  1. Today
  2. I liked the first and second seasons of the demon school anime.
  3. Lot details are lost when the story is long..
  4. This is our spawn city, Cathair, as viewed under the influence of the Sulkan shader using Vulkan. Unfortunately somebody broke the OpenGL side of things in 26.3 by switching to SDL so now my fav combo of Iris and the Complementary shader doesn't work. As a result I'm spending more time in the Vulkan branch. This sucks at the moment because not only is Sulkan far inferior to Complementary but it also breaks Distant Horizon's render pipeline. Under Vulkan you can either have shaders but nothing beyond Minecraft's built-in render distance, or terrain rendered out to 4096 chunks but no shaders. Eventually Vulkan will allow the devs to do amazing things in vanilla minecraft but for now the situation is kind of a mess.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Hot and dry here. A bit windy too. Yesterday it got to 102F/39C. Today they're only forecasting 94. So of course there's new brushfire. The "Bouquet Fire" in Angeles National Forest, northeast of Santa Clarita, was about 1,000 acres as of yesterday afternoon when it was discovered. There's some wind but so far winds have been light, and of course the FD jumped on it immediately. Some evacuation orders have been put out but containment was at 40% this morning and the reported area had only expanded by about 50 acres. The fire is close to the Bouquet reservoir so the aircraft have convenient nearby access for water dropping sorties. Not an immediate concern for me personally but the heat and winds are also forecast to go up later today while humidity is going down so this is something I'm definitely monitoring. I'm right next door to the forest and if the fire gets back in there with all the trees and brush and the winds start pushing it my way then that could get serious. https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/incident-information/caanf-bouquet
  7. Finishing up Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun & getting current on Mushoku Tensei.
  8. It's such a pain looking out for the weak. Gojo Satoru
  9. I remember when the YouTuber who made parody songs had really funny songs. He ended his YouTube channel because they didn't recommend it, and he moved to China to make content there.
  10. That's cool that you're making anime edits, and I am looking into it.
  11. What the hey, some here are updating their watchlists, so here's a few more from me: BlampCo - Adam Blampied left WrestleTalk in 2023 and started his own channel which is soon to celebrate 2 years in January. Both for wrestling and for board games, long may they continue. Now get back to work! Ray William Johnson - My wife and kids started binging his true crime stories about a year ago and I got sucked into them. Heck, I even did a counter to one of his videos a month ago that was based on game shows! MementoBento - both on YT and Twitch, a former Press Your Luck champion of mine who has become a longtime friend of 16 years now. She streams both current hits like Dead by Daylight and personal indie favorites. Game Show Vault & Game Show Rewind - I AM a game show fan/host, after all. The former was started by the late Wink Martindale and has been running for years. The latter is newer and shows games from the Barry & Enright & Chuck Barris libraries, among others. Between them, a huge time capsule of the history of game shows is at your fingertips.

    One Piece

Close, and freedom is certainly part of it, but I thought it was more about taking a good look at the world around you and realizing you do not have to follow everybody else's rules. Other people kept telling them how to live, who they were, that things were impossible. Luffy's job originally was to do literally physically impossible things like it was the easiest thing in the world to show them. So Zorro and Nami and Colby and the Marines were all freaked out when they saw him, having only heard vaguely about devil fruit powers and guys like Gold Roger, while the rules kept them under the thumb of people like Alveda, Arlong, Morgan and whoever. Then they started adding other people, most of whom abused their power, to contrast these guys once the point was made. After that the impossible people with powers became common place. What happened to the treasure being in "one piece"?
  15. Reddit was not that toxic when it started and became more so over time as more people joined.. That is a really nice collection.
  16. I think it is possible, but there are a lot of small details as the story gets too long.
  17. "If I die here, then I'm a man that could only make it this far." - Roronoa Zoro (One piece)
  18. DH v3.3.4 now has the option to generate only surface features. This means that you can vastly expand the (DH) render distance even on relatively low-powered systems. I've read of people on monster machines setting their render distance to over 100,000! Of course it does take a while to generate the terrain, but the playable limit now seems to be more about how much HD/SSD space you have to cache the LODs. The new setting is "Distant Generator Plan". A single-player game with the render distance set to 2048 and the Plan set to "SURFACE_ONLY" only took about an hour on my older system. The built-in/vanilla render distance for these screenshots is 10 chunks. The DH mod is rendering everything from 11 to 2048 chunks...
  19. Tell that to Disney. I'd settle for them just trying new things instead of sticking to formulas. Or even just remembered to have decent villains.

    Death

Personally I think that whole "death gives life value" is one of those things mortals have to tell themselves.
