what is an anime genre that is just so bad and sucks the hardest its hard to watch

either its annoying or just plain lazy or overrated which one is worse

This. We all know the primary reason for watching them isn't plot or originality but if you take away those two qualities you really end up with cute anime girls and an idiot male protagonist inside a dead narrative. Practically any other genre at least has the potential to be good.

A lot of the isekai anime is kind of generic but there are some good examples - That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is fairly good IMO.

Same with harem type anime (badly named IMO). The Tenchi series was pretty good for the most part.

There are, in my opinion, two excellent isekai series that have a good storyline and plot, but they both date from well before the term "isekai" was invented.

Magic Knight Rayearth and Fushigi Yugi.

I can't really think of one, to be honest. I've never liked ecchi/harem or isekai very much, but I think that's just because I've seen a lot of the usual tropes in them already. There are anime that is different from the others in those genre, on the top of my head I can think of "Now and Then, Here and There" for isekai. For... echi & harem, I don't really have one, but I don't think it's the genre that's inherently bad.

For me probably BL/yaoi. I think the closest thing I completed was Sarazanmai & it was FLCL level weird.

@TWIST.BY.KORN Annoying, lazy, and overrated are not genres.

But to add my two cents…My least favorite genres are shoujo, mecha, harem (and reverse harem), and sport.

I can't stand to watch yaoi, shonen crap-the only shonen series I have ever liked is Fairy Tail. Also I avoid shonen ai, giant mecha-exceptions-Gunbuster, Die Buster, sports and a lot of stuff from the 1980's.

i hate how many series incorporate harem in some way. I can enjoy some of it but it just is so....confusing. I can't explain it like first of all why are all these girls who are each so different in love with the most bland mc of all time. And on top of that why does the mc usually have attraction to ALL OF THEM?
