OS of Choice

Shows what I know xP Okay then.....I'll install Linux on the next laptop I get.

Well okay then. Also, if you ever have any questions about Linux feel free to ask.

As for the distro, it's been awhile but I believe it was Arch.

Oh... well, you probably don't want to be running Arch as your first Linux OS, as its the most complex to set up out of any of them. It can also be a pain to maintain if you don't know what you're doing. What was it that you liked about his system? Maybe I can help you pick out a distro.

Yeah...my friend was a computer genius.

I don't really remember what I liked about it aside from the appearance....it's been over a year since I last saw him......

If I have any questions, I'll be sure to ask you drill. Thanks.

Well, I would probably suggest Korora if you are interested. It's a good distro for beginners, and comes in most of the popular environments available for Linux, as well as a bunch of preinstalled stuff, so for the most part, it works out of the box. https://kororaproject.org/discover

I started on Windows and have always been a loyal Windows user. However a few years ago I got into Linux and I have been running Ubuntnu for quite some time. I love it and have no complaints what so ever. I did sign up for the Windows 10 Preview and was playing with that . I felt like a kid in a candy store and I have used it religiously since. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and so far I have had no problems what so ever. In fact I'm finding it to be very stable.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and its pretty nice and slick looking , was playing around with it for a bit and haven't found any problems or any kind of bug YET, I think Miscrosoft did a good job on this :)

Especially love Cortana :P

No Cortana for English (Australian). :meh:

Have to set it to American or British English. Maybe us Australians will get it one day. :P

You're not missing out on too much, imo. I've had Win10 for months now, and I turned it off a while ago due to it not being that useful really. It's not bad on Windows Phone, but seems a bit impractical on a desktop. Now, if you could change the voice to an anime character... that might be a different story. :P

Well this is as close as you're going to get...

Because Japan love their mascots... meet Touko Madobe. It seems that's what their community named the Windows 10 mascot. And interestingly enough she has the same voice actor that did Kyouko Sakura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

I still prefer the Internet Exporer mascot Inori Aizawa though. ;)

Well windows I think been using it since I first used computer

Dont really like changing OS, did dual-boot to use ubuntu for personal reason.

the story is like this

Windows XP -> Vista(only 1 week) -> XP -> 7 -> 8.

Im still using 8 right now, dont really think I will change it though, the RAM usage is really fine with me, and havent encountered any "huge" problem with it yet.

I'm still using Windows 7 (I think). Whatever the OS was back in 2011 is what I have. We've always had comps with Windows...so yeah.

I'm really feeling OS X due to the wonderful Pages program by Apple. Holy snap can you make some sick looking documents, with a very professional look to it. It also definitely works much better than Microsoft Word in terms of freedom-of-design. But Windows is still very versatile and isn't focused entirely on one thing. So if I had to choose, I would go with Windows 7. But if I don't have to choose, I would go with both OS X and Windows 7.

So, Win10 died on me Saturday morning. I've installed Korora as a replacement, and fortunetly, it can read all my files just fine. (My waifu collection and music aren't gone, I'm so happy. :'() At the very least, I can use my laptop, which Win10 is also causing a few issues on, but still usable at least, to play games.

I'm currently using Windows 10 but I'm planning to try running Linux Ubuntu on a flash drive to compare, sadly I'm stuck with Windows given that I play a lot of games on my PC.

Ubuntu actually has a windows installer, so you can install and uninstall it directly inside of windows. Unless you're using USB 3, it will be a much more fair comparison that way.

Also, I used to be like that as well, but I gave up my PC games to run Linux as my main OS. :P. You can install your games via wine though, and try running your them that way. It's a bit hit or miss on if the game runs well or if at all though.

Can always dualboot.
