It’s too bad that a lot of dog owners don’t think that their small dogs need to be properly trained though.
I don’t have a problem with small dogs, I have a problem with stupid owners.

That's what i think about big dogs, who don't get trained properly by their owners. Of course i still don't like big dogs at all but to be fair, it's still the stupid owners fault for not training them well and also for not taught them some manners. No wonder so many big dogs are extremely aggressive and dangerous, and then because of it they start to attack people.

Not big dogs. Just dogs in general.
Andy’s been attacked multiple times in his life by dogs and every single time it’s been small dogs. I’ve known quite a number of other people as well that have been seriously injured by small dogs.
Most of the dog attacks around here have been small dogs, it’s extremely rare that it’s been one of the big dogs.

But you and I also live in totally different places with probably completely different dog cultures. A lot of the people here that own small dogs treat them like little toys that don’t need training or discipline, resulting in very aggressive, dangerous dogs and ignorant owners. Whereas the majority of the people here that own medium or large dogs have gone to obedience classes and take training very seriously.

It’s okay to be afraid of big dogs and I’m not going to try and convince you otherwise, but remember to be careful with small dogs too because they can be just as dangerous if they’re aggressive. Hell, even cats are capable of causing quite serious injuries if they’re aggressive.
Size isn’t the important part, it’s the temperament and training.

Yeah, you're right i forgot that small dogs can be aggressive as well when they are not trained properly. Even here in Germany it can happen that a small dog attacks a person. I have to say that i also don't really like small dogs anymore like i used to, but i also have to be fair here and say that it's still the owners fault when small dogs are aggressive and dangerous too. And then because of it they attack people as well. Unfortunately, there are really many dog owners who don't train their small dogs properly and rather treat them like toys which i absolutely hate. I still try to be very careful when i encounter a dog owner with their small dogs or big dogs, but i'm usually at home most of the time so i can avoid them anyway.

By the way, sorry to hear what happened to Andy in the past because he got attacked by them multiple times. I hope he is fine now, and i also hope that this doesn't happen to him anymore.

I want to preface this post by saying I love all animals and I’d have nearly any as a pet. However, I am more of a dog person than a car person. I prefer them because they are much more excited to see you and to be near you. I know cats can be like that as well but dogs are even more so.

To be honest i personally don't love all animals, especially not wild animals. They are just too dangerous for me, and that's why i always rather stay away from them and leave them alone. I'm already happy to have cats as pets and i don't need other animals as pets in my life.

I'm still more of a cat person than a dog person. I personally think that cats are more excited to see you, and to be near you but that's just how i think about it. I don't want to say that dogs are never excited to see you and to be near you, because they probably do. But they still can be very dangerous as well, and bite you in the face if you're not careful. Of course cats can be dangerous too, but i always make sure to be very careful when my cats are near me, and when i cuddle with them so that they don't suddenly attack me with their claws. It's weird that both of these animal species are actual domesticated pets. But of course i still like cats very much, and they are my favorite animals after all. While i don't really like dogs and most other animals on this planet, and i also don't really care about them at all. I know that sounds very heartless, but that's just how i personally think about most animals in general. Except cats of course XD

Oh, cats can definitely be dangerous 😂. I was attacked by one when I was a vet tech working at a shelter. I had to get stitches in my thumb and my arm was clawed so badly that I had to get stitches there, too. I am more afraid of cats than dogs because cats are much more agile and have sharper teeth.

Ouch, i'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your thumb and arm are doing better now, and i also hope this doesn't happen to you anymore. Even i got attacked by most of my cats a few times. Except our youngest cat Lana, she is very peaceful and doesn't attack me or anyone from my family. But the other four cats scratched us a few times many years ago, mostly at the hand and it was very painful. But it's been a very long time since this happened, and now they are much more peaceful than back in those days. I'm still more afraid of dogs than cats though. Yes, cats have sharper teeth and are more agile, but fact is dogs still have sharp teeth as well. I'm pretty sure it still can be dangerous for people to get brutaly attacked by a dog with their sharp teeth. But i can only imagine how painful that must be. Because the good thing is, i got never bitten by a dog and of course i still try to avoid a fatal dog attack.

Even as a child i was already scared of dogs and nothing changed since then, but the main reason for that are not only dogs, but of course also the dog owners. I always had a grudge against dog owners since my childhood, and i still have that grudge against them and that grudge won't ever go away. That's why i personally don't want anything to do with them, and avoid them as much as i can. But the good thing is, i usually stay at home anyway, so it's pretty easy for me to avoid them and i'm glad about that.

I love both but at the same time I can't have either because of allergies 😔 I did have a hypoallergenic dog when I lived at home that we had adopted but he ended up having these fits where he would be the sweetest dog one minute and then dead set on eating you alive in an instant. We don't know if it was because his previous owner abused him or why, but sadly we couldn't keep him because he'd bit us multiple times during these fits he would have. It made me wary of dogs even ones that seem sweet but I still love to pat them.

I have some allergies too but not as bad as you have. I don't have asthma or anything. Extended exposure to pet hair makes my eyes a little watery and itchy but I do love animals so much. I think if having to choose between the two I'd pick dogs.

I hate that because I thought I wouldn't be able to have a pet but lucky for me rats don't bother my allergies so I can have those :V

Who's taking care of your rats while you're gone? (Or have you come back to America?)

Sorry. I've been focusing on school so much I've forgotten how long you're supposed to be in Peru.
