  1. That's a weird looking monster. Its almost like a cross between H Gieger Biomechanical and ancient Japanese warrior monk.
  2. The only real choice, when it comes to a Husbando
  3. Interesting, @MarathonGuy1337 actually showed me the opening to the anime. If you hadn't have uploaded that picture I'd of had no idea what it was. So I do know about it, its a science fiction and the lady's a bounty hunter of sorts. I haven't seen it yet, but he's told me little bits and pieces about it.
  4. You know I have a similar opinion. However I don't mind anime films that follow from a series so say Rebellion Dawn of the Deep Star or Heaven Feel as you've already got to know the characters before. But standalone films like Akira it hard to really get massively behind it. I like Akira, I think it's great, but the characters don't wow me.
  5. I mostly buy my own merch and discs to. Luckily the stuff I asked for wasn't anything unreasonable. If I asked for Madoka Magica I don't know how I explain that. I proberbly lose them at; 'it a show about magical girls'... It not like I could name drop Gen, award winning or Shaft before they just call the cops.
  6. Finished Blue Gender about an hour ago. Overall great show really enjoyed it... The ending was however slightly rushed luckily I got what it was saying. I appreciated the message, and that it didn't just come out and say it but it was clumsy.

However for the first time since Code Geass I can say I actually liked the Mecha pilot. Yuji was to me grounded and went through an appropriate arch in the show.

  7. Berserk and Evangelion, damn those are good shows. I'd suggested hitting one of Gen Urobuchi's works like Fate Zero or Psycho Pass. Another good couple of shows are Ergo Proxy, Steins Gate and if you haven't already Naoki Urasawa's Monster or Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Last two are on the longer side, FMA brotherhood clocks in around 64 episodes and Monster 74, however despite there length there well worth a watch. Monster was so good I re-watched it with a friend after completion. Also Monster is gonna be a bitch to track down, it not up on any streaming sites and only Australia (for some reason) got a physical release. And the discs go for a lot on auction (300 USD or more) so that's not much of an option.
  8. Welcome to the Forums, I've also only been watching Anime for about over a year I'd say towards the start of 2020, maybe spring but that be my best bet. However I didn't watch the shows coming out at the time, in fact I don't think I've ever watched an Anime when its in season. However I've stuck true to the three episode rule/law of the lands.
  9. A body pillow, I don't have anything that weeby. However I do have two figma's of Artoria (my waifu) and one of Astolfo... no one in my family knows he's a guy
  10. So Christmas just came and went were I am, and I was wondering what Anime/Manga gifts did other members of the forum receive this year. For me I got Code Geass, Samurai Champloo, Fate Grand Order First Order and Made in Abyss.
  11. Could watch Fate Unlimited Blade Works - Shirou goes from a zero to a hero and ends up becoming pretty op.
  12. Guess you approve. It been a really good show just hit episode 20.
  13. Don't cut yourself. Good. Good. Xbox was a great system. I think the first games I got were Halo and Knights of the Old Republic. Good times.

    Sad Times

The only Anime that got a tear out of me was Wolf's Rain. The OVA is bueatiful and moving. It defiently tugs at the old heart strings. Monster's ending was also really powerful. However afterwards I had a sensation of dread that no anime could ever live up to its brilliance.
  15. Damn, I never use my name in usernames. I never even use the same username on different sites. You know I never played Kingdom Heart is that the series that cross Disney and Final Fantasy? To be fair I never got into the Nintendo Systems. I've been hardcore a Xbox guy since 2000.
  16. I usually watch a film with the family. It never a Christmas film, but it usually something old. Either 50s or 80s. It was a Christmas I first watched the Thing with my Granddad which was pretty cool.
  17. Okay cool, yeah Samurai Champloo on my list. Haven't got round to it yet. I've only watched anime for just over a year, but I've watched a decent variety of shows. The one time period of the medium I've not been able to get is 70s or 80s anime. For some reason all the ones I've sat through have been really boring or poorly paced. But that's just me, sure there must be a show in that entire period which I'd like, I just haven't seen it yet.
  18. Yeah Evangelion is pretty much a stable in anime culture. Wolfs Rain and Blue Gender are less well known but came about during that Adult Swim period. I think Blue Gender is 1999 and Wolf Rain was 2003 or 04. But despite them not being as well known (okay Blue Gender is nearly completely unknown) they are pretty good. Have you watched much anime from 00s to 10s?
  19. You mentioned in another threat you like Scfi, have you ever checked out Evangelion. That was a 90s show, and might be up your street. Its only 26 episodes plus a film. Other than that there's a few adult swim shows that have a distinct 90s vibe to say they were made in the 00s; that would be Wolf Rain and Blue Gender and possibly Black Lagoon.
  20. Got a space opera series for you, Legend of the Galactic Heroes or Yamato 2199. Both have an old and new version, one issue is that the older version of LOTGH doesn't have a dub and there is apparently (a friend is currently watching it) a lot of talking. So he's constantly pausing or rewinding to pick up on what he missed.
  21. Mars of Destruction is notoriously bad. If you want another go on Youtube and watch Cypher you will be massively disappointed and amused all at the same time
  22. Yeah, I do like Space Opera. I really enjoyed Legend of the Galactic Heroes so it great seeing the new series got announced a month back. Then there's the next season of Space Battleship Yamato, so plenty of space opera coming up. I also got to watch Fate Heaven Feel III, which finally releases in the UK in March. The wait has been painful.
