  1. I've now finished watching Jellyfish Can't Swim In The Night, a curious title but then it's a curious series. I wouldn't say it's a bad series, but I didn't think it was a particularly a good one either. I found the first few episodes a bit slow and the story lacking in any sense of direction, although it did improve as the series continued and towards the end there was a definite sense of purpose to the story and the character's actions and the final episode did end on a positive note. Overall I found it a fun series to watch but I'm not sure if I'd want to watch it again.
  2. I wish you well for your first day at the new job. From what you've said about it I'm sure you'll fit right in and enjoy working for the new company. Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you should consider reporting him to the police if he keeps doing it, sexual harassment is a crime.
  3. Yeah, you should have waited, going out alone at night just isn't safe any more, which is a sad comment about the state of our society. We should be able to walk were we like when we like without any worries about being harassed or attacked but there's some strange people about after dark, I don't go out at night any more for that reason, so please take care of yourself and don't do anything that could put you at risk.
  4. Welcome aboard the Forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  5. Story of my life, I can get lost even when following my sat-nav. Back on topic: It's looking like being another nice day. It's a bit overcast at the moment but the weatherman says it's going to brighten up later on with a high of 24C.
  6. That's just brilliant. The MiB are a nice touch and the surprise ending is great.
  7. Two new video games instead of running errands seems a good trade to me.
  8. This morning I finally got round to cleaning the gunge off the inside of the oven's glass door, then went out to the front garden to cut down some overgrown plants. This afternoon I did some work on my model railway.
  9. Probably a combination of a misleading photograph and an over optimistic father. That sounds great. My mother always grew runner beans but wondered why there were never any below two feet above the ground. We found out that our dog liked raw runner beans and grabbed and ate any that she could reach.
  10. Having now finished watching Series 3 of Sound! Euphonium I can say that it effectively demonstrates why I prefer to wait until a series is finished and then binge watch it. If I'd had to wait a whole week between each of the last 3 or 4 episodes I would probably gone crazy! As it's been 2 years since I watched the first two seasons I rewatched those first. Kumiko and her friends in the Kitauji High School Concert Band are now in their 3rd year, and Kumiko is now club President. In the first series the focus was mainly on the various members of the band coming together and rehearsing and practising their instruments and leaning how to play together. Series 2 moved away a bit from the music towards the interactions between the various members of the band. The 3rd series continues this to the point where the actual band playing becomes the background to the interactions and conflicts between the concert band's members, this I think was a good thing as it stopped the series becoming a replay of the earlier ones. Throughout the three series the Kitauji High School band has been striving to win Gold at the National High School Band competition, and as 3rd years this is Kumiko and her friends last chance to succeed. Did they make it? I thoroughly enjoyed watching this series and would happily watch it again at some time.
  11. Home made chocolate pie, that sounds good. It's breakfast time here in the UK so I've just had my usual 3 weetabix and milk followed by a cup of tea.
  12. This sounds good. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your colab.
  13. As the "new kid on the block" it can sometimes be difficult to become accepted into a team, but it looks like you've managed it. Well done for that, your hard work and perseverance has paid off. Now you can build on that and become a valued member of the team.
  14. I'm not sure about that either, it seems like saying "it's OK to pollute as long as you pay the fee". Many people regard it as yet another money making scheme. ULEZ is, as you might imagine, not a popular scheme and the ANPR cameras that are used to enforce it are regularly vandalised, several round my way have had their lenses sprayed black or their cables cut.
