Sarada
With the snow season now upon us in various regions, I'm curious to hear everyone's opinions on the upcoming winter weather. I had a chat with my sister earlier today, and she's all about the snow; she loves going outside to enjoy activities like sledding, building snowmen, and making snow angels. On the other hand, I prefer to cozy up indoors with a warm cup of hot chocolate, watching the snowy scene unfold from the comfort of my window. What’s your side on the snow debate? Are you ready and excited to get into winter activities, prefer to snuggle up by a fire with a good book while watching the snow fall from the comfort of your warm house, or would you rather not see a single snowflake ever touch the ground in your presence? 2 1
Sakura
Well you already know my stance on snow lol ~ I love everything to do with it. Sledding, skiing, snowball fights, making snowmen & snow angels and ice skating. The cold weather makes me feel so much better too. I feel more awake in the Winter whereas in the Summer all I feel is tired and draggy and get headaches from the heat all the time x.x So the Winter is kinda my time to feel good. 3
Kirika_Madeleine
Well I like winter I see the first drop of snowflake, snowball fight, building a snowman, showing the winter fashion, those best active on winter and of course best way to stay inside start a fire on fireplace, get that cocoa and watching anime in whole winter break. 1

BoilerJacob
I live in an area that usually doesn’t get snow, but does sometimes. I’m not a big fan of snow, let alone cold weather.
Ohayotaku
I would be perfectly content living somewhere it never gets below 40F outside. That’s the nicest way I can say it, so if you’re a snow fan you may not want to read this next part My memories of “playing” in the snow are of having a chapped face, runny nose & cold/wet hands/feet from snow getting in my gloves/boots and melting. And photographic records bears it out (fortunately no photos of the high fevers and red or green tinged snot that often followed). The fact that I’ve worn glasses most of my life probably didn’t help matters (frequently fogged up & getting streaked when outdoors in winter). Likewise the memories I most associate with winter in the country was me & my sister trudging down our 1/3 mile lane in the cold & dark every morning to wait for the school bus (though mom was always there too with a blanket to wrap around us). As to the natural beauties of snow, as someone who lived in the country & on a farm I’ll just say footprints aren’t the only trace wildlife/animals leave behind. I actually do have happy memories of Christmas time, but being outdoors aren’t really part of it. And since becoming an “adult”, winter weather is a nuisance at best if not a hindrance. As to activities I prefer hoodies to sweaters & bonfires/campfires to fireplaces. So for me at least Autumn is the ideal on every level (temperature, weather, activities, natural beauty/aesthetics) Edited November 22, 2024 by Ohayotaku
Animedragon
I have mixed feelings about snow. I like the way it transforms the landscape and like to go out to take photos of snow scenes, but on the other hand I have bad memories of trying to get to work with all the trains disrupted due to the snow stopping the points from working so they have trouble even getting the trains out of the depot. Standing on a cold platform waiting for a train that might arrive, but might not wasn't a pleasant experience. On at least one occasion I gave up after about an hour and dragged the blocks of ice that had once been my feet back home phoned work to say I couldn't get in and made myself a nice hot cup of tea. I remember going shopping one Saturday and when I arrived at the supermarket there was about half and inch on snow on the ground, about half an hour later when I had got everything on my mother's shopping list I came out to find there had been a massive snowstorm and there was about 6 inches of snow covering the whole area and thought to myself "now, which of those snow mounds is my car?" Now that I'm a lot older I don't really like going out in snow because the pavements become slippery and I'm not as steady on my feet as I used to be so I'm constantly worried about falling and ending up in hospital with a broken arm or leg.

Zeref
I lived in Finland my entire life and having snow on the ground is just ordinary a vast part of the year from the region I'm from. 60cm to 90cm - 2ft to 3ft - was just the normal day. I don't mind it because it is just something I'm very used to and makes me feel more as if I'm at home. Here snow really makes me feel nostalgic or to think about and miss home. I'm very used also to dealing with extreme colder temperatures such as around -5°C/23°F being normal for going out and it doesn't bother me when the temperatures here become colder. 1

Sasuke
I like snow. If it's going to be cold out my thoughts are I would at least like to have some snow to play in. It doesn't feel very much like Christmas to me unless there is snow on the ground for Christmas so I also prefer it to be snowing around that time. 15 hours ago, Zeref said: I lived in Finland my entire life and having snow on the ground is just ordinary a vast part of the year from the region I'm from. 60cm to 90cm - 2ft to 3ft - was just the normal day. Those are the 2 main days out of the year I want it. It seems to hardly ever happen lately though where there is actual snow on the ground at Christmas ~.~ 1 1

A Christmas tree in the window with all the lights and snow on the ground is kinda like a must for me to start feeling Christmassy lol ~ I feel like snow is what adds that "okay it's Christmas now" feeling for me. 2

It's cool when it starts snowing on Christmas Eve night and you can wake up to a blanket of snow on Christmas day. I'm all for participating in snow day activities on Christmas. After Christmas holiday you have to go back to day to day life and commuting for school, that's when it goes back to being a hassle and just a bunch of stuff on the street that makes me slip and gets my socks wet :V

That gets very annoying when the snow gets slushy on the walks.
Wickett
Like some have already shared, I have mixed feelings about snow. If we lived in a world where everyone, most notably places of business, understood that snow and ice should keep people home and safe to have surprise family days and relax then I would love snow and everything about it. Unfortunately, industry doesn't give a single care about such things and so you either burn PTO with a passive aggressive boss who wants you to owe them something or possibly get written up for attendance. Snow in and of itself is beautiful, however, and if I didn't have to dig my car out from underneath it I'd welcome it any time.

It would be great if businesses would do that but in most cases it doesn't seem as if companies care if you live or die, we're all just replaceable to them. I guess I could say I'm glad schools at least do this and move classes to online when there's snow, but all this has meant is snow days don't exist anymore, which is kind of a bummer : < 1

Forlorn
I love the snow, even on Mondays which is the day we take our trash to the bottom of the driveway to be picked up. I get mad if I slip on ice, but I still love the snow no matter how angry slipping on ice gets me. lol Being in a car and sliding on ice freaks me out though because I'm entirely at the mercy of the person's driving skills who I'm in the car with at the time which is mom most of the time unless mom, my step-father and I all go somewhere. We haven't done that in a long time though. They're both extremely capable drivers though, but even so, their confidence in being able to control the vehicle isn't shared by me when I'm freaked out about the car sliding or tilting on one side so much that I'm petrified of the car rolling over, but it never has (yet). lol
