  1. The thing is that it's such a beautiful story, but that last half hour tears your heart out.
  2. They would freak me out too!
  3. It's very pleasant with the temp hovering between 19 and 23C. I can cope with that.
  4. Sadly it is, and (I don't want to worry you) when you get nearer my age it'll get worse. If I spent too long sitting or standing in the same place too long my right hand leg muscles seize up and just walking across the room is hard work, but it does clear up after I've walked a few paces.
  5. I don't watch scary or very violent anime. There's enough scary and violent things shown on the TV news and in the papers without having them in my anime as well.
  6. For me the saddest death was in Just thinking about that made me cry buckets.
  7. I've now finished watching A Condition Called Love. It's a nice wholesome little high school Slice of Life series about two young people finding out about love for the first time. This series is never going to be popular because the female lead is a plain ordinary girl and definitely not the most popular girl in the school, while the male lead is fairly popular but he's also a rather anti-social loner who hasn't had a particularly good life, neither does he collapse into a dithering nervous wreck when his new girlfriend shows him any attention. The two young people are sometimes out-of-step with each other, but these situations are handled sensitively and not done for comedic effect or to get cheap laughs from the watcher. Overall I thought that this was a good series and tackled a serious storyline in a sensitive way, but it's definitely not a series that everyone will like.
  8. Maybe the mail room guys were just being extremely strict or things could have changed, which is possible as I've been retired for almost 7 years now. @above - I always go for specific brands of stuff I like. When you reach the check-out do you pay cash or card?
  9. Food poisoning resulting in a few very unpleasant days.
  10. There's not many series where I have both the manga and the anime, but in general I find that their ether both equal or the anime is slightly better. However, the one that really stands out where the manga was far better is Please Save My Earth, trying to condense a 21 volume manga into a 6 episode anime was never going to work well, especially for a manga with as complex a story as PSME.
  11. A lazy day. I woke up early and thought I'd get up in half an hour, woke up again almost 2 hours later!!! Had breakfast, then pottered around the house doing odd jobs until lunch time and watched some anime while eating lunch. Then spent the afternoon doing random stuff on the computer. Cooked myself some dinner (beans on toast) and watched a bit more anime while eating it. Did the washing up (there wasn't much of it). That's about all there was to my boring day.
  12. All this talk about shark cupcakes is making me want to eat a cupcake, or two. So when I go shopping next week I think I'll treat myself to some cupcakes, of course they won't be the genuine shark cupcakes, but I can always pretend they are.
  13. Those shark cupcakes sound delicious. I guess the lil plastic sharks have been added to your collection.
  14. Before I retired I occasionally helped out in the company's mail room and one of the things we had to do was check the contents of any parcels going overseas for prohibited contents, and food items was one of the prohibited items for parcels to the USA. So, sorry, I won't be able to send you any of those crisps. I've lived in my house for 65 years, my family moved here when I was 6. When I was younger I did miss our old area. There was a large area of grass outside the front door where my friends and I played and out the back was a small park where we had a lot fun. But back then the world was different, I can't see many parents today letting their 5 year old child freely roam the surrounding area and go to the park on their own. We did, of course, have boundaries beyond which we were not allowed to go, but the area they covered was still quite large. Edit: Got carried away and forgot to ask a question! What's your favourite place to visit?
