Dinner last night was an extravagant, opulent affair... the food I prepared was painstakingly crafted from naught but fresh, raw, unprocessed ingredients that came together in a beautiful melody of flavor, the likes of which this world has never before witnessed. For far too long, I have toiled away in experimentation, seeking desperately to find and prepare the perfect dish. Last night, I succeeded.

Heya, hiya! Welcome to AF. Tell me about it! I always agonize heavily when it comes time to make one of them. The end result is usually pretty good, but the path to that result tends to be a little troublesome, to say the least! It's the same, for me at least, with profile texts and the like. Hullo Spectra! I think your mistake will end up being a fortunate accident of circumstance! As someone that floated around the internet a great deal looking at a lot of the different forum options for anime communities, I think this one has very easily taken the top prize. The people present, and the posts that are made have done nothing but impress me since I first joined. It may not be as ultra-active as some forums, however I think the quality, pleasant members, and lack of drama more than make up for that. I think it probably will! and there's nothing wrong with being a bit disconnected from the fandom - outside of my attachment to this forum, and the actual act of watching anime, I don't really tend to be all that linked up with it myself. Which... honestly, I'm quite okay with. Similarly, I don't have much knowledge of voice actors or studios either, apart from the fact that I've been trained to expect good things from a couple of them. For what it's worth, I'm not particularly active in anime discussion myself, either. Most of my posts end up being in chit-chat, gaming, or forum games. While I do read the anime topics, I rarely have much to add that hasn't already been added. JRPGs have always been a bit of a love/hate thing for me, personally. I'm not really a fan of very many of them, but the ones I have enjoyed, I bloody well love. Admittedly, I haven't done much in the genre in a long, long time, so most of those games that I'm fond of are classics from the PS1 and SNES eras. I very often enjoy the stories, but find the battles and such to be a bit of a bore. Thankfully, now that I'm married to someone that seems to enjoy playing them more than I do, I can just sit back, relax, and let her take the controller while I nibble on popcorn. (Appreciating you, @Cy~!) I'm quite interested in visual novels myself, as well. Have any paarticular favorites? Oh my goodness. I don't think you'll have any trouble fitting in here at all! I hope to see you around, and look forward to interacting with you further! And feel free to drop more paragraphs on us.

Not being a user of MAL myself, I'm not really certain how they handle that. @Orius might be able to shed some light on this though, since I know he has one of those MAL sigs?

I used to be a big fan of popcorn at cinemas... in more recent years, I've found their stuff to be a bit lacking, generally. :'( There is this one theater near me that does chocolate popcorn that is actually pretty tasty, but it's rich enough that I don't like to eat more than a little bit. Caramel corn, on the other hand, I could eat all damn day. I'd hate myself the next day, but I probably wouldn't let minor details like that get in my way.

Same! I really look forward to being able to save some money away to put toward renting a ridiculous RV for a few days - should be a nice change of pace from what I got used to when I was a kid. I actually had the chance to stay in a cabin once a long time ago, and found it to be incredibly pleasant. That's another thing I wouldn't mind doing again, someday. I like fishing! I've only done it a couple times, all ages and ages ago, but it was kinda fun. Just don't ask me to clean the fish. That's awesome to hear, though! I am super excited for you, and hope you get the chance to do so soon!

Imagine all the possibility for the incredible photos you could take if we go further off the beaten path. Oh Gawd. Campfire singing is something I've never allowed myself to get dragged into! This was the case when I was young, as well. My mom never really was all that interested in tent camping though. Despite the fact that my family wasn't very well off, we were able to alleviate that - we were able to purchase a small, ancient motor home from some family members for next to nothing when I was still fairly fresh out of the spawning vats... once we had that, my mom was much more amicable to the idea of camping. It was a rusty, somewhat terrible looking thing, but it worked well. Same, to be honest. Camping is something that I greatly enjoy, be it in a tent, RV, or a yurt. @Cy~ wasn't super interested in the idea, until I started floating the idea of an RV rental... she wasn't feeling the tents. Oh my gosh, I am so jealous. Growing up in Oregon, there was always a huge amount of that stuff all around, but it was all typically an hour's drive away. Given that I never bothered getting a car (I was, exclusively, a transit rider before Cy~ and I got our car), it was basically all closed off to me. :'( But, eh. Mobility is more of a thing now, so it's time to start making up for lost time. It's never too late to get back into it! I basically fell out of hiking and everything else for a long, long time, but have been greatly enjoying getting back into it all!

Everything? Probably pick a really high cliff and take a leap, because at that point I'd be pretty well and truly screwed!

You're brilliantly pleasant, easy to get along with, and generally a tremendous lot of fun to interact with.

It has been a little bit since my previous post. Let's do some reflecting! It was ... impressively ... not very good. Buggy much? The thing was a complete and utter pain to try and play. I might give it a go a year or two out when they've had plenty of time to fix their crap.

Hrm. Not a whole lot coming out that catches my eye, unfortunately. E3 should definitely be interesting, though! I do somewhat wish that there was a more traditional Valkyria game being released, since I'm not generally a fan of 3D action/melee games but eh. Nothing wrong with developers branching out a bit.

This about sums up my opinion, I think. It be amusing to do as a one-time thing, but... yeah.

I really want to try that at some point! Much better than I would have ever expected, to be honest! Combine that with some shrimp tempura and I'm just on cloud nine. Beyond that, I'm also a nut for various types of sushi and yakisoba... and a good bowl of ramen makes my heart melt.

With that in mind... Sorry, babe, but I don't think it's going to work out.
