  1. Finished The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would, which is why I still try to give new isekai series a chance. Especially liked the master/trainee dynamic between Rose & Usato. While largely played for laughs, it still delivered some genuine feelz as well. Hope it gets a 2nd season, because it feels like it’s just getting started.

  2. I just finished Frieren recently. While I agree with it being the best thing to air over the past 6 months, I have to feel it’s current ranking on MAL is overstating things.

Will be wrapping up a number of series this weekend: Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic • Solo Leveling • Ragna Crimson

Need to catch up on: The Dangers in my Heart season 2 • Shangri La Frontier • The Apothecary Diaries • Undead Unluck

Looking forward to Yuru Camp season 3 a week from today.

  3. Welcome 😁 Hope you find things to interest you here & decide to stick around.

Some of my favorite SoLs: Azumanga Daioh  • School Rumble • Yuru (Laidback) Camp • Diary of our Days at the Breakwater • Do It Yourself • My Roommate is a Cat • Flying Witch

Favorite Romcoms: Tomo-chan is a Girl • Recovery of an MMO Junkie • My Dress-up Darling. Currently watching the 2nd season of The Dangers in My Heart. And as far as romantic drama, I recommend the Fruits Basket remake (2019-21)

  4. Welcome 😁 Hope you find things to interest you here & decide to stick around.

Since you like Chainsaw Man, maybe try Dorohedoro. Currently only 1 season, but another is supposedly in the works. Fir something more shonen (as opposed to seinen) maybe Undead Unluck.

  5. Saw at the cinema today

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out - the 2nd sequel film to the Bunnygirl-senpai tv series, with the focus on Kaede’s struggle to overcome the extreme social anxiety which previously led to her living as a hikikomori for 2 years. Very emotional with a strong advocacy of alternative educational methods & learning/finding acceptance for being different (not “normal”).

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid - the 3rd film , focusing on an unexpected “complication” of the Azusagawa family trying to reconcile  & overcome the mutual trauma that resulted  in the parents & children living separately. Also greater focus on Sakuta & Mai’s deepening relationship as they get closer to leaving high school & becoming young adults. This one hit me on a much more personal level emotionally & actually made me tear up. Added to my list of all-time favorite anime movies.

Both movies were very emotional, while also having the humorous (and in the case of Sakuta/Mai, flirtatious) verbal sparring the franchise is known for. I wasn’t initially a fan, but the deeper I get into it, the more appealing I find it. Definitely recommended for fans of Haruhi Suzimiya (personally I like it better). The one major complaint is that you need to have seen the previous material to keep up with the story. Which is further complicated by the fact that none of the movies are currently streaming legally in the US. This theatrical double feature was extremely limited (one day only for the sub version  & dub version the next day only). And the blu ray of the first movie is priced at a premium. And it will only get more difficult for newcomers since the after credit scene revealed that a new animated entry has been green-lit (no word on if it will be a 4th movie or a 2nd season).

  6. More of a Monday quote than a Friday one, but

“You may not realize it, but people have to work to make a living, no matter how foul their mood.” - Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 27

Good News, I think. Not that I'll be able to watch any of it as I don't have a Disney+ account.

I tend to alternate between Netflix & Hulu/Disney+ as series I want to watch accumulate. Crunchyroll is the only subscription I keep continuously.

It’s a colder environment, but as far as tribal girls who use a bow, there’s  Asirpa from Golden Kamuy

Yuru Camp 3 is definitely one for the watch list. But I didn't think much of the rest of the line up, so far.

It'll be interesting to see what's behind the question marks.

They just added season 3 of Sound Euphonium which I believe is a series I’ve heard you mention

  10. My all time favorite horror anime is Shiki (vampires/suspense). Maybe also try Angels of Death (survival/serial killers/dark romance) & Ghost Hunt (paranormal investigators)

I consider these supernatural instead of horror but also maybe try Mushishi (cryptids) • Ushio & Tora (shonen/yokai) • Dororo (samurai/demons) • The Ancient Magus Bride (celtic folklore/dark romance) • Gleipnir (body horror/romance/action)
