    ~Hot drinks~

B-b-b-b-but... frappuccinos. Do you frown upon mochas, too? Frappes? Macchiatos? D:

    ~Hot drinks~

I'm not generally a fan of hot drinks. I know, I know. I'm terrible - I take my coffee iced and sweet, put ice in hot chocolate, and generally wait until my tea is lukewarm before I drink any of it. I'm an embarrassment. With that said, I am quite fond of tea - blue people oolong is my favorite by far, and something that I need to get my hands on again in the near future. Quite fond of herbal teas, as well.

    Western RPGs

I've played a few of these. Not a totally huge number, though. Not counting things like Diablo and the like, I got my start in the genre with Neverwinter Nights series, which I rather enjoyed, and then to the Knights of the OId Republic series which I was also fairly fond of. More recently, I was a fan of the original Mass Effect trilogy (Andromeda be damned), and found Pillars of Eternity to be a fun romp - though I didn't actually finish the game due to, in my opinion, spectacularly poor pacing. It's a testament to all the things the game does right that I look back on it fondly, despite this. I've never really been a fan of Bethesda games. I've tried every single modern Elder Scrolls game at one point or another, but have never really been able to get into them... the modern Fallout games as well just aren't my cup of tea. Similarly, I must confess to never having been a fan of old school Western RPGs like the original Fallout games, Baulder's Gate, Icewind Dale, etc... to be frank and shallow, they just aren't pretty enough. Other than that... hrm... I played Dungeon Siege for a little while, before figuring out that it was a fairly bad game. Currently I'm looking forward to the Pillars of Eternity follow-up, getting around to playing Tyranny, and ... actually, I think that's about it. I'd be all over a new Vampire: The Masquerade game, but that seems like a very, very long shot at this point. You spend more time modding that game than you do playing it. Jesus.

    JRPGs

I have something of a love-hate relationship with JRPGs. I can't stand playing the vast majority of them, but there are a few gems that I am absurdly fond of - Final Fantasy VI - My oldest brother lent me a copy of this game not long after it was first released in North America. It was my introduction to the genre, and I bloody well loved it. The cast and story were lovely, the sprites wonderfully expresses, and the world a joy to explore. Chrono Trigger - 'nuff said, I think. Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete - My first PS1 JRPG. I was tempted in by the ridiculous collector's box (most of the contents of which, I am very, painfully, sad to say have been lost), but I was really sold on the fact that the game as a whole is horrifyingly cute and charming. Lunar: Eternal Blue - Same as above, except Lucia is bae. Xenogears - I don't care what anyone says, I love this game. Even the second disc, when things get weird. Hell with FF7, this is the classic JRPG I'd love to see get a remake. Not going to happen, though. Disgaea (1-4) - I didn't get around to playing this until the PSP port, but it was a very welcome introduction to SRPGs. The completely over the top and goofy story was a delight to take in, as were the characters. Item world ftw. Star Ocean: Second Evolution - Look, I have a thing for stories in which futuristic sci-fi stuff comes face to face with fantastical fantasy stuff. Ys (All of 'em) - I suppose this has more in common with action RPGs than traditional JRPGs, but ... well ... that's probably why I bloody well love them. It's like classic Zelda blended with JRPG elements. What's not to like? Sadly, I don't really have the patience to replay JRPGs. The battle systems tend not to really be my thing and random battles just drive me batty. Thankfully, given that @Cy~ has started pursuing JRPGs, I don't have to - I can just grab some popcorn and watch her play them.
  6. Agreed with pretty much all of that. I want so very hard to love this show. :'( I really hope that they pull out of the slump they've been in for the last couple episodes (at least, imo).
  7. @[1304:Kirry] Everybody is gone. We're all that's left. :'(

  8. I poked around a bit with MAL, but found it to be a bit more bothersome than I'd like to deal with when it comes to making a large number of changes all at once. As a result, I never bothered with any listing sites until @Cy~ stumbled upon Anime-Planet, who's name I recognized from a group of Direct Connect hubs I used to frequent eons ago. Compared to MAL, I've found editing my anime list on Anime-Planet to be quick, easy, and fairly low friction enough that I actually keep my list more or less up to date without it feeling like a chore.

    E3 2017

Sounds like there's more news about what won't be present than, than anything else. I'm very much not expecting to see anything that's going to rock my world at this year's e3, I'm afraid, though I'll probably watch portions of each of the major conferences all the same. Who knows? Maybe, against all odds, this will be the year that Microsoft and Sony sell me on their latest consoles. Not really holding my breath for anything, though.
  11. I wouldn't actually mind giving Crash Bandicoot a try, if it were to ever come to PC (I know, good luck with that) - I was kind of fond the first couple games when I first got my PS1, though I found them fairly forgettable and never tried any of the games beyond the third. Though... actually, thinking back to just how forgettable they were, while I would be eager to try the game, I don't think I'd be so eager to actually buy it.
  12. For what it's worth, I want desperately to love this show --- meanwhile, my interest in Eromanga-Sensei is basically less than zero.
  13. Banned for having insufficient profile information to go along with the excellent choice of cover and background.

  15. Extreme caution must be executed when dealing with suspected edgelords. Hug may or may not commence following the completion of a detailed situational analysis.
  16. I hate to say it, but my impression of this anime has been falling with every episode. The events of the most recent were painfully bland, horribly predictable and worst of all, boring. I honestly don't really have any desire to continue on with the series at this point.
  17. Made some jambalaya for dinner Saturday, nibbled on some of the leftovers for breakfast today.
  18. And off to bed. Hopefully my legs will be less jellied by the morning. @_@

  19. Horror is a fairly underrepresented genre in anime, I find. At least in terms of good horror. First thing I'd suggest is Yamishibai - it's a short (if I rembmer correctly, episodes are about five minutes) series of bite-sized individual horror stories, animated in a style modeled after kamishibai street theater. The stories are based off of Japanese folklore and urban legends, and in my opinion are quite delicious. There are about four seasons of it, so despite the small episode length, there's plenty of material. Nutty beat me to this one. For what it lacks in outright jumpscares, I think it more than makes up for in other ways. It's an excellent and well executed story that I highly recommend.

    Hiking and Camping?

Steak. More steak. Steak on top of steak. Maybe a hot dog or two. Even more steak Seriously, though. If you're going to be stuck in the middle of nowhere, and it's basically a given that you're going to have a campfire readily available, it'd be downright criminal to not take advantage of it.

    Hiking and Camping?

For context, we went far enough up the mountain that further progress was blocked by the fact that the place was suddenly completely covered in very high, frozen snow. I like snow, so of course I started playing in it. Not all of the snow was created equally however, and thus I suddenly became several feet shorter.
  23. Contest entries are due in tomorrow - your chance to achieve fame, fortune, and cookies hangs in the balance. Don't procrastinate! :O

Well I imagine Kirry will be doing it, so it'll likely be in my idea of tomorrow evening, or your tomorrow afternoon, in that case. A chance to procrastinate more, one might say ;) I'm really, really finding it hard to bring myself to do it since I've failed so many times, can you tell xD
