  1. Man, that series' old. What's it been, almost 20 years? lol I should probably check in on how the series has been doing. I only check in every so often just to see if they have an update on the Black Org. storyline again, the only storyline I'm interested in.
  2. Subbed. We're done here. Not gonna get into another subbed vs. dubbed argument on the Internet again. There are plenty of those everywhere already. lol
  3. I'm not an Otaku, at all. I don't collect anime figurines, listen to vocaloids or whatever they're called, and I don't even watch anime that often anymore, only involving myself in discussions of old anime series from before 2010. So yes, anime-enthusiast works fine for me.
  4. I don't have a lot of characters that I 'fangirl' over like many people seem to do. The only girl I've fancied up till this day is Miki Sayaka from Madoka Magica. I've always got a thing for idealistic do-gooders who are dismissed as naive boy or girl-scouts in our modern cynical age. Captain America's another character I've liked a lot for that reason. I'm not a very idealistic guy myself, which is probably why I respect these individuals who balance out the negativity I hold in me. I do see their points about justice and righteousness very clearly, agreeing with them to a significant extent, but I just don't have the motivation to be in their positions.
  5. I prefer adventure, exploration, or simulation games with a good story in them. Usually, the gameplay bogs down the story for me, so I would just use a walkthrough and get through the obstructing gameplay as fast as possible to get to the heart of the story. More importantly, the walkthrough prevents me from missing any audio logs or other story elements that I might miss if I were to rush through the game, blinded. Sometimes, reading a walkthrough while playing a game can be rather tiring, and I would be too lazy to do so and just wing it. The universe does feel more immersive when you're playing in fullscreen as opposed to windowed mode. I played BioShock: Infinite in windowed mode but with maximum resolution so that it stretches to my entire screen for maximum immersion. This also prevents the lag that will happen if I alt-tab a fullscreen game to my browser and refer to the walkthrough. No, I didn't play it on the Easy level, in case you're wondering. I played it on Medium. I still have to hold some kind of reputation as a gamer around player.me, you know? On an off-topic note: The thing about BioShock: Infinite, people said that the story is focused a lot more than the gameplay, and I beg to differ, because the gameplay here still drags too much for the story to be that enjoyable. If anything, there's a lot more interesting story elements in the previous two BioShock games that aren't bogged down by repetitive scenes of shooting galleries. Of course, this doesn't include the fun little tidbits Infinite includes like the opening scene where you get to explore Columbia, but those non-gameplay moments only happen three or four times throughout the entire game, not enough to be significant.
  6. It's tough to like a show when its fanbase is this blinded. I feel like I'm associated with the ignorant lot when I watch these crap.

Logically speaking, one would think so, wouldn't he? However, it just doesn't feel the same as watching a show that you could discuss with others... minus the annoyance that comes with ignorant fans. :P

I mean, half the fun about watching these shows is talking about them. That fun is taken away when you have to deal with the stereotypical 'fanboy' who hypes up everything.

I mean, don't get me wrong, opinions are opinions, they are subjective. But I'm afraid I'm a very non-compromising guy, and it's hard for me to see the other man's point of view when it's something I strongly disagree with. I have a pretty black-and-white perspective. I guess calling them ignorant wasn't exactly appropriate, but some of their views just grinds my gear a lot... I can't help but feel utter annoyance.

  7. Just completed the main portion of BioShock 2 a few days ago, and the Minerva's Den DLC.yesterday. I'll probably begin playing BioShock: Infinite tonight.
  8. I'll just post what I've said about Taiora on MAL:
  9. Haha, I feel you. A lot of people here in Singapore, though they know and like anime, only like mainstream shounen anime like Bleach and Naruto, ugh. You'd be hard-pressed to find even a single person who knows about Mushishi and harder-pressed to find one who likes it.
  10. Watching the first episode of Netflix's Daredevil. Now THIS is what I've wanted, Marvel. Should be much more interesting than Age of Ultron.

