  1. Yes. While I've not read the books I have watched the films several times, and I worked out who was going to receive Katniss's arrow in the penultimate scene before she loosed it. All four films had some awesomely impressive special effects, but what I found most impressive was the command of the English language demonstrated by the script writers. They managed to craft dialogue for the actors which enabled them to forcefully express their feelings of anger, rage and frustration without using a single swear word. In my opinion film studios need more script writers of that calibre, any one can put together a "gritty angry person" dialogue by just writing a string of variations of that over used Anglo-Saxon four letter word that begins with "F", to do otherwise requires a good command of language. Do you change channels when a film or TV show has lots of swearing?
  2. I saw the news about the weather on your side of the Pond. It looks seriously bad. Look after yourself and keep warm and safe. Somehow the 10C we've got doesn't sound so bad.
  3. I've finished re-watching the first season of Little Busters. I'm really trying to like this series as it has decent animation and artwork, it also has a good cast of characters and some of their individual story arcs are quite good, although one of them is in my view too far-fetched and improbable. So, now on to season 2.
  4. I wish everyone on AF a very Happy Christmas.

    new anime

That's an impressive outline. Writing the scripts and storyboards for each episode is going to keep you busy for the next few months.
  6. Career planning wasn't really a thing when I was at school. When you left school unless you were going on to college or university you went along to the local job centre to see what was on offer. I ended up doing a job I didn't even know existed, initially I thought of it as a stop-gap until I found something else, but I found I enjoyed it so much I stayed doing it for 48 years. I ended up working for four different companies in lots of different places. Curiously in my final 10 years I worked for three different employers but in the same room in the same building.
  7. Anime is good medicine. I hope you're feeling better soon.
  8. I'm currently trying to watch Little Busters series 1 again. I say "trying to watch" because I find the storyline doesn't flow smoothly and the pacing is all over the place. OK, I don't find it as disjointed as I did first time round, because this time I have an idea of what's happening, but it's still difficult to follow.
  9. He dislikes a lot of stuff doesn't he. And turns the comments off so no one can question or challenge his opinions.
  10. Did you hear about the man who was terrified of the Santa at the shopping centre? His doctor told him he was Claustrophobic.
  11. I've now finished watching Soukou no Strain. I thought it a bit slow to start and introducing all the characters only to kill almost all of them off by the end of the first episode was certainly different. But the story got going quickly after that and had an interesting storyline and was really enjoyable to watch.
  12. Today the temperature is 12 degrees C warmer than it was yesterday. While this is good it's not quite as good as it sounds, yesterday's temperature was -1C.
  13. Looking out of my window I can see the sun slowly starting to rise on another icy cold day I wait, not always patiently, for spring and summer to return because I really don't like this cold weather.
  14. 370 I'm glad I'm alive. Here in England four boys, all under 12 years old, lost their lives in an accident at a frozen lake. A tragic loss of young lives.
  15. Currently watching Soukou no Strain, an unusual and interesting Sci-Fi Mecha series with an intriguing storyline.
