, not really because they are cartoons. It's our word for an animated program. Anime is a borrowed word. Anime is short for Animation. Anything animated = anime by Japan's definition. Back in the 90s, in the US anyway, it was mostly referred to as "Japanimation" or "Japanime" as a way to say that said program was Japanese animated. Here in Japan, if you go to a video store (yes, they are still prominent here) or anyplace with a video section and go to the "anime" section, you'll find not only Japanese anime programs, but Tom & Jerry, junk from Disney, etc. The only reason I think people use the term "anime" now-a-days is to differentiate it from something that wasn't animated in Japan.

I wrote something about Deathnote's Misa years ago regarding her character and why she probably allowed Light to treat her in the way he did...and why she seemed to have low self esteem. The poster I replied to was pretty much saying at that time that a character like Misa should have a lot of esteem due to her being a model... Sorry for going slightly OT..just felt like sharing that ^^
