Why is the majority of anime shows just....20-25 minutes long? Why so short?
Most shows in America at least air 45 minutes to an hour, so I'm having trouble comprehending some anime shows which are intended for a more mature audience such as Deadman Wonderland would be 20-25 minutes long. I don't get it. If the show is 12 episodes, I thought maybe they could give the anime 45 minutes or more. Not sure why though.
That's true. I've heard of that having been done in the past. I honestly can't blame the network with young children. A lot of the shows being shown on Toonami are really watered down.
My thoughts are that the more popular networks just wants to avoid lawsuits or any kind of controversial scandal. I think the only true good optimistic thing is that they're trying to introduce people to anime.
The only thing I don't like about anime are the anime shows that I can"t stand and I'll give examples why. Also I'll give reasons about what are big turn off's to me and yes I have to admit. Some of those reasons are personal reasons. Not as of why everyone should dislike it themselves. The point of my opinion is not to offend anyone. If I have. I apologize.
Top number one on my list and I mean this one is a big one. I HATE hentai. A lot of consists of teachers or doctors raping or putting young girls in bondage or they have this fantasy sex trade. I won't even lay my eyes on it. I did however knew a few anime fans back in high school that had anime porn aka hentai and I felt it was very very wrong. The only aura that hentai gives off is to the wrong audience. That for reasons it's almost acknowledging that it's okay to imprison and rape women and from some that I have witnessed in the past is that it also acknowledges sex trade.I mean....Some but not all.
Dragon Ball Z. Reason being that there is too much filler.Random episodes that are boring. The humor is just not funny period. The fighting is over exaggerated. Fights can go on as long as 15 episodes with the characters putting on a light show with their magic powers. They've even painted Goku and Vegeta as if they were immortal gods with omnipotent powers combined with the Dragonballs. It's all wash and repeat.
Cowboy Bebop. Going away from it's enormous fan base. Again with random episodes. Pointless humor. I felt the show had little substance behind it. Not much of a good story behind it. It makes you wonder what the characters are doing long term. Sure, all their goals are money and having shit luck. But all their goals are just short term. There is better anime out there and far more improved than this show.
Trinity Blood. My example as of what I didn't like about it. For a vampire show, it certainly didn't feel like one. I like anime that sticks to the point and sticks to it like super glue. Not get derailed on what the subject matter is. Every vampire in the show was super easy to kill. The show was based on more drama than it was action. All the action goes to the last few episodes. Sure there is a SOME in the episodes but I wouldn't call it a buffet of violence unlike Hellsing.
My favorite manga is Claymore. I just enjoy seeing beautiful women fight with big swords. There's that and plenty of blood, guts, and more violence on top of it.
It's took me 3 days to watch all of Neon Genesis Evangelion, 2 days to watch Hellsing Ultimate, 1 day to watch Deadman Wonderland, 4 days to watch .hack//SIGN, and 3 days to watch Attack on Titan.
It doesn't bother me one bit to hear anime characters speak my mother tongue. English dubbed anime being aired in the US was what made me a fan originally.
There's a book store where I live that has a small selection of anime and manga but nothing to rely on for your anime needs. Than there is Wal-Mart which has a few seasons of random anime that I pretty much already have. So my best bet is either Ebay, Amazon, or that leaves me to drive 2 hours out of town to a store that has volumes of anime to choose from.
Yeah, the downside of tolerating Lucy is putting up with her dual personality that is overly sexualized which is Nyuu.
Nyuu who has the personality of a Pokemon that repeats it's name over and over...and over and tries to be cute and innocent until Lucy comes out and goes on a murder spree.
I would but I just haven't gotten around to it. I honestly don't collect anything other than the dvd of the anime and than move on to another which leaves me little time for any other merchandise.
