  1. I've never been down a coal mine and don't know much about coal mining, but any mining can be dangerous. I have been into a slate mine and learnt quite a bit about the methods of extracting slate and the conditions the miners worked in were both hard and dangerous, the usual method being to use explosives to bring down a load of slate and then collect up the pieces and hope you didn't use too big a charge and bring down the roof of the area you were working in.
  2. Yes, I'd heard that one from somewhere. It's interesting, and slightly worrying, how many trades used dangerous substances on a regular basis without really knowing or considering the dangers they posed.
  3. Welcome to the Forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  4. If I could I would. It was just a passing storm, the warm sunny weather is back today.
  5. That sounds like a very good plan. So do I. I'm OK with needles, but that doesn't mean that I like having them stuck in me! Last time I went to the doctors for my annual flu jab I asked the nurse which arm she wanted and she said both as I was entitled to another jab as well. I came out with two sore arms! Er, yes. I have a YouTube channel with lots of trains, both heritage steam and modern traction, along with a few other things on it.

  7. Today it rained! It seriously rained, , nearly all day!!! Thankfully the temperature was reasonably warm.
  8. Rather tired after a busy, but enjoyable day out.
  9. Today I spent the day visiting a heritage steam railway and had a great time watching, riding and videoing steam trains. The weather wasn't great, it rained nearly all day , but it didn't spoil my day.
  10. If it's painting as in painting pictures then, no, I'm no good at it at all. If it's painting as in painting and decorating then let's just say I'm the sort of person people would pay NOT to do any painting in their house . Are you any good at DIY ?
  11. @Sakura I'm really glad to hear that you are alright and feeling better today. Please take care of yourself and get plenty of rest and don't get carried away and rush into doing things too soon. I can understand you not liking hospitals as I don't like them much either, I don't think anyone does.
  12. It is indeed a beautiful film, but so very sad and heart breaking.
  13. @Zeref I'm really sorry to hear about this and am very glad that both of you are safe, but in the light of her earlier experience it must have been terrifying for @Sakura and bought back all sorts of bad memories so I can well understand her having a panic attack. It's probably going to take her quite a while to get over the event so please let her know that my thoughts are with her and that she will soon be able to put the event behind her and move on however hard that might seem at the moment.
