Princess Connect ReDive season 2 - honestly think this series is at it’s best when it’s NOT trying to advance the bigger story (which seems confusing, gloomy & not it’s strong point) & focuses on just having fun with it’s cast of wonderfully eccentric characters. Besides I’m already getting my fill of heavy subject matter with Attack on Titan & Requiem of the Rose King.

Woke up to the triple whammy of Monday Morning, Valentine’s Day & last night’s Super Bowl result. But after some much needed positive energy from a friend & the day being largely over now, feeling more mellow

I never really got into Natuto & generally prefer seinen to shonen. Favorite shonens would probably be My Hero Academia (though my enjoyment has waned after season 3), Soul Eater & Buso Renkin. Thought Hunter x Hunter was decent, but I still need to finish the Chimera Ant arc. When it comes to graphically violent, blood/gore my favorites are probably Dorohedoro, Hellsing Ultimate, Higurashi When They Cry & Claymore. I’m planning on checking out The Devil is a Part-timer soon because I’ve heard it’s funny & season 2 is scheduled for sometime this year. I actually watch more animation than live action tv anymore (currently watching Arcane on the non-anime side). Have been fascinated by animation since childhood but used to watch a lot more of the classic sitcoms, scifi (the original Star Trek) & BBC shows (Dr. Who & the PBS mystery anthologies) Anyway, hope you stick around.

Last week’s snow has been gradually melting. If it rains this afternoon like predicted, it should get rid of most of it.

Just learned that next week will conclude Demon Slayer’s Entertainment District arc with a double-length episode.

I continue to find it to be the most enjoyable “new” show of the season (honorable mention to the trippy Rust Eater Bisco), but with some caveats. I personally feel like the gyaru cosplay fangirl idea would work just as well without the S&M eroge angle tacked on. I get that it can be used to make her obsession run counter to gender expectations, like Gojo’s being Hina dolls, but still feels like pandering to the ecchi crowd more than challenging gender boundaries. And the time & attention devoted to Marin’s jiggle physics each week can feel a bit too detailed. But it still manages enough cute romcom moments (like the end scene of ep 5) that I’m rooting for the two of them. The standouts of the season remain Attack on Titan & Demon Slayer. AoT in particular seems to be living up to expectations for the final culmination of one of the decades most influential series, though it is certainly not an easy watch emotionally (again, to be expected given how dark & graphically violent it had been previously). On an anime-adjacent note, I’ve watched through episode 5 of Arcane over the weekend & am finding it more enjoyable than the typical Netflix (western) attempt at adult animation.

As much as I appreciate Kyo & Tohru being Furuba’s alpha couple, on a personal level there’s something particularly touching about Yuki & Machi finding each other And I suppose it’s past due since Iruma & Ameri finally had an actual date

A 2nd season has been greenlit, but no word on timing.. Just finished The Orbital Children (Extra-terrestrial Boys & Girls). It was decent, but perhaps overly ambitious in what it tried to accomplish in just 6 episodes)

It just goes to show, not much difference in our ages, but a world of difference in our level of tech experience/knowledge
