  1. Because I enjoy variety. While I certainly have my preferences, just watching certain genres is too restrictive for me. And I actually find it very fulfilling when a series I had little expectations for manages to surprise me. As to why for this series in particular, while certainly not an “A” list title, I do have an interest in myth/legend/folklore/fairytale themes. Considering it’s getting a 3rd season, apparently I’m not alone in finding it at least somewhat enjoyable (though I do hope they decide to wrap things up this time around, as I could see losing interest if things drag out too long).

I generally prefer romcoms over romantic drama’s, but the Fruits Basket remake proved that there are exceptions.

The purchase of large skeletons from home depot and lowes has commenced. They are starting to sprout around me. The horror of seeing multiple extra large skellies with nowhere noticeable to store them for the next season. Impulse buys to decorate your lawn. Some are riding a rusted out dodge truck, others looming over the flowerbed staring at the mail carrier. Who knows where these constructs of human ostentation will end up in the end but for now they loom over us. 😱

    There’s no stopping The Rumbling

while the skeleton’s are the most common, there’s a house I drive past on my commute that  has what looks like an Ent with a jack o’lantern head that’s the same size (guessing around 15’) in their yard

From what I've seen in the big-box stores around here, they're mostly skipping Halloween, minus the candy aisles, and going straight to Christmas.... I'm not ready for it.... 😭

I’m definitely not ready for winter 🥶

And if you’re buying Halloween candy in September, it’s not for Trick or Treaters 😋

Is this the correct name mate? i cannot find

Since you seem to use IMDB as your reference site:  https://m.imdb.com/title/tt22249034/?ref_=fn_al_tt_10

It’s more shounen so the violence isn’t as graphically detailed as Hell’s Paradise,  Dororo, etc.

You might enjoy this as well https://m.imdb.com/title/tt25534100/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2

BTW,..as my post above suggests, i was mistaken and watched a different anime. But its good. You watched it?:

That’s the version I was talking about. As stated I didn’t really get into it but did remind me of Hell’s Paradise.

  5. There’s a sequel movie Battle of Unato, though for some reason Netflix split it into 3 “episodes”

    Quote

Unato was originally an 83-minute feature-length film, but Netflix diced it into three chapters; narratively, it picks up six months after the events of the series[/quote]

(the other 2 movies are recaps of season 1)

  6. Finished season 2 of Tokyo Revengers (Christmas Showdown) & have mixed feelings. The fight with  Taiju & Black Dragon dragged on way too long, wasn’t actually interesting & pushed the limits of credibility for a series where characters aren’t supposed to have super powers (except for the time travel trope). But the final 4 eps dealing with the aftermath & setting up the next arc were actually decent, so will probably give the new season a chance when it starts in a couple weeks.

Will finish The Duke of Death & his Maid season 2 and the 1st half of Mushoku Tensei 2 tomorrow.

  7. From this season maybe try the Ruroni Kenshin remake. Not sure if you’d like Undead Girl Murder Farce or not, there’s action but also a lot of talking since it’s a detective/mystery series.

Another option is the Blade of the Immortal remake from 2019-2020 https://myanimelist.net/anime/39806/Mugen_no_Juunin__Immortal

It wasn’t really my thing, but you enjoyed Hell’s Paradise more than I did so it might be up your alley.

Attempted to watch the 2022 version of Death on the Nile, but only made it half way through. I suppose I’m just too used to the old BBC version of Poirot. Casts serious doubts on whether I ‘ll give a Haunting in Venice a try as I had planned.

Went ahead and took a chance on A Haunting in Venice & found it reasonably enjoyable. Less grandiose than the previous recent Poirot remakes, so had more of the same vibe as the old PBS Mystery series I have fond memories of. A nice lowkey early start to the Halloween season.
