    Splatoon

I'm not really sure how many people here have a Wii U... But last Friday Nintendo released their new shooter, Splatoon. I got it yesterday myself and I'm loving it. It might just be my favorite game on the console (yes, that includes Smash Bros.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L54s2m1dPs Basically, It's TF2 crossed Inverse Mario Sunshine. You are put on a random 4 v 4 team online and try to cover as much ink of your color as possible in three minutes. It's very simple, but fun. The weapons are pretty creative at times and gives you many different ways to play the game. There's also a single player mode that holds up on it's own, which adds some Mario Galaxy and Zelda to the mix by playing through linear stages. ... Has anyone at least HEARD of this game?
  2. NIntendo was only trying to act all 'mature' in that age only to a certain extent. Remember how much censorship Mortal Kombat SNES had? Sega does what Nintendon't after all. I wouldn't call the Wii kiddy as much as it's causal. But you have a good point there. Ever since Iwata became president it's been more about fancy gimmicks than power, it's not a bad thing but it's certainly dieing out with the poor-ish Wii U sales. Ironically though, I'm finding hardcore gamers picking the Wii U over XBONE and PS4. Splatoon seemed to had as much hype as Destiny and got overall better reception, while the cartoony Mario Kart 8 sold twice better than the best the PS4 have... PS4 has over twice the sales of the Wii U btw. ON TOPIC (got carried away), the types of games I like to play, if you could tell, is Nintendo. I'm a HUGE Nintendo fan owning all of their consoles and being a fan of most of their mascots like Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Meteoroid, etc. I'm also a bit of a retro Sega and Classic sony fan, but not to the same extreme as Nintendo. Zelda is my favorite gaming franchise, I've played through them all (not including spinoffs).
  3. I'm not going to deny it's creepy. *Turns around to his 3DS and pets his Pokemon waifu, Gardivior*
  4. I think it's to make up not being able to marry your waifus this time around...
  5. I've played 1, Chains of Memories and 2. Right now I'm a bit mixed on the series. I'll admit I'm a bit biased as I don't know that much about Disney... but it's been a policy of mine to rate a game on it's own rather than what it's based off of. I liked the first game as a whole, the battle system was clunky at times but I made it through. I think the voice acting in this game set the standards for games with voices since, so not many voices made me cringe. I also liked the story, but didn't care for the original characters. And being a fan for a few Final Fantasies, I didn't like the lack of characters from that series. But I'll let that part slide since it was apparently a list minute move by Square. I couldn't stand Chain of Memories on the GBA, by the time I made it to the last area I found myself frustrated. The game was easily broken by just spamming Cloud as a summon and the somewhat 'randomly' generated areas were not executed well. The sub plots were watered down versions of KH1, the music was a lower quality selection of KH1, and one of the main traits of Kingdom Hearts, Disney styled voice acting, wasn't even present. All of that aside, it did have the best overarching plot of any Kingdom Hearts game, it's just so sad to see it covered by all of the games flaws and misused potential as the series first hand-held and only main 2D entry. KH2 I loved at first, but ran down under me as the game went on. There was too many gameplay elements added to the decent KH1 combat... the game as a whole bit off more than it could chew. And even though I thought the choices of worlds was marginally better than KH1, the clash of art styles in places like Pirates of the Caribbeans and Tron was terrible (the worlds themselves were fine, but clash is clash). I also don't think Square even knew where the story was going at times. On the other hand, there was a handful of original characters I liked and more Final Fantasy characters, not to mentions traveling from world to worlds was MUCH less of a pain. I've yet to finish this one (been playing on and off for over a year). I don't like this game as much as the first one, but it's not bad by any means. That's my experience with the series, I might try 358/2 days or Birth by Sleep one day... but again, I'm not a huge Disney fan. I don't have a PS4 or an XBONE, but I will check up on KH3 updates. I hope for more modern Disney worlds like Frozen or Wreck it Ralph, and maybe a wider variety of FF characters. They've been focusing on 7,8 and 10. I want to see some characters from 6 or from spinoffs like Bravely Default (we DID get The World Ends With You characters, after all.) Oh, and thanks for reading my ramble.
  6. Banned because Senpai didn't notice me.
  7. Banned because your power level is under 9000
  8. I ban you all for banning people.
  9. I'm a bit 'meh' on this. I was really disappointed at Gates of Infinity, but I REALLY loved Etrian Mystery dungeon for being more strategic and just looking better graphically. But I'm not going to judge this new game yet since we know nothing about besides the fact it has Pokemon and Dungeons. Personally, they need to advertise Mystery Dungeon better as a series rather than focusing on crossover spinoffs, I know it started as a Dragon Quest spinoff, but still.
  10. Yeah, the Atari couldn't successfully port Pac man, it can't even have all the ghosts on the screen at one time which is why they are constantly blinking. But back then as a 4-5 year old, I couldn't tell the difference from a good game or a bad game, I just liked things that moved on a screen.
  11. Back in the day, my parents had an Atari 2600 in the attic they would bring downstairs for us to play every once in a while. Now it's in my room collecting dust. I can't say which was 'first', but I do remember playing Mario Bros, Pac Man, ET, Spiderman, Vanguard, and other mediocre games and arcade ports. Good times.
  12. This is pretty fun. It's a bit lonely so far, but here is some stuff I built for the server: [spoiler=Minecraft]
  13. I do this too, for the most part. But I sometimes lean towards the English names.
  14. I used to love minecraft on the PC, but the server I played on died and I didn't play it much after that....
  15. That depends what game you are playing... I forgot which one is the Kingdom that raises the player and the one that you were born in. I think the player was born in Black and was raised in White?

    Too Quiet

This is arguably the busiest we've been since 2015 started. I heard Drill talking about advertising the forums on more popular site though. But I find the real charm of this forum is that it's not a big forum. That's what MAL is for.
  17. Why should I go to a world were I experience pain when I can watch people fight on my computer screen... Oh wait, I forgot about my Waifus.
  18. I call any manakete that appears in this game, even if she isn't playable.
  19. I'll either get White Kingdom and get the other two paths as DLC, or hope the special edition version comes to the west which will include all the routes in one cartridge. I'm really excited for this, I'm really digging the feet on the battlers.
  20. I don't think I met very many. The first off of my head is the Miss America 2 years ago when she came to the giant I worked at. I have a handful a semi rare autographs though, from people like Robin Williams and Reggie Fils-Aime.
  21. Welcome! It's nice to see some more people. I'm ashamed to say the only anime you mentioned that I watched is Toradora.
  22. The World God Only Knows: Anime was okay at best, Manga was awesome. Pokemon Adventures: I didn't grow up with the pokemon anime like 90% of pokemon fans my age. (We didn't have cable or even good Internet:?) But looking back at it years later... I'm kinda glad I didn't. Pokemon Adventures, on the other hand, is a bit darker than the games while the anime is quite a bit more lighthearted. So it's a source where more mature fans can still enjoy Pokemon.
  23. This is something I relate to as well. I don't own a smart phone, but i notice many kids spending all of class texting. Back in middle school teachers got furious with it, but now they don't care in my latter half of high school. So yeah, I also blame it on technology. It's been recorded that my generation is the most intervened generation to date, and no one needs to ask why.