  11. Age of Ultron was decent. Nothing amazing, just functional in killing two hours of my time.

  12. Depends on the context, I guess. "Cartoons" are usually used to denounce an animation as some kind of immature media, in which case, I'd just correct it as "anime". Technically though, "anime" is merely "animation" in Japanese, so I don't really see a big deal if the usage doesn't involve mockery.
  13. Though I haven't the opportunity to check them out, I heard that most of them are more well-written than half of the Digimon seasons (like Frontier and, ironically, the Xros Wars anime). I might check'em out someday. I heard V-Tamer is really good.
  14. I was actually an old member of the X-Evolution forums, and one day, when I decided to look it up again, I found this instead. Didn't decide to join up until recently.
  15. I've only got a handful I could name: The Mass Effect trilogy Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money (didn't really like Absolution as much) Age of Mythology Serious Sam: The First and Second Encounter The Sims 2/The Sims 3 A couple of well-made love-sim games like School Days Zoo Tycoon Dragon Age: Origin (never really felt like replaying it though) Telltale Games' The Walking Dead season 1&2 Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (so much fun to play Spider-Man Noir with CDB's voice) Digimon Adventure PSP Far Cry 3 Tomb Raider remake (fun for the first time, with no replayability if you use a walkthrough) Deus Ex: Human Revolution (one of the games I never got to complete) That's pretty much it.
  16. Every video game can be too time-consuming for me. I'm a filthy casual. lol But really, having finished Silent Hill 2 the other day, I really didn't want to restart the whole thing again just to get the other endings. The first time through was already pretty frustrating. I get that it's part of the charm of a survival horror, but after a while, it stops being 'horrifying' or 'scaring' and more 'frustrating' and 'repetitive', so. I thought increasing the difficulty would help, but that only serves to frustrate me even more when I got stuck with the first Pyramid-Head boss fight in "Hard Difficulty". I promptly went ahead and deleted the game. I actually felt the same about Alien: Isolation as well. When the story kinda bored me halfway through the game, there's only the 'survival horror' aspect left, and that entertained me much lesser than Silent Hill 2 did. I would say, love-sim games and visual novels usually drag out way too much than they need to as well. I'd just stick with a 1 or 2 cour anime. They are less time-consuming.
  17. Waitwut? You were referring to the anime? I didn't know there was a series up already titled "Meikyuu" and "Rakuen". Well, I wasn't really that impressed with "Kajitsu", to be honest, so I think I'll just wait for the visual novels to be fully translated.
  18. I used to use Chrome a while ago. I loved the speed, but somehow, one way or another, I ended up being with Firefox again due to reasons unknown. I haven't changed my Firefox skin/background theme for a long time. It's currently a 'Dark Knight Joker' theme. Bleh. I'm too lazy to change it.
  19. lol I don't really remember Piedmon being on the series for that long to bear this trope though. But I admit, he could have fought harder against HolyAngemon's "Heaven's Gate". I mean, he has all kinds of tricks up his sleeves, and he couldn't even pull a faux death of some kind. Which is why Vamdemon will always be more badass than this guy. Oh look, the one-time-only Apocalymon.
  20. Pretty excited about this, though it's a shame we don't have any real news yet. Oh well. I wish this would be a more slice-of-life series than the first two seasons. I was kinda excited by the text-monologue displayed in the teaser trailer, where they talked about, "If we didn't meet these Digimon, we wouldn't have learned the lessons we have today" or something like that. Would be nice if they take the time to go on a spiritual journey of some sort, some kind of self-discovery inner-reflection to ponder on the things they've learned. Even if they don't do that, I still wish they wouldn't take the usual route again, the generic, "Evil Digimon are taking over the Digital World and it's up to a group of teenagers with attitude to save the day before bedtime!" lol Something that brings a fresh perspective to the franchise like Tamers and Savers would be nice, or even X-Evolution.

    Mushishi

Yeah, I love the non-linearity. Usually, it can bother me in shounen series where they just make jokes all the time, but the non-linearity of this series actually has a nice theme revolving round it, and I love the atmosphere said theme brings out. But I never got around to season 2. I just don't have the time and motivation for that many anime series nowadays. -,-
  22. I think I would just pick a Digimon, even over world peace. Jokes aside, I'm usually a firestarter (ba-dum-tss). Charmander, Cynderquil, Mudkip... wait. Yeah. I'd pick Mudkip over that little chick... because first impressions didn't tell me that little chick would grow into a badass kung-fu chicken. Blaziken has since became one of my favorite fire-type Pokemon. Having said that... GROUND AND WATER TYPE! lol Definitely a better combination than "Fire and Fighting type", a combo that could easily be wiped out by a Water and/or Flying type. As for the later generations, I can't really remember their names. There was some kind of pig... and in D/P, there was... erm, a gecko, maybe? I can't remember. lol
  23. Oh yeah, pretty frequently. My router is wireless, and I share the connection with my dad so I had to put the router in my living room, right outside the door to my bedroom. Unfortunately, the distance makes the connection weaker, and I would usually only get 200-400kb/s download speed. This is on my Windows platform though. On my iMac, you could run both Windows and Yosemite (Mac's current platform), and on my Yosemite, the speed usually goes to about 500-1mb/s download speed, despite the router's distance. If I were to either place the router beside my computer or just connect it with a lan-cable, then the speed can reach about 2mb/s if I'm lucky. Maybe 3mb/s. Aside from the speed problems, back then, my router always shuts down on its own for some reason, probably due to a loose power-plug. No matter how I twisted the power-plug though, it wouldn't turn back on, until I twist and twist the cable repetitively, rotating it around the power socket of the router. We had my ISP replace the router recently, and we haven't had that problem ever since. Furthermore, my ISP also does the occasional 'maintenance' that leaves you without connection for several hours. This can be rather jarring. "NO INTERNET FOR HOURS?! OH MY GOD!" lol
  24. The only kind of beverage I drink nowadays, unfortunately, is coke, and the occasional sprite. Can't get enough of coke.
  25. And as opposed to Superman, I'm pretty sure Goku doesn't stand for the 'Japanese way'. He's brash and hot-headed, not anything at all like your typical Japanese workmen.
