Is there an actual difference between anime and cartoons, or is it just where they are made? The art style? Gargoyles was animated in Japan. Some anime come from Korea or are made in America. One Punch Man and Mieroku were originally webcomics. There are manga of Star Wars and Star Trek. Ghost in the shell the movie was made in America. Do the Teenage Mutant NINJA Turtles count as anime? Sonic? Transformers? Kingdom hearts?

Vampire Hunter D was what may have defined anime for me and started showing me the difference between it and cartoons".
