I've now finished watching Girls und Panzer. So we have groups of high school girls driving WW2 era tanks and playing a variation of "capture the flag" the object being to disable the opposing team's "flag tank", the battles range over a large area and they use live ammo. The TV series was good fun to watch and the various battles were interesting and made sense. The OAV series had too much girls and not enough Panzer, and I found them rather dull and boring. Then there's the three movies which form one overall storyline. I found the tank battles in the movies difficult to follow, the movies also dispensed with any pretence of realism with the tanks travelling at speeds closer to a rally car than a tank, they also gained the ability jump and perform all sorts of tricks that I somehow don't think a real tank could perform (but hey, they're anime tanks not real real tanks). I assume there'll be a fourth movie at some point as the third one ended part way through a battle. I guess I'd watch it if it became available on HiDive or CR, but I wouldn't be upset if it didn't.

Oh, yes, a sheet of paper can slice your finger open very easily and a bad cut can be quite deep and painful. Been there, done that! -
But the drawings were made by real people who had the ideas in their heads and thought it was OK to sexualise minors and show underage girls in adult situations. Back in the mid 1990's when I started watching anime there was a huge amount of outrage in a couple of the national newspapers here in the UK over the amount of graphic sex and violence in anime. It wasn't a good time to admit that you watched anime, and even now I've noticed the occasional raised eyebrow when I mention anime. Sadly it has to be said that at least one distributor pretty much encouraged this attitude as a means of gaining some free publicity. On one occasion they showed an uncut version of a film at a pre-view screening for journalists, that contained scenes that had been cut from the actual release version, the outcry and outrage made the papers next day.

Paper is dangerous stuff, I've cut my hands lots of times with it. -
That's a good thing to strive to become. When I was working I set out to learn as much as I could about the job and all its aspects and I never turned down the opportunity to go on a training course. While I wouldn't say that I became the best I did have a good reputation and my knowledge was recognised by both my bosses and customers. And as a sort of by-product I found that taking an active interest in my job made it a lot more enjoyable to do.

I have two hobbies that rather neatly overlap each other so quite often I can pursue both at the same time. One is railways, any railways. While I much prefer steam locomotives I'm not against modern traction, I'm as happy standing on a mainline station just watching the modern trains go by as I am visiting a heritage steam railway. My interest in railways goes beyond real railways and I have a decent size model railway which is based on a Welsh slate line. Like all model railways it's a work in progress and keeps me happily occupied when I can't get out to see the real thing. The other hobby is photography, stills and video. I'll photograph and video most things, steam trains being my favourite subject But I also like military aircraft, tanks, historic monuments, prehistoric sites, churches, castles etc. In fact when I go away on holiday I take almost as much photographic gear, plus a laptop so I can check each days haul of photos, as I do clothes.

It must be at least three decades since I last used a typewriter. The Tecware keyboard looks very pretty with all those illuminated keys and probably quite useful if you want to do any work at night and don't want to turn the lights on to advertise what you're doing to other members of your household. The price is a bit steep compared to standard keyboards, but the ability to replace broken keys is a plus point and much better for the environment than just throwing away a broken keyboard and buying a new one. However, I've never had a broken key on any keyboard I've used, my present keyboard is somewhere around 15+ years old and still working well and it gets a lot of use.
