I've watched about 7 episodes of Samurai Champloo & while I really enjoy the aesthetic, the story line just isn't enough to keep me interested. I'm about to check out Mushi-shi, which I've heard is a pretty good horror anime. We'll see.

If you like Higurashi I’d recommend checking out Re:Zero. It may seen like an odd recommendation at first, but their are actually a couple similarities. The first is that both have quite a bit of humor, especially in the beginning, but there are numerous gruesome & soul-crushing death scenes. And more significantly (don’t click unless you’ve at least started the 2nd season of Higurashi
the MC has to relive these scenarios over & over until he figures out a way to save himself & the people he cares about

Thanks for the recommendation & the warning @Ohiotaku!

I've got a protein pack in my hair, enjoying some hot tea w/honey & watching Youjo Senki while rain gently falls outside my window. All in all, I'd say my life's pretty good right now.

Just finished the latest episode of Fruits Basket and I'm so disgusted with some of the character's behavior & choices I could scream. So much shady betrayal & just outright spitefulness. Ugh.

@txGemgal3084 just take a few deep breaths before you watch it because some things happen that may make your jaw drop.

Starting When They Cry at the suggestion of @Kity Wish me luck, I might need it.

Reducing sodium in my diet is a bit more challenging than I thought it would be but I've got my intake for today down to below 2300mg which is the most that people should have in a day according to the FDA, CDC, & American Heart Association so I'm glad. Being mindful everyday is what it's going to take to stay on track but if this is going to help me feel my best then I'm going to give it my best shot. Thank goodness for my food journal lol.

Trying a German Milka bar for the 1st time. This...is...lovely!!!

Dude seriously, Akito from Fruits Basket is something else! UGH!
-
Made some delicious Greek turkey wraps for dinner. Yummy!

I'm liking Ghost Hound so far. The opening song is great & the show starts off with this unsettling feeling that I can get into.
-
I'm listening to some of your music now & it's really good. You're very talented

Making broiled spicy lemon pepper salmon & roasted red potatoes for dinner. Indeed, in preparation for my next anime binge adventure I shall feast like a queen!

Demi-chan wa Kataritai, aka Interviews with Monster Girls. Also on Crunchy. Worth the watch.

You know, it's a darn shame that I have to drive to an entirely different city just to find produce that doesn't look it fell out of a rubbish bin. On the bright side, I did find a wider variety of fruits for snacking this week: apples, pluots, red plums, pears, peaches, & nectarines.
I also plan to get some grapefruit, lemons, apricots, & grapes but I'll have to drive even further away for those so I might just go in the morning.
The best part of this is that now that I eat fruit so often I've begun to crave it instead of things like potato chips, cookies, etc. & I'm not too far from reaching my next weight & fitness goals, so this is very encouraging.

@Wedgy thank you. It has been an adjustment to be sure.
I've started taking a clear bag with fruit in it & leaving it in my desk at work so I have one to snack on in the morning & one to eat right before I clock out so that I'm not tempted to stop anywhere on the way home or over eat at dinner. I also have a full glass of water before I leave as well.
I pass 5 different restaurants on the way home & I only live a few minutes from my office. Luckily, I stopped eating fast food last November. Keeping well stocked on veggie burgers & plant based nuggets, etc. keeps me from being tempted to stop also.
I've had to put all these small behavior changes in place but now they're just second nature. I've been reading articles on how obesity decreases the effectiveness of medicines & vaccines due to the underlying issues that often accompany being overweight. That paired with my desire to just have more energy, travel more, & get serious about cosplaying are all more than enough reasons for me to make my health my main priority.

Love that new background

Natsume's Book of Friends is awesome!
-
I'm just a few episodes in but Noragami is legit.
-
Finishing up Noragami. I'm thinking Food Wars, Listeners, BNA, Gosick, or Banana Fish are up next.

This is neat:
-
Just started watching Soul Eater & I am completely in love with it!
-
About to watch the latest episode of Fruits Basket. Who wants to cry their eyes out with me?
-
Finally decided to pick back up with Mushishi. Such a bittersweet anime.

Tonight's dinner:

Not gonna lie, "meatless meat" has always been questionable in my mind. Not totally against the idea you understand, just... highly skeptical. The veggies are ok. Not a big fan of broccoli either but in small amounts it is fine. Drop a small slice of fish or chicken on that rice to make a donburi bowl out of it and I'd make a meal of it, no problem.
-
After dinner I wanted a snack. So I got a few leaves of this lettuce that I found at Wal-Mart & put a little light salad dressing in a small container & dipped the leaves in & snacked on them. I think this is going to be something that I keep going because it was enough to satisfy my snack craving without ruining all the effort I'd put in during the day to watch what I ate.
Now someone might be thinking: Ruth, why are you sharing all this?
Because I know I'm not the only one in the world who wants to get healthier or lose weight & maybe no one else in AF is doing this but maybe they know someone who is & maybe that person's struggling & could use some helpful tips or advice from someone else who understands how they feel & appreciates how hard they're trying even if they don't know them personally.
That's why.

Serial Experiments Lain is something else right off the bat. @~J~ what have you gotten me into? lol

Lain's dad made a comment about upgrading her computer as a status symbol for her maturity to keep up with her friends and that really unnerved me. I am not a tech nerd at all. I live below my means and I don't give a damn about keeping up with everyone else like that. I can't tell you how many problems that has caused me with people around me who seriously look down on people who aren't trying to constantly impress them.
-
Wow...the death scenes in Another are pretty insane. Like Final Destination level nightmare fuel. Yikes.

@efaardvark it certainly does! I sure am glad I haven't gotten attached to any of the characters so far since any of them could be next on the chopping block. I've already watched the 3rd death as well & this show is pulling no punches.

How are you liking Tower of God so far?
